Play 2 now...
Yeah, I can see what Toxic's sayin about the old skool vibe.
I also dig how the bass on this gives it a nice, dark quality. And the way you've got the synth soundin all hovery is keen too!
Oh, and I dunno if it's just me, but @ around 1:01 there're a few crackle sounds comin out. Dunno if that's intentional or not though. Just wanted to point it out if they weren't. Thanks for sharing. Later on!
(edit)
Hey mate,
completely disregard my last review. I made the mistake of starting another track and then playing this one. Haha opps, my bad. The below still applies though.
Okies play 2 now (new player window)...
Anyways, this track was pretty sweet though I didn't much care for the voc-sams. Beyond that it was jammin. Later on!
Dunno if it's some kinda localized glitch but at aroung 2:48 the song starts playing all messed up. I'll try closing out the window and will play it again to see if it happens again...
Play 2 now...
And it happened again. So I dunno what's going on. Maybe you could try editing your track and re-uploading the file. Check to see if it happens again and let Looperman know, okay?
Beyond that I liked the track, there were bits of it that reminded me of some of the songs on the Wipeout racing games. Thanks for sharing. Later on!
Play 2 now...
Hey mate, I would say that this is more Ambient than Trance. Though if you were planning to add more to this (like bass or drums) than this could very easily morph into a Trance track.
As for the desc, I can see it too. It has a very somber mood to it. Later on!
Great start here mate! Have you thought of maybe redoing the intro to where it'd just start with the synths and then maybe after like one or two loop measures have 'em come in?
Hmm, and maybe throw in some bass after the 0:56 breakdown? At any rate, I'm diggin what you've done so far. Waiting for the finished version. Later on!
Play 2 now...
In a way this reminds me of classic Euro dance stuff (if only minus the vocals ED commonly likes to use).
And with what Salkizar was sayin, there's also another possibility with giving it some extra flavor without having to mess with the loops or arrangement too much. Do some knob tweekin! If ya got a controller for that sort of thing. Just load about 2 or 3 effects and while this is goin along mess with the accent, velocity, volume, etc. I could load this onto one of my SPs to show ya what I mean if you'd like. At any rate, very nice start ya got here. Thanks for sharing. Later on!
Thanks Donnie,
I think I've got to get me one of those SPs (ok what's an SP?..lol). I think I get the idea and I definitely want to do some things like that. What's a good SP to use? I assume you are loading vst effects into it? Send me an email and educate me. I definitely am interested. Thanks for the thoughtful review.

Play 2 now...
The ending stops suddenly? I've got to say that's about the only thing I didn't fancy with this track.
Massive kudos for creating all of those Bongo loops coz I know how hard those can be. Well, they're hard if yer painting the notes on a midi mapper (time consuming mostly).
It sounds like ya had alotta fun makin this song. It kinda reminds me of that groove ya get into when things start falling into place and the track seems to capture the energy right off the bat. Thanks for sharing. Later on!
I recognize some of the loops on this. Ah ha, a fellow Logic user, yes/no?
Umm, as for the genre, hmm? I'm not really seeing it as being 'trance', but there are parts that are really melodic. I think it's the drums that throw it off for me. They're more urbane n tech-elect I'm thinkin. So if I were to guess I'd say that this is more 'fusion'.
And on the 3rd play it sounds like you've got yer head around making cool sounds with which loops to use. Now work on learning the software's other features (like fade-ins and outs of certain loops that are different). And then mess with tweekin the different volume levels in the Mastering mixer. Thanks for sharin. Later on!
Well I got some of the loops from a friend and used some on GarageBand and put all together on GarageBand. Like I said though, I made it when I was twelve I didnt even know all the other stuff I could do at the time, and Ive lost the original project so I cant change anything now. =/
Fusion ehh? Well that sounds good to me, haha. But yeah thanks for the advice and the criticism...it truely is, much appreciated.
Okies, now that you've got a pretty solid arrangement of sounds here I'm gonna suggest that if and when ya go to rework this song ya treat it just like a DJ would who was spinning this in a live mix.
The intro- I'm thinkin could be faded into. Maybe do like a 15 second build up for the track. And once the build is over you could momentarily drop to silence and then bring it back with a big warped/phased bang. I'm also thinkin that it could use some other female type of vox (somethin like the computer on Star Trek or similar).
This is givin me other ideas, but I'll leave 'em off for now.
Overall you've got a really great start on this track mate. Thanks for sharing. Later on!
Haha, that voice... Did u do a spoof recording of the Matrix thing there? And does the other voice say "Wash your ears"? Lolz...
Ya might wanna adjust the sound level of the one synth sequence that starts at around 1:20 because it kinda drowns out the vocal stuff. Either that or drop the vox for that part. Other than that this is a pretty good start. Later on!
You know, it's funny because yesterday there was a discussion about Fl Studios (about it's quality) and then I come to something like this. Nicely done mate!
It's also funny because a few hours ago I was on YouTube floating around listening to some of Robert Miles stuff and in a way I'm reminded of some of his more progressive stuff here.
Though I might note that ya might wanna be careful with that extra long snare fill ya got @ around the 1:40 mark. Other than that this is a pretty solid track (though it could stand to be just a lil longer IMO). Thanks for sharing. Later on!
Hey man thanks for the reveiw.. ive started using this program like a year ago from scratch.. and i was introduced to trance beats i just like them.. especially dj tiesto. so i learnt and start making..
As a producer/musician I'm not on the same level as I am a consumer. This track is a pretty sweet start I'm thinkin, but I feel as if somethings missin from it. Dunno if it's a lack of vocals (which would do it alotta justice IMO) or the fact that without vox it seems kinda flat. Hmmm, maybe sound deep twubbing bass and an additional layer of leads would fit it perfectly.
On it's own I'm kinda reminded of a mix between Offspring and Nirvana. Later on!
There were parts of this that sounded super solid, but there were other parts that the sound jumped around a lil (especially the end when it got all frenzied and loud).
I think I saw what you were going for with this though (and it's a nice vision). The melody worked well with the drum treatment, but I wasn't quite sold on the vocals (dunno why though, maybe it was the mix of tones from rap to growl to singing). At any rate, nice concept though. Later on!
Haha, I recognize that one synth loop ya used in this. And I agree with S4m, nice meaty guitar work. In fact the only thing that I didn't particularly fancy was the voc-sam that ya had on this (well, I'm not a big fan of 'em anyways, but I just thought that it didn't quite match the flow of the song, ya know). Other than that nicely done. Later on!
Awww man, I recognize those drum beats. They're similar to ones Mokeone used in his song Dark House (that I did a remix of, so they kinda just jumped out at me).
And I agree with the desc, very cinematic (specially the build at the beginning, play 2 now). I'm also diggin the modulations ya got on that one synth. Also diggin the lil breaks ya give here and there. Though might I suggest that if ya ever play with this again to make certain parts of it more pronounced (though it could just be my headphones or what have you, that're makin this sound somewhat subdued, shrugs). Later on!
Play 2 now...
Sweet track mate and I'll agree that it's full of atmosphere. Though I'd recommend that if ya fiddle with this again that ya work of the sudden ending. Kinda seems outta place for the overall vibe of the track, ya know? Possibly fade it out?
Later on!
I hadta recheck the time coz for a sec there I thought I was zonin out or smtn.
Okies, 2nd play now. I'm gonna be honest this has got me bobbin my head (kind like that track Canned Beat by Mr.Ozio, but with a smoother vibe to it). And in a way this reminds me of my buddy Splish's style somewhat. Have you ever heard any of his chunes?
And in looking for another thread I saw the one for this. So I'm def glad I could help ya out mate. It's always flattering and cool to hear people come up with chillin grooves like this. And this got me to thinkin, ever consider messin around with the Trip-hop genre? I'm thinkin you'd have fun with it too. Off for now. Lates!
Interesting, I keep forgetting about the Earth's tilt when it comes to seasons. I just think about it's proximity to the sun when it comes to warmth and all that. So what're the days like during your summers, lengthwise? We get 13 hr days here.
As for the track, it has really cool elements, but there are parts that just don't seem to fit from where I'm sitting. Kinda like they feel forced or something. Dunno why I think that, but I do. Maybe it's the voc-sam ya used? (shrugs). Wait... No! I've replayed it and am thinkin that it's a matter of tones. Smooth pads next to a hard bassline. I guess they sound like they're competing. Perhaps you could add some filtered effects to it to soften the overall mix? Or add some distortion to the pads to give 'em some grit? This could go either way, ya know? Later on!
Hmm, the synths on this are dead on, but for some odd reason this feels more like Rave to me (shrugs). Oh, and the way the synths are on this is kinda reminds me of a mix between mortal kombat and knight rider. Thanks for sharing. Later on!
The Hoff Vs mortal kombat......FINISH HIIIIIM! (lol). Yeah you are probably right about rave, I always find it harder to classify my own work. Thanx again for the review.

This was kind of a shorty, wasn't it? And I kind of agree with Eshar. Sounds like 2 different types of songs mixed together. Though if yer into artists like DJ Funk then mini-mixes like this are cool. I just gotta ask, how did you record this, because it sounds kinda funky comin outta my speakers (like bein played out of an old stereo). Interesting though. Later on!
Nice & tribal vibes going on here. Mixed with just the right amount of House flavor. Nice bell-like tones ya used on the piano roll near the beginning. And I recognize that sample, but did you use it throughout the whole thing or did ya scat sing on it near the end? Later on!
Kinda like a mix between Daft Punk & Cold Play. I've got to agree with BeatMaster some of this sounds like it needs to be mixed and mastered just a tad, but overall this is a pretty cool composition. Though, I'm thinkin that most people might not wanna sit through the entire length of it. So maybe you could make like a 'radio edit' for this if ya go to mess with it again. Possibly bringin it down to somewhere bewteen 4- 5:30. Just a suggestion. Okies the keys where I'm at now remind me of some late 60's flick. Rawk on mate. Later on!
thanks mate yeah does need to be mixed nd all that but i no longer have the software used or original save file so i wouldnt be able to the radio edit sounds a nice idea tho anyways thanks for review
Yeah, this is def different. For the first play I actually stopped what I was doing and went to check the time... Man, I'm not use to seein HH joints that long, but I aint complainin. It's actually nice to hear somethin that isn't just some sampler teaser, ya know?
And as for the track, it has 'slow jam' written all over it. I'm also thinkin this could go either way (with lyrics or without). Though lyrically I'm thinkin some Gospel rap or New Jack Swing stuff would fit it best.
There was really only one part that kinda felt outta place compared to traditional HH. And that's the synth line ya used starting around 3:01. I mean it was cool, but more akin to more dancy stuff, ya know. Other than that you were dead on. Lates mate!
As for the track desc, I kinda hear ya. Though it's not so much about being overly critical of my stuff (haha, I think we can all say that I'm the 'scumbag/crap mechanic' when it comes to slappin sounds together). Naw, it's just that every now and then (like currently, for example) I hit dry spells, because I just dunno what to make. So it's inactivity through being indecisive.
(wanna play a game of suggestions? For you I'm gonna say, try your hand at the Space genre- there's a station for it on DI.fm if ya wanna check it out)
Anyways, as for the track. Let's start with some name suggestions first. Hmm, how about...

Yeah, just off the top of my head there. Musically, you did it again mate. Another quality chune right here. Nice layering (especially on the bridge in the 3 minute range). Had an idea for somethin nice for remix purposes afterwards (like do a cutout drop off of everything, but the drums and then some knob tweeks to bring 'em back with some phasing. Like stop, restart muted, bring back in and then drop back out fast 3 or 4 times, stop again, and then restart normal). Anyways nuff gab outta me. Thanks for sharin. Later on!
