Impressive. strong chill mix. Nice capture of the keys and it reminds me of my roots island when all sounds play together. Levels seem clear and heavy enough to share a motivating capture. Thanks for sharing, Stay cool. Peace.

Wsup Stacy, Enjoyed this one, The usage of loops is fun and simple, yet the visualization of this mental awareness is a unique feel. Creative thoughts being used effectively here. May I try something with this?

Wsup iSean, The beat is interesting enough to keep you listening, it works. Liking your selections here. The vocals sticks with you, the message is real still you gotta keep your eyes open to the ones that stayed true to you before the money all the way till there ain't no money. What I get from this, Thanks for sharing. Catchy. Peace.

on Lonely-Kron Studios - EPYK Muzik Mix by ThaEpyk1
Wsup EPYK, Chill mix that goes nice with the additions you've added. Late time thinking, where the intoxication from dreams get you stuck in a moment, wondering about those heavy questions.

The instruments changes are timed well, makes that consistent drum in the back not push you away. Nice, Thanks for sharing, for a downer, ain't feeling too bad. Peace.

on Anxious to the end by evilarmy83
Ea, Good to hear this one today, impressive progress with your music. Getting the editing down with quality. The anxiety I believe has been a beneficial contribution to your style that we've come to known. Levels are sweet, on my system I get the levels adjusted half way full, dude its hella sick. Rock on bro, sometimes these issues help us see. Thanks for sharing, dig it. Peace.

Hey thanx very much!!! I always wonder if all the levels are appropriate because my speaker system at home consists of random speakers and I don't think any two of em' are equal in ohms or watts lol. Thank you again for taking the time!

on Breaking Blue L00P CHALLENGE by Spivkurl
Impressive Spiv creation. Digital frankenstien aka Digi Dokta kind of scene. Used those loops better than I had thought. Nice intro to the PKG recordings log, adds a good element to the mix. A dub with a dub that glitches was an interestn listen Pat. Thanks for sharing. Illusive chemicals? Peace.
Spivkurl
Spivkurl replied 22nd Dec 2014 - 10 years ago
Hey friend, thank you for taking a listen to this one! Can't say I know of the Digi Dokta that you speak of, but maybe I should change that. Groove loops are not the normal thing I seek out, so it was a bit of a stretch, especially since I already had a song idea that I wanted to incorporate them into. Took me a night to figure out what you meant by PKG recordings log, but now I get it... heh. Had had a little vodka and bock by the time this comment came in. I enjoy combining dub and glitch, and I know it's not "traditional" dub (if there is such a thing)... but that was what the style suggested to me. Thank you again for your listen and support! Chemicals, yeah I suppose, but more along the organic lines... 2G/day or so of nugs, 4-8 shots of espresso, and a bit of vodka and malt beverages sprinkled throughout the week. Guessing that's what you meant. Take care!

on Honey Mango Heaven by StaticNomad
Sup man, 6:58 - 7:55 that section is what stayed with me after listening, for me that part means something more.

I guess what makes your tracks like this fun to listen to for me is how you work with mix and match. Each segment builds and builds which is something you do very nice at.

The ending of this version is explosive, like that. And the drum tracks. Simple how you used them yet comes thru complex fun.

Is this the slowest intro you have so far? Wasn't really expecting this kind of chill at first then the usual greets its way back! Like how it gets you going with its nomad architecture. Your slide guitar pieces are cool imo, just like you get these tones clear and the imagination in your music is like magic in a sense, full of wonders.

Have no words for adjustments, sounds good like this, remember imperfection is a feature I've heard.

5:16 - 5:39 dig the chillnes there. Is that an ep your using in this section? The drum pattern in this section really catches my attention a bit too much, what timing did you use for the drumming?

Well at least I got to hear the 11 min version. Am sure the 1k yr version is badas!!

Thanks for sharing Static Nomad, Cool new journey here. How things been? Peace.
StaticNomad
StaticNomad replied 17th Dec 2014 - 11 years ago
Glad you dug 6:58 - 7:55 as it's sort of only there to bridge chillout swing jazz stuff to the fast trance blues in 2nd half. So, I return to the main lead slide resonator theme (from 3:12) but add a few new things eg some vocoded guitar parts (7:19).

Am feeling the hip hop a bit more in that section. A secondary hip hop kit plays the same thing as the acoustic drum kit in a lot of this track (starting at 1:53, as I fatten shit up).

"Each segment builds and builds"

I guess I tend to make a few tracks within each track. Stuff has to build as I like both chilling and hard rocking so must find a way to get things louder. Not so keen on big, awkward jumps. Unless it's specifically for that effect.

"The ending of this version is explosive, like that"

It's fun though I'm not sure it fits the rest of it. Maybe that's good as it's a surprise though I have loads of tracks that build into heavy explosive stuff so not a surprise if you're familiar with my work.

"Is this the slowest intro you have so far?"

Perhaps. Track is 85BPM throughout but intro notes I guess are half tempo so 42.5 though tempo is a funny thing. 85 BPM at double time from 7:54 = 170 BPM.

"Your slide guitar pieces are cool"

Thanks. I'm surprised at how much I can do with it. Done it over so many styles, not sure how many I'll end up doing by the end of my musical career (the Nomad death). It's become my go-to sound and main unusual musical skill. Power, groove and beauty all in one.

"imagination in your music is like magic in a sense, full of wonders."

It is me wondering all the time, thinking of far out stuff, trying to musically connect with things not of this earth. Dreamy escape into other worlds and places.

"Is that an ep your using in this section?"

Don't know what an "ep" is.

5:16-5:39 there are a couple of acoustic drum kits, synth bass, some string stuff, heavenly synths, pretty lead keyboard part also going through a filter swept EQ and reverb FX combo, a complementary keys part and that's it.

"what timing did you use for the drumming?"

Just a swing jazz pattern. I make great use of drumming MIDI files from Superior and EZ expansion packs. That's a real drummer doing that fine playing, though I've carefully edited and layered stuff. I probably couldn't program that up from scratch, not that I need to these days as I have so many great MIDI drum. Yet, I crave more....

Damn right 1K year version is badass. Tough mix there but I only used 10,000 audio tracks. Had to hook up to another planet's power supply to run all that shit on a supercomputer the size of the Grand Canyon.

"How things been?"

OK. But I'm struggling on new, awkward tracks. Trying to merge chillout jazz/blues and grunge/metal but I'm so much better at the chill stuff than the heavy. Must channel some more evil!

Thanks for perhaps your best review yet.

on ITS YOU by Carrol
Yup thats funky.. Nice! Wah wowa. Noticed I listened back a couple times when it hits 0:50 the volume decreases a bit too much, gets lost after that very nice beginning.

As it continues I can hear the mix sounds off balance, example the vocals are at a good level the music is too low (unless that is your intention) the levels just make me feel like im missing out on the funk everyone is jammin too.

With that aside, a good re work of this idea mix. Keep at it and thank you for sharing. Peace.

on Loops And Stuff by FreeRadical
Ha, wow nice experiment dude. You do a good job with the loops, over time you've been getting a lot better in how you use them, some good results here.

I agree with your mix of styles with the loops, can achieve some cool grooves. Levels are good with this track, well I like them for my speaker type. Im gonna have to also say the 1st half is where the hype is for me. 2nd half is not bad though, that one sounds more like house. The other was just badass haha.

I think its a good compilation of your selection used. Fits the theme I would say. Good balance of loops, creative and motivating. Gets one lost in some other place where thoughts do more than the flesh could.

Hope you find someone to match up with the vocals, some deep stuff, i.e. flat line at the end. Thanks for sharing, Keep describing them. Peace.

Nice, like that combo. Silence then the boom -heck yeah dude. Those hats, different color water drops animating a blank page into a scene the camera falls into which then turns to life when the mix of heavy and the synths coexist in this manner. Very vivid sounds man and the combo holds together in agreement as I listen, thanks for sharing. Indeed is ready for some phuken lyrics.

Hey C, This is Something ... Very good. Your cinematic views are impressive. Still come through arranging the loops in an interestingly open world story kind of scene.

The sudden change, shaken cage, tribalnes, vocal hex with its alluring curiousity. What movie was this made for? Seems like I'm watching some type of movie. What an ending nice job with this one C, Thanks for sharing, Peace.

on Limbo Prod by Relevant Beats by SamFrench666
Yo, this is actually pretty cool. Def. some trip in limbo, reminds me to some Gorillaz type of vibe, which I think is very cool. I liked some parts of the lyrics and how you lay it down. Been waking up in the early 'dead' hours and this fits perfect into the scene. Real nice work on instrumental side and vocally. Interesting and something fresh. Keep at it, hope you find that last verse for the song. Thanks for sharing. Peace.

Def good 1st impression of the beginning steps into your mastery journey. Interested to hear the updates along the way. Curious to hear more of this 2nd half missing. For some reason I picture PS1 and GT. Sounds like this could be an intro to some type of racing simulation, Speedsters. Liking this direction.

Thanks for sharing the preview with us, the following pieces should be good. Stay you. Peace.

Def a start to a new hope. Nice way those synths talk to the listener, said to me, "Stand up and lets go, I will take you to a place unknown, far as eye can see, this hope for you and me."

Another step in a new direction for me and I'm starting to appreciate again. Liked the selections of sounds you chose to use, clear pictures and fun vibe. Cool. Thanks for sharing with us, Hope you reach that mark. Peace.

Now this is ds tune I could listen to. Really liked how you used those sfx. Made me think this is a direction dub step could have really made stand out. Game step. Hardly got into this genre but when I hear something like this makes me want to investigate.

Listening seemed like those retro game days haven't really faded out yet, mental trip back while everything spinning forward. That's some cool entertainment man, thanks for the share. Will check back for dl. Keep at it! Peace.

Really enjoyed this instrumental. Dig the strings but mostly that piano. The keys is my familiar bite and this is some tasty sadness man.

This reminded me of the song Thirsty by ODB, no obvious comparison but listen close they have something similar, vibe is right on point. Vampire cult kind of stuff from days of old.

I can imagine this playing with some movie scenes, good solid production overall man. Thanks for sharing, Keep at it. Peace.

on Deptford Moonlight Serenade by DanceDemagogue
misty mornings to baked evenings then followed by mystic nights all in one kind of deal. Does give off an impression of open air expression. Imagination translate this sound work into a few scenes for me. I can imagine this being heard in visual works as well. A painters plate of colors.

I am liking how you did the bass here, the atmospheric sounds are nicely done which makes the track more than it appears. The space you seem to control shares a view of the open air, indeed a serenade here. This is a nice ambient mix, listened a couple times now. Interesting sounds and thanks for sharing it here. Something about it keeps saying Perfect Dark. Keep at it, Peace.
