on Ambiguity by guitarjock
I like this one even more. In some ways your style reminds me of marty friedman and that's totally meant as a compliment.
The drum work is excellent with lots of variation and the faith no more style keyboard sound was a nice touch as well.
This one would have been a download had the option been there.
Hot stuff man!

Dude! You've got finger skills, ear skills and idea skills.
That pretty much covers everything as far as i'm concerned.
It's a small accolade but Allen V picked you as his tune of the day https://www.looperman.com/forum/thread/177378?page=4
Well it got me over here so clearly it works.
Anyway, Now i've heard one, More is inevitable!
Well done.

on Unbreakable - SpellJammer and BonesRecordz by AllenV
You put a new track up and i missed it?
This is quality. That guitar sounds almost synth like at times. Really well produced, Loads of soul behind this. It's like chocolate melting in your mouth.
i can't pick fault with this track at all.
Get in there!!

Thanks FR,I used my Zoom pedal and over saturated the guitar beyond normal for the tone.
Oh,it's not one you missed,Bones had it up for a year,I just wanted in on the action:)

on Digital Desert by MeaganRose
I can't help but find it slightly irritating when i hear a quality track that seems to have slipped through the net.
This is ace! I love the metalic percussion, It's a bit like the terminator on a chill pill or something.
Production wise everything sounds well balanced with a subtle use of efx and it has a unique flavour which i really dig.
Zero downloads!!! We'll soon see about that!!
Great work.

on Infinity Flux by visionarysoundsystem
I always like a fellow musician who's not afraid to venture into different genres and show a bit of diversity.
This sounds really old school mate, Like the stuff from the 90's and i dig this funky groove.
It's great when a vocal just works isn't it. Doesn't happen very often.
Don't suppose you'd be up for me doing a remix of this would ya?

Free my friend you are more then welcome to remix this, or any other track available for download. If you want a non- download track let me know mate. I would like to be able to say I could send you the stems but I still ain't worked out how to do that yet.
Thanx so very much fot the listen & reveiw Free. It is much appreciated. This was one of the 1st tracks I done with a full vocal on it and to have it recognised is a big up for me. Again thanx so much for taking time to check things out.

on Open your eyes Riddim by Redgold
What? Only one comment??? I dunno what's going on round here but it seems like there's a definite lack of motivation in the air.
I really enjoyed this and as i was listening i was franticly going throug vocal loops i've got to see if anything would fit but alas, nothing in the right key.
Anyway, great work as usual my friend.
Bravo!

on Serious Sounds by simmerdown
Well first of all i'm diggin the new avatar. I've been getting into the dub sound just off late so i'm feeling this. Excellent placement of sounds, The atmosphere has that kind of 8 track feel to it & in some ways i wish i hadn't played it, because i now know i've got a long journey ahead to get good at this genre.
Great work.

on A brief moment of clarity by ALXSIX
I decided to stop for another one as i enjoyed the last so much.
There's good ideas going on in this tune, It reminds me a little of Leftfield in some respects. But, (I hate doing "buts" but we all need 'em sometimes) it's a bit "crowded" sounding, especially round the low frequencies. Ah! Now that windy thing has stopped i can hear whats going on. There's your culprit! If you take some of the low end out of that then problem solved really.
The rest of it is really good so a one minute tweak would make all the difference in this case.

ALXSIX
ALXSIX replied 31st Mar 2012 - 13 years ago
Buts are why I put such tracks here, esp. when it's a genre I'm not used to. So thanks for the real feedback! I don't have a good system when it comes to low freq so it's always hard for me to tweak that part. I wanted to give the impression of a overwhelming sound but I guess it was too much. Well, I'll fix that asap and see how it goes, thanks again for the comments!

on On the top of a dead tree by ALXSIX
You've nailed it with this one mate. The variety of sounds you've use creates a spooky atmosphere that would be great as a backdrop for a ghost flick or possibly a spooky video game.
This has got my day off to a good start.

on You know something by StephenPotter
Alright mush.
Saw you pop up in the featured track section so i thought i'd drop by.
Well i have to say this track should have bagged more than just 4 (including this one) measly reviews.
It reminds me a little of Milo with regards to the synth lick (except not as boring lol). Nice touch with the vocder and the percussion.
A failed collab in this case is a good thing.

No idea you'd returned to the site, don't know if you've revealed your identity, but I know who you are. Great to hear from you.
Surprised tracks like this are still getting reviewed. Glad you liked it, but even at the time I felt that this was just far too simplistic... meh. Glad that people like it though.
I'll get back to reviewing, ASAP. If I've not done it in about two days, let me know, cause I may have forgotten :P

Everybody throw your hands in the air!!! Excellent deep trance track Koukotsu. There's a dark edgyness to this which always tickles my senses. In short, It kicks ass and it's my fav tune of the day.

on F It Im Dead by thephilosofist
I can see what Cyberson means with the Orbital comparison. I used to listen to them a lot and this wouldn't be out of place on one of their albums.
Nice and chilled all the way and i especially like the "woowoo" synth.
Well done.

on Ghosts by CyberSon
This is twisted mate. I particularly like it from about the half way point where the beat comes in harder.
I can see where your coming from with the ghost thing. It has a feel of something trying to break through from another dimension.
Bring the vocal forward a bit though, I only caught some of what it said (but that might just be because i'm old and deaf)
Anyway, I dig the "differentness" (if there's such a word) of this track.

Hi FR. Thanks for checking this out my good friend. You know, this is twisted and I'm glad that you found the element I was looking for.

In terms of the vocals, I really don't like my vocal ability and the meens of recording them. I would love someone to say to me "Great lyrics guy! But can I sing for you?"

Anyways, thank you so much for your time and kind review.

Agreed this sounds much more polished and the vocal work is splendido!

Glad i made you laugh, think i lost it with that review! the tune i posted the "with a shotgun" review on was a hip hop tune in the wrong section so it was an even bigger ballzup! Main thing is glad u liked the track!

on Way To Go by EDGEPRO
Ha ha! Are you sure you're talking about the right track this time Mr sn76?
I have to agree with the first comment if i'm completely honest. It's definitely hip hop. You should switch the genre and you'll get more hits.
Still, Nice carribean edge to this piece. Perfect for a summers day!

on Improv 1 by xpekt
This is really having it mate. I thought it was going to be like an acoustic solo piece to begin with and then..........It exploded.
I'm no rock specialist but this gets your head nodding and blasts your senses with a wall of sound.
I particularly liked the drum patterns you used to accompany the blasting guitars.
Good stuff & a big thumbs up!

Thanks Radical :) I did this in about an hour.. and as you pointed out the drums are really cool so I just recorded some guitars over them.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and reviewing the track :)

on I Dream of You muzic by RichieWinn by FullCapicityMuzic
Wow! You guys nailed that classic blues sound like Wesley Snipes nails his tax bills with his paper shredder. Now you might think that's a strange analogy but let me tell you nobody, but nobody shreds tax bills like Wesley Snipes!
That's how good this track is!

on humans running on solar power part I and II by oldschoolfrosty
I really like the piece you've created here. The guitars are excellent although in places it seems a little overpowered by the bass. Maybe a few more high frequencies on the guitars would do the trick.
Nice usage of ambient effects and the percussion was a nice touch. I think you'd probably get more hits if you put in the rock or metal genre though.
Nice work.

on THA ALLEYWAY by yeshintae
Hey hey it's Sunday Yeshintae! So i thought i'd drop by and see what you've been doing. This is a pretty hot hip hop beat you've whipped up. The usual deep basslines that i would expect from you & banging beat to accompany it. It would be better if it had some vocals over the top of it though. Just a thought.
Take it easy man.

on BILBOZO - MODERN WORLD by Bilbozo
The first thing that strikes me about this is the sheer complexity of it. I think you used more notes in this track than i've used the whole time i've been doing music lol.
Your guitar playing is spot on throughout, the mix is crystal clear and the orchestral backing track couldn't be better.
i shouldn't stop by your profile to often, Your stuffs so oozing with talent It makes me think "maybe i should just give up" lol
It was a pleasure to listen to.

on Alone I Stand by AngelFox2580
You've nailed it with this one. This is everything that a cinematic piece should be. There's plenty of drama and suspense, the opera voices work well and it's just pretty bloody excellent really.
PS That's one cool avatar.

on Bang - The Secred drink from India by Evolushroom
I'm digging the vibe of this. The percussion section is excellent.
The reverb on the vocal has a little too much low end for my liking. I'd drop some of that low out and maybe crank up the mid/high frequencies around the 3000hz area.
Aside from that it was a pleasure to listen to.

Thought i'd have a mosey through your playlist and see what i could find.
Another excellent piece of work going on here. Dreamy pads and softened beats for a nice summery vibe.
The only thing i'd say is the clap is a little annoying (I'm not sh*gging her again lol)
Anyway, Always a pleasure to stop by. Keep on keeping on.

on Not to fall in love by sn76
Patricia seems to be monopolizing the vocal tracks at the moment and it's easy to see why. This is kind of like acid jazz meets jungle and it all works niceley together.
i can't pick fault with what you've done here although i can't help feeling like you could get away with inserting another layer of something like a string section or maybe a pad to compliment the chords.
Excellent work with that vocal though dude and as pleasure to listen to.

on The Road Home (update) by AllenV
Alright Allen, Only me again.
I listened to this yesterday and thought what a splendid tune. I've downloaded it because A: I think it's great and because B: I was hoping you wouldn't mind if i attempted the unthinkable with it? ie. try some sort of remix? I don't have a clue how i'd go about it or what the end result will be like but i guess that's the attraction of it. Will it work????
Anyway, I'll hold back until i get your opinion.
Cheers mate.
