You certainly know how to rap my friend. The lyrics are good, the pace is relentless and i have to respect the amount of time it must take to write four minutes worth of lyrics.
The back beat is good with a good mixture of instruments.
The piano and violin compliment each other very well and the big bass drum gives it that extra oomph!!!
I can't pick fault with this so it's 2 thumbs up from me.
FR
I like this track apart from that first piano lick (it sounds really flat and dry)
As soon as the other instruments came in the track turned good and i can tell you've put a lot of effort into the music in this piece.
On the whole i like this track, just do something about that piano sound and the ending is quite abrupt as well.
Good ideas but needs more work.
FR
I don't know much about hip hop but i reckon that this track would sound so much better if you only used that turf gold music sample at the beginning. It gets in the way of the rest of the track, which is incidentally very good.
I see i'm not the first person to mention about the over use of the sample but if you took that out it would be a great track.
FR
digging this here groove. That bass is dirty but i mean that in a good way. It sort of makes me think this is what happens when trip hop meets dubstep or sum ting.
Ah, the spooky synths have come in now and they give it an electro kind of twist.
This is great and it's making me think i need to write something down tempo with more boom in it.
Really enjoyed listening to this and i'm downloading it so i can listen to it some more.
FR
Thought i'd home in on some "electro" and i got a surprise.
This is retro electro, these days the term electro has been hijacked by another kind of dance music, as has hardcore and a whole bunch of others. Anyway enough with the nostalgic nonsense and on to the track.
love the combination of real and synthetic instruments, i keep meaning to do that myself but never get round to buying the gear to do it. If i hear enough tracks like this it might spur me on to do so.
This was a really fun to listen to track Larry/Mark and i will definitely be back for more.
FR
Totally agree with your opening comments! thanks for listening and liking, your comments are much appreciated too. The whole track was created using eJay Dance 6, which cost around £25, a great buy! however sometimes final mastering can be a bit difficult!. Once again a big thanks.
I like the intro and the bass, but after the first drum roll that guitar thing is slightly out of time which makes it sound anoying. Move it a step or half a step to the left.
You've got some good ideas but that one sound kills the whole track.
Everything else is on point.
FR
This is good mate. The music is really well thought out. Perhaps the bass is a tad heavy and could come down a notch as it knocks out some of the dynamics of the other sounds. Otherwise the mix is good. You can hear all the instruments and the atmosphere is great.
I enjoyed your piece.
FR
This is cool mate. It's chill out but it's a little bit trip hop as well.
Really dig the effects you've used throughout the track. The guitar sounds almost like a synth.
The riff is funky and you keep it interesting all the way through.
I dig this vibe.
FR
This is a nice piece of ambience. The organ gives it a heavenly kind of feeling and the guitar is about as mellow as you can get.
The other instruments and the pads compliment each other beautifully and although the piece is short it really hits the spot.
FR
Since it's called i won't forget you i thought i'd remind you it's there lol (If you're anything like me you never play your old tracks ((unless your p**ssed and trying to impress your mates)))
This is a really nice piece of music. Not the upbeat trance sound of yours i'm used to hearing but they do say variety is the spice of life.
There is a slight hiss on the vocals but other than that it's a beauty of a track.
FR
Nice piece of rock music. Particularly like the use of the guitar harmonics and the chorus effect.
This is a bouncy and uplifting piece of music.
Well worth listening to.
Keep it up.
FR
This has the makings of a great track but just over a minute and a half is an intro as far as i'm concerned.
The mix is good and so is the riff but it needs about another five or six minutes earn the title of a track.
Good stuff all the same.
FR
Ah yes, this is propper chill out music. Sounds like something from the Real Ibiza series.
It's mixed very well, your choice of synths and effects is all spot on and very well blended.
I'm too hyper to write this kind of stuff but i wish i could, because every time i hear a good piece of chill out i want to have a go at it.
Maybe one day i'll get there. In the mean time i'll just kick back and enjoy the rest of this.
FR
The fool huh? I'm absolutlely flattered that you took time out to write a song about me.
So far it's not sounding very foolish. I'm getting scenes of an old wild west town, sitting in the saloon bar chugging a beer (or ten)
The production on this is crystal clear, sounds like you just restrung your guitar and that harmonica is sweet.
As always..........SPOT ON!!!
FR
Actually it was my actions that forced me to chose the title but everything worked out in the long run. Personally, I like this one, a little partial to these western songs I reckon. I've been getting into the harp lately and been finding it works in my music more than I thought it would.
Thanks for reminding me, beer chugging on the docket later.
Hip hop isn't a genre i'm particularly good with so i'm probably not the best to comment on this.
However, i like what i'm hearing. The music is great, especially the piano. The vocal could do with being a tad louder in places as it's obscured a little by the bass.
That said, this is a good track and i like the way you used both male and female vocalists. It changes the flavour of the track.
It's an imaginitive track and i enjoyed listening to it.
FR
Nice combination of singing a rapping. This is one cool sound you've layed down here.
Like the reverse effect on the vocal and the lyrics are good an all.
I enjoyed listenining to this piece.
FR
Thank you FreeRadical. Glad you liked it and noticed the little vocal effect lol. I've submitted this track to be on a Coast 2 Coast mixtape hosted by PHAROAHE MONCH. Hopefully it gets enough votes!
Hey Pat, Thought i'd check out your latest offering and once again it's a propper mind bender. It's a shame you opted out on the vocals as i like your vocal style.
This reminds me in places of a dark and twisted video game like doom or something.
Your unique style really shines through on this track, it's like a haunted house or something.
PS already started using some of the sounds from that pack you uploaded. There's some useful stuff in there.
Great track.
FR
Hey friend, thanks very much for stopping in! I will be back on the vocals soon, just felt like taking it easy for a couple days. Used to love playing Doom, so that's cool! Our house is a little haunted, so maybe that's what you're hearing in there? Glad you're having some fun with those sounds I made. Just sounded like fun to distribute sounds from some of the gear I built. I appreciate the listen and comment!
I'm one of the few people on this planet that loves techno so i had to home in on this one.
I have to say it sounds more like trance to me but hey ho, i like that as well.
The melody is good, every sound has it's own place in the mix and it's all been levelled out beautifully.
Like it when the main riff kicks in. It's got good drops and transitions and i could probably bollock on all day about how great it is but i'm bored with typing now, so i'm just gonna download it.
FR
Hahaha well a friend of mine once said this came close to paragonx9 with the sounds and all the stuff, which was very nice to hear but I thought this was rather techno since trance features more of the repetitive beats and slow builds.
Nevertheless thanks for your comment ;)
it was one of my earliest works so I really am glad that you enjoy it
I don't know how i missed this one as i liked the other mix you did of this.
This one reminds me a little of Morcheeba (remember them?)
Like the back track, the vocals are spot on and fit the piece perfectly.
There is a slight crackle coming from somewhere when the full mix is playing but perhaps that was done on purpose?
Anyway, cracking stuff mate. You really need to use your week off to get back into this as we're still all waiting for your first track of the year.
FR
Hi mate thanks for review, Bonnies voice is amazing, and so versatile, I think she can sit comfortably in any genre she pleases. The crackle is a vinyl crackle from somewhere, I had forgotten till you pointed it out again ha ha.
nice bassline and atmospherics. It's reminding me a little of royksopp (but only a little)
Like the way all the instruments creep in slowly and build up layer upon layer.
There's a thing in the background that sounds a bit like a metronome which was a pretty cool addition.
Nice Piece
FR
his words are golden my friend.
thank you for your presence here, and by this comment encouraging.
might sound you hear in the background, is isolated small notes of the (lead) if what I'm thinking.
are you put them in the spaces between the notes, to give an aquatic feel.
smooth and beautiful. You've made that acapella sound superb with those electric piano chords (is that a rhodes?)
Then the string section comes in and i have to say it's quite the opposite of my row that you left comments on.
Digging that saxaphone as well.
This track is really pleasant on your ears, I've not long woken up and i think i might go back to sleep after this.
Cheers for chilling me out.
FR
Hey thanks FreeRadical for the kind words. Appreciate you droppin by to listen...always glad to put people at ease with a chillout tune. And yes this is the Rhodes playing in the background. Cheers
Well if this is the first track you've ever made it's not bad at all. I think you should extend the delay on that first synth as it only echoes twice and leaves gaps in the music.
Your production and mix is pretty good but that bass drum that comes in near the end is out of time.
There are good elements here which suggest that you will eventually get to grips with it. NOBODY creates a great track on their first attempt so bear that in mind and keep practicing. You'll get there if you do.
FR
For a first attempt, i thought it wasnt half bad, and i thought about going and redoing parts, but decided to keep it as it was when i first made so there is a clear difference from then (About 1 year ago) and now. And i think ive made great progress.
I have gotton better at those elements, and if you get the chance, take a listen with some of my more recent stuff :)
Thanks for droping by and leaving a comment, it really helps :)
Liking the vibe of this. It's got a real retro feel to it.
I agree the vocal is a tad too loud but other than that the track is sweet.
I like the way you broke it down into the quieter part with the vocal. Sounds really good apart from a little bit of levelling.
I enjoyed this piece.
FR
This is cool as a cucumber mate. Reminds me a little of Deadmau5. The piano riff really sets the scene for the more housy riff that follows.
This is a propper hands in the air dance tune for sure.
FR
Well this is something a little different. There's not much music in this genre on this site so it's nice to hear a bit of variation.
Like the quality of the mix but i can't comment on the lyrics as i can't understand what your saying.
Sounds cool though.
Glad i dropped in.
FR
Thank you for the kind coment mate. Yeah, saddly, its hard to post different genres in this website because people are like "affraid" of them. Thanks bro.
