Yes. I would love for you to add things to the track. Would you like for me to send the stems to you? If so, send me your email address. I cannot wait to hear what you come up with.
man, you rock. the melodies/harmonies combined with the vocals are very well chosen. again that mix sounds so good on my headphones. great balance of energy and clarity. masterfully crafted
hallo Soap
this is fantastic, what a pleasure to listen to. really impressive arrangement and mixing, exactly my gusto.
while listening i was already looking to listen to more of Yahaliii's vocals but alas i couldn't find anything by that name. maybe renamed or deleted, you know something?
hello Orlando
this sounds wonderful and stays interesting throughout. very good attention to detail and every part adds up to a very smooth and nicely flowing arrangement. it's a pleasure to listen to for me.
i wish someone would sing to this, some great combination could be found i believe. maybe i'll try but i don't have high hopes :P
Hello Danke
This is mixed well, sounds excellent. I also like the interacting guitar melodies, they create good contrapuntal movement. Great bass playing, as well as the drums. This could easily be some official quake or doom music.
I hope you are doing fine - greetings to your bandmates too and keep rocking!
Good to hear from you really ... We're fine ... every 3 children lives his/her healthy actual life in time ... :-)
I play music in freetime with the band and here, so what else do I need??? :-)
Hope all is well over there, too ...
Appreciation with my fistbump, Danke
Great vocals and workable idea for a beat already. You just need to flesh it out a bit more and it'll be amazing. I'm glad to help if it's still needed but I feel like you got this.
liking your additions so far. it is inspiring to me as well, feeling the vibe. didn't mind the guitar bounciness so far. mix needs a little care but nothing too big, i am sure you got it sorted in your mind already since you mentioned it yourself. looking forward to upcoming versions. keep me posted on this one, cheers!
Thanks Man...
There are some touch up to be had, over all it's just moves
volume wise...
For now I want to see how a voice, response to what's going
on then it would be easier, to move with it's groove...
If you get my drift...
Thanks again for stopping in and you kind comment...
picked excellent loops to start with but you also took it to the next level with that arrangement and production in 16 hours. impressive work mate, coherent tune and works well - very enjoyable vibe
awesome stuff man, i am shaking my ass off here to this funkiness. it has some great unpredictable elements in here, i like that a lot. yeah this is fresh and also i feel like your sounds and mixes are improving a lot, that is really sweet alex and makes me happy!!!!!!! :)))
listen to this urges me to sit at my keyboard and load some oldschool keys patch and it never disappoints in regards to the fun levels that can be reached just by playing along *FUNKEH* stuff exactly like this. this is a requirement in my funk playlist, great work!
the intro is already incredible, took me right in.
far-out wideness in the mix and that glockenspiel at around 1:26 was exquisite - that's exactly what gets me going!
also digging the subtle but delicious keys sprinkled in every once in a while.
this is a catalyst for letting the mind wander to wherever it gets lured by the timeless beauty of music!
this kicks butt guys. you did this overnight, that's impressive and deserves a hats off at the least.
very natural sounding mix and that's some excellent singing being done by your brother. please give my compliments to him. as for you and how you took care of everything else the way you did: hats off! :)
wowie! that's maybe not what you wanna hear but this is awesome man. :D
i knew already that you make fantastic tunes, i remember coffee at angeliques. love the vibes here too and i can feel it was made with passion and reckless attention to detail.
what follows now is extreme nit-picking stuff and honestly i don't even feel comfortable saying this because ultimately it comes down to personal interpretation and preferences. for me at around 1:57 i think there are even some sexier notes hidden, i can't exactly tell what or how to fix it. it's usually trial and error here and i know it can be tricky to not get used to a part that you have heard looping for an hour.
besides that i can't fault anything. for my taste and hearing capabilities it is pretty much perfect. to be fair i haven't slept very much last night and spent the last 10 hours or so mixing and it's safe to say i am very tired. but i listened on headphones and i perceived it as brilliant. no... freaking brilliant!
i am hearing many adorable influences in here. for example the art of noise and guy sigsworth came to mind. the chords in the end kill it (in a good way).
will have to listen again and again. in case i should come up with something that's actually useful i would definitely get back to you and let you know.
thanks for the download as well!
cheers
Wowie! is actually exactly what I'm looking for :-). Thanks again for the kind words. About the alledged nit-picking, that's also something I am looking for. The devil is in the detail, so anything to improve my tracks/ability to create them is more than welcome.
I listened to the part you mentioned. I completely understand what you're saying by not hearing it any more after listening to it for not just an hour, but many :-). However, I just picked it up and to be honest, that specific part was meant to be kind of empty or sober. I did however change pitch several times in the acapella. Maybe I did could have chosen something else, but I am not sure either.
Art of noise has been a hige favorite for me since Moments in Love. So refreshing and renewing. Guy Sigsworth I don't know, but will look it up later today.
Let me know if you have found anything else to add by now :-).
great stuff, it's extremely stylish and funky in a minimalistic way. love that you used a rhodes as the one vst, you made elements that work well together and i can completely relate to the tune.
that chick corea one is out of this world, he continues to be a great source of inspiration for me as well.
hey guys
after that second pluck i was excited already and knew i will like this.
the way the background comes trickeling in is quite literally music to my ears and gives me the "benign goosebump chills", for i lack a better definition.
i don't mind long intros either if it's not just the same bars looped for 3 mins.
not only the harmonic aspect was done very much to my liking but also the mix is superb, kudos for that.
the low end is beautifully done and everything else sits nicely spread in its intended location.
the string and the flute sections were also really cool.
great stuff!
just found this when i came looking what's up around here and saw joe's funk challenge and then there this tune from you.
the first part reminded me of an old synthesizer sampler my dad used to listen to a lot, the only thing i remember was on there is chariots of fire from vangelis, but seems like he was just a big fat plagiarist. it reminded me of something else though, but i can't remember neither a track nor an artist name.
considering you used given loops you put together a hell of a progressive journey combining many influences. good ears my friend. you turned it into an interesting and enjoyable prog hotpot. also nice experimental touch at times but never going overboard. ending with the flute again is also a good idea and rounds it up well, plus the chord progressions there were excellent for my taste.
hey alex, that's a delightfully smooth tune. love the way you're operating the rhodes and the percussions are very pertinent to the vibe.
also i think the point DrvanLansberg12 was making about a muted brass solo is really excellent and should be given a whirl. same about the female jazzy vocals, although those might be a bit harder to do on your own :D
great work my friend!
hi. thanks a lot! I am trying currently to get even more into a bepop and overall down-to-earth jazz improvised stuff. there's so much other things to care about for at the moment but I will try to produce more music like this soon anyway.
I can't make this one sound better.
thanks again doudei for some thoughts and inspiration. best, alex
sehr bemerkenswerts rock instrumental. macht sofort laune und begeistert bis zum schluss. kräftiger, kohärenter mix und kurzweiliges arrangement. eins für die PL, danke!
cheers
what a great track Bear, very emotional and quite progressive!
glad i've found this just before, better late than never.
this reminded me of some earlier shadow gallery material, which i adore so much. also mixwise i enjoyed it thoroughly.
one thing that i noticed - and please note that it's very minor - was at 1:54. the guitar melody placement felt a bit centric and narrow in the mix. it caused the sound to be perceived somewhat out of place in the acoustic context of the other sound sources. i feel like i am lacking the proper terms, but i mean strictly from a physical point of view and not a musical one. musically everything fits perfectly.
this guitar sound stood out slightly in the soundscape, like a tiny incoherency in the mix. not exactly sure why or what to do. maybe it was a mono track and could use another touch room or hall reverb or a very short and subtle delay to give it some more stereo spread. maybe even just slight volume adjustments.
of course this is a very subjective perception and my speculations may seem very far fetched & stupid in another listening environment. i'm just putting out there what was going through my head when i listened. i hope part of it made somewhat sense at least.
by the way, i was listening with headphones and it's even possible that it is only noticeable when listening to the left and right channel exclusively with the according left or right ear, as is usually the case with headphones that don't crossfeed.
last but not least, the fact that this very specific and not too obvious gripe of mine is literally the only thing that i found to criticize in this track speaks for the track itself.
cheers!
sweet, i dig it.
sparked my interest when i saw you were looking for other people that are into soul, fusion and that stuff. i am definitely into that stuff and always up for collabs with likeminded people whenever i have time.
catch you later man and always keep it going
hey man`
i like it and it has potential. any plans to take this further or make something new?
lovely piano and in retrospect it seems to me also more suitable for keys than guitar, but i can imagine adding a rhythmic textural guitar in the background and maybe a voiced lead guit over the whole thing - i would try to channel some gilmour strat magic, can't go wrong with that :D
cheers and all the best
