thanks for the super quick response Paul
the link you mentioned seems to be a generic one that points to the "channel overview" of the logged in user.
i proceeded to look for "lm" and "looperman" in the community/server search but nothing relevant showed up.

yes, important to clarify we don't want to replace anything here. but when i read discord server i immediately thought it would be neat to have a real-time chat or even voice chat to nerd out from time to time.
especially on nights like those when pulling an all-nighter :D (you're also deep in the night at the moment, no?)
or even play some games together!

don't worry about the server invite now though, surely you have more important matters at hand if you're still up - there is absolutely no rush.
so long and thanks :)

thanks Doudei, its so easy to swap files and if your working and others are about you can always get inspiration from them, get feedback as your making your track etc our ideas are to make collabs easier, then bring the finished track to LM, glad you sorted it

amazing collab, that's what it's all about. i love stuff like this.
the vibe is so soulful, its unreal.
the vocal performances are *chef's kiss*
hits deep, i feel both melancholic and positively optimistic at the same time. i needed that, thanks guys.
Paul, you wrote this is as pro as it gets for you. but i don't know, never say never, my friend!

finally a question: i read in the comments there is a discord link in your profile, but when i tried to join using that it didn't work. i think it was a link to a discord channel. is there also a server invite link that i need and maybe missed? thanks in advance for the help and no rush at all

doudei thanks for such a wonderful comment, we all enjoyed this piece and your right, never say never, but i am realistic :)
the Discord links seem to expire i'll have a look, try this, https://discord.com/channels/@me in your browser if that don't work search LM community on Discord, its just to make collabing easier, we encourage everyone to upload their collabs to LM you just build it on ours its much easier, we are certainly not distancing from our Home at LM

on Beneath A Better Moon by Orlando51
takes me on a beautifully sounding journey
sweet piano track and also the effects are subtle but effective.
strings are again insanely pretty-sounding and the "spacey" synth with lots of reverb also stood out positively, lending vastness to the atmosphere.
last but not least the drm/perc arrangement is very fitting and has enough variation where called for.
mix-wise it's gentle on the ears. light but not thin and coherent but not monotonous.
another amazing track to relax to, congratulations Leon!

beautifully gritty yet well-defined sound with a groovy bounce. everything is seamlessly integrated, and that low-end is killer, wow. excellent audio manipulation skills on display.
very well done, just shook me up.

on Hanami by POLIMAR
Dear Marco
(saw your name on your soundcloud page)
such wonderful vibe. the sound choices, the arrangement, the mix - all is spot on for my taste.
i already checked out some of your other tracks on soundcloud earlier and every one of them was superb. it's the mark of a skilled producer and musician to be able to work with many different genres and add a personal touch, all while making it look easy.

le tolgo il cappello, signore

PS: i think amva - who wrote the comment before me - didn't mean literally sick, but used it as an expression to say it's very good. at least i think so :)

on CATS EYES Instrumental by laurentwirz
enjoying the vibe, excellent use of different instruments and motifs. i feel like there are some sounds that are not in the groove starting at around 1:34 and going on a for a bit, as if something was accidentally nudged and got out of sync? but that's the only minor thing i noticed, very cool otherwise!

on Tell Me Your Side by Morash
loving the vibe, super mellow atmosphere and soulful progressions. good work on the mix, sounds pretty clean! as i was listening, i imagined some cool reharmonizations in my head. also thought an interlude or a B-part could really spice up the arrangement, just to add some unexpected twists. throwing in a few surprising chords and bass moves here and thereits all about the tension and release with these chord sequences. well... when isnt it, right?
what youve got already is solid, but i feel like it still has potential to be more! i don't want to be negative, quite the opposite. i want to motivate and encourage you to keep working on and playing around with it more. then you will easily take this from great (which it already is) to outstanding. all the best!

hey, thanks for sharing your story and thoughts.

thanks for putting a smile on my face doudei, being an awesome grandad is the greatest achievement i will ever have, becoming a dad was the greatest but when you become a grandparent, its a new level, its a magical level, its like stepping out the wardrobe in Narnia, kept pinching myself is this real.
and i'll take this opportunity to say nice chillout track bro, i listened the other day and again earlier, i would have commented but they are switched off

ultra entspannend und inspirierend. musste mich beim zweiten durchgang prompt ans piano setzen und bisschen mitspielen.
einige hammer synth sounds hast da, würde gerne mal ein paar patches studieren :)

Danke!

it makes so much sense now but also i feel quite unaware...
sehr schön gemacht!

on your no longer here now by dimestop
i am sorry for you loss and what you did here is an outstanding way to cope with losing someone.
a heart-wrenching track that weaves the complex tapestry of loss and sadness into a poignant song. the harmonies are steeped in emotion and every word is a raw, honest tribute to the heartache of loss.
there's a genuine display of vulnerability evident. the melancholic song has a beautiful way of encapsulating the grief of losing someone dear. is this you singing? really good, it fits so well.
amidst the profound sadness there's a sense of solace setting in, just like when we get older and more wise and get more experienced to cope better with whatever life throws at us. like any other skill this also can be learned through shared sorrow, from the cathartic experience of acknowledging our deepest emotions and facing them head-on - as you evidently understand already.
this piece is evidence for the strength of the human spirit and the indomitable power of music to heal, express and to connect us in our shared and at times utterly flawed yet still beautiful human experience.
you crafted a deeply touching musical work of art. this is not just a tune, but a journey through the spectrum of human emotion and i can tell you this is a beacon of light for those navigating through the labyrinth of loss.
it's sad yet beautiful and without a doubt a song that will resonate with anyone who's ever loved and lost. it sure does with me, as my eyes are getting wet just a little bit now. bravo!

thanks for the detailed comment doudei, its appreciated, bro.
loss and grief affect everyone differently, many have suffered loss and yes we come to terms with it eventually.
when its unexpected though, now that's a different thing. the strength of the love you have lost is the big impact, for example a spouse parent child or a sibling has a much larger affect. and how that loss came about affects your thoughts. most here are aware of my loss, i was 15 and my mom was murdered, she was 33. im 56 so have lived double my moms life, and i still have the same questions i had as a kid, they'll never be answered, i will go to my grave with the question why? its the suddenness that does the damage, i ache for my mom, she missed everything, i have 2 children one of each i have 4 grandchildren both gave me one of each, im blessed and a have a life worth living but they've all missed out on a nan, although i do have a step mom who i love dearly, but she's not my mom
it affected my life immensely, as a youngster you wanna be brave and not cry in front of your mates, so i hid it, and continued that for 40 years, all though im sure some may have had an idea something wasn't right but they not gonna say nothing unless you do, it was early '80's, mental health and the stigma around it is not the same now, its far more talked about, sharing your problems is a massive help though, it doesn't take the pain away but it lightens the load your carrying. doctors just wanna give you anti-depressants, no thanks. i opened up, that was my medicine, i consider myself a survivor, ive not beat it, ive learnt to live with it.
and yes that is me singing, Matthias produced the music he lost his younger brother last year mid 30's, so you got 2 looper colleagues and good friends too, put real heart and soul into this piece.
please don't feel sorry for us, it wont change anything, just be happy for the short time time we had with them, im proud of my scars and happy to show the
thanks for the time you gave us here, its appreciated, bro.

on Etude For Nevi by Orlando51
that is exactly the type of track i need at the moment.
so calming, it's settling my nerves and makes me feel grounded.
the arrangement feels natural and all the sounds are balanced and mixed together well.
is the electric guitar sampled and you programmed the melody?
or even synth? either way, it flows smoothly and sounds great - gives me some vai vibes. the drum + percs sound excellent as well.
piano at 3:47 is exactly what was needed now. i would maybe even add another melody on the piano after the first bar or two, make it into moving intervals/chords or maybe an arp going with the guitar. it's not needed at all, just some thoughts i had. but i tend to overdo it anyway... :P
i enjoyed listening - wonderful stuff!

on No To Yes Featuring SilverBella by doofus
great vocals indeed but on the other hand you also did a fantastic job embedding this in your sound.
to me that's very nicely mixed and arranged, especially liking those tasty bass and rhodes lines. not much else needed next to those strong elements tbh, just letting the vocals shine - love it.

hallo Leon!
already loving this after 10 seconds and can say these will be some yummy strings. going to F# instead of C# was a pleasant surprise.
guitar fits very well, did you record this guitar phrase? it's constant rhythm is guiding the rest nicely as we wait for the percussions.
the solo bowed instrument is insane, what is it? did you have to program this or even play it?
here comes the beat now, digging the flow.
i am sitting in my chair comfortably at 1:40 AM and getting carried away by your lovely music. it has a meditative effect and helps me relax and focus - thanks.
oh also, is it possible to see the picture this was based on? i already was creating an image in my head and it could be fun to compare it to the actual thing you used as inspiration.
andreas vollenweider the harp player also used to hang images and paintings in the studio when they were in a creative phase and looking for inspiration. and clearly it worked like a charm. :)

glad to catch up slowly. this is already super nice and i can't wait to listen to more if it's all of such high quality.
impressive work my friend, very well done indeed
