Wonderful atmosphere here... but trap drums imho doesn't fit (maybe because i'm not a fan of trap...) on the other hand, however, the overall quality of the audio is exceptional and no sound prevails over the other, so, despite the beat trap, I really like this track!
It's funny you say that about the drums actually.. I was experimenting, I had a buddy of mine who's done a lot of work with Slum Village and in particular J dilla so he's a drum nut.. I apparently had an issue where my drums were too loud, or just hitting too much in the mix, they were too vital to the song.. so this time around I tried to make them lower in the mix and just kind of move the song forward versus break it or anything
Yeah man, so much better than before, but there are further improvement you still can do. For example, it is still hard to understand the verses you declare, and, once again, the low frequencies of the voice are still too strong. Very nice the transceiver effect, however it still makes the lyrics unintelligible. Try this: insert the (same) vocal track on multiple patterns in the rack, for each of these apply different filters, enhancing the mid-high frequencies and cutting off the low ones. Then play them all together and in the mixer you can adjust the volumes on each track, until you find a better sound! If you don't want to do it on the entire song, you can treat the voice within another project, when you're satisfied with the result, export, then add it to the instrumental.
Totally agree with Alien! I really like the music, the final mix/mastering... something to fix. Maybe you got no money for a mic, but for sure you can apply fix and tricks on vocals before put on mix, do you? My tip: add a filter to cut the lowest frequencies (your voice is too low), then add a 4:1 compression (to balance the waveform) then add a dynamic volume envelopment all the track long (to make the vocal track more intelligible and to ensure that it does not bury or be buried by the music in the background) and, optional, some weird effect (like the one used all the vocals long in "Your Woman" by White Town.)
Oh nooo... :( poor #9... (number nine, number nine, number nine - reversed - turn me on deadman, turn me on deadman) You know, in my other life i'm a train enthusiast, collecting train models, so when i read "Freight train conductor" i absolutely have to listen to this! Anyway, like the style, the touchable passion you and your mates work with... Magnifico!
Wow wow wow... i listen to this with my eyes closed... the first thing came in my mind was a title... "1:00 A.M."... 'cause is the time to chill, to dance, to watch the stars in the sky, to reflect on the meaning of life and try to explain to others that spark in our head that gives us wonderful songs like this! BRAVOOOOOO!
I really like it, but you have to fix some distortion in mastering... over time I have learned that it is not enough to know how to make a good song, it must also be perfect in audio quality, otherwise many of those who listen will only remember that it sounded bad, not that it was beautiful! Fix the fixable, then i set this as fav!
My god! I felt chills of terror behind my spine ... luckily I remembered to close my eyes to listen to your tracks, so as not to have distractions ... woah, I'm still shaking ...
The track sounds good but something seems to be missing ... I like it but not all the way ... maybe because the small accelerating sound in the background is constantly repeated, its volume makes sure that the brain doesn't get used and in the end it makes it a bit boring ... but it's my humble opinion, not the absolute truth. However, overall, good audio quality (which is the main thing of all the songs), maybe some game of voices or singing in full was fine. Does it fit?
Good audio quality, despite the waveform would suggest a certain distortion ... I notice something that reminds me of "The big Jump" by the Chemical Brothers ... overall it's a good job, but it sounds too minimal for my taste ... perhaps deserved a more complex development (and certainly a vocal track).
Damn, it's too short! ah... i can play it twice... er, i like the sad setting here, piano chords are very similar to my style. Maybe some fixing on balancing sounds where your verse are placed and the drumloop maybe deserve more variations. Def set as fav and download!
means a lot henry.
meant to spit my vocals a little off the core beat
but i do take your words into consideration
would love to make a full track but felt like i could really only fit a good full verse in the way it was timed
love Notahs production would love to do more with them
Not bad, but for sure missing something that makes this track special... give an ambient to drums, for example, in my ears seems too flat. Moreover, as it was developed it is also difficult to put a vocal track on it, because in my opinion the best part (0:37 to 1:07) sound only once while deserve to be repeated. The ending drumline needs some variations, in a so short track can sound little little boring. Really like the use of vintage ride on this, is one of my favourite samples. I don't know if it's your first track ever, anyway you can definitely improve, after all it's not so bad.
I admit I don't know the original song, but this work is perfect, the voice is very similar to that of the FOB singer, the guitars have the right volume, maybe the drums would deserve more evidence, but overall it's a work of excellent quality, extremely clean and professional! My warmest congratulations!
Everything's at tha right place, man. Believe me, since hip hop is not my style, but i give a chance (luckily)! Why cut off? Is that the real end of story? I like it, fav!
To be true, after 1st minute i find this a little boring, then.... somenthing happened in my mind... maybe because i close my eyes and keep listening, so i find the right way to listen to this. What can i say, that other commentors still not?
Oh yeeeesss, oh yeeeeessss, ooooooooooooh yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessss! I'm so happy i help you to reach a better sound! More fatty bass, pads at the right moment, vocal treatment puts something more to this!!! Absolutely yesss!
