on Life Story by Tiltedbeats
Wow this track still gives me chills, and thanks to you and Ciko I wrote a spoken word piece because of it. I don't know if you remember? Anyway, I am now going to upload it for others to use if they want. I'll drop the link later just in case you want to use it too, although I love this instrumental.
Where the hell is Ciko these days?

on Remembering You - (Joes Sound Lab) by Joessoundlab
Sorry for your loss. Losing anyone is like a kick in the guts isn't it?

When I lost a friend I found some solace in making tracks in their memory and knowing that they were probably stood at my shoulder watching over me.

This is a beautiful piece. Thank you for sharing.

Now my turn to go "ooo" lol, I'm really digging that bass you've used it's a perfect contrast to the lighter tinkly piano.
I guess I would like to hear some vocals on the track, but the lack of them doesn't detract from this being a pretty decent instrumental.

StereoMathematics replied Unknown
yea, been there for almost a year and no one has put vocals to it. guess that means ill have to find an acapella to put on it. thanks for the review miss sharp, glad you enjoyed it.

on See My Tears (featuring XSITION) by Brent88
A really really nice track. I think I would describe it as RnB more so than pop, but of course there's no doubt that this would be a song that would be popular and get some airplay. A good collaboration as XSITION is an excellent vocalist and your instrumental has a really chilled and mellow vibe that works well with his voice.
Brent88
Brent88 replied Unknown
Thank you Elaine :) funny you say that, i was initially trying to make an RnB song and then i felt like the sound was gettin a little 'poppy'. But i think i'm gonna swap the genre now that you mention it, RnB is more so my area of interest. Thanks again for the review!

I'm loving the sound of that electronic synth bass. I am a bass freak. The use of the pads creates a very ethereal vibe to the track.
I hope more people stop by your page and listen to your work. You have a natural arranging ability it seems to me.

Thanks - glad my ears are still working - shoot after those all those years in Orchestra - I better have a good understanding of music. Everyone on my Father's side of the family plays something - or everything - hahaha. People used to come from all over the neighborhood to listen to the family band which grew with other people who could play. the living room was like 30 by 17 or something with a bay window where the drums were and my father on keyboards on the opposite side of the room on the right side all strings Cello Bass violin guitars jew harps and the left was for the winds - sax trumpet flutes trumbone, frenchhorn, harmonica. my sisters and brother were little they did the tams and claps or wood - hahahaa... in short - I think i picked up a few things - hahaha

Awesome, just kind of thing that I like. I have to agree with Nuada about the blending of styles, and I can understand why you chose Fusion as the genre. This particular piece definitely has some funky and jazzy undertones as well as the Latin and orchestral. I like how it keeps moving and flowing constantly and the transitions are really well executed.

Thank you Elaine very much - I'd done this track earlier in the year when i got a prog. I fell in love - i took a couple days putting this together. My niece helped me by played some of this on her piano. IN FL I can create anything I want so I was following her by ear (not easy)...I banged out a little on the drums and recorded. it was hard to clean up because it was a fun day and we were just messing around and then I worked something out of it. My niece says its the favorite of hers of all the songs I'd done that she'd heard. VEry happy to read your review of the sample from that piece - thank you very much :D

Dola creases me up. I think he probably could give Eminem a run for his money.
I would love to know the story of how you two came to collab.
Your instrumentation is fantastic and in places reminds me of some George Martin inspired Beatles.

An unexpected collab to an extent, but one that works really well.

Hi Elaine..well in actual fact I contacted Dola about a possible collaboration as I'd always found his proto obscenic style almost Dadaist in nature....plus I'd been soaking up all the HH radiation around this place for God knows how long I virtually glowed in the dark..which probably goes to prove the more vociferous a protagonist the closer they are to crossing over..........Nah,I just made all that up! lol cheers Dave :)

Very nice.

Thanks for uploading and letting people get an idea. My first thoughts are that I really like the beat...you've used some nice hard kicks.

Your arrangement seems pretty good. I like the fact that it edges towards minimal in the melody stakes because that gives a chance for your vocals to come through more. I kind of disagree with rolla about your vocals competing with beat because I can hear the lyrics pretty well.

Check out DJ Becca. She's into dubstep in a big way these days and may be able to help you out.

I am really disappointed not to see any reviews for this track especially as this site has, or did have a burgeoning dupstep community.
I really like what you've done, I think this is a really tight production. I'm so pleased you could use the vocals and I thank you for doing so.

on Its been raining by LenaLannergren
A fitting song for me to listen to as I've just finished writing a poem about the rain.

I have to smile about the guy on backing vocals remark...but do not worry my voice is getting deeper all the time too...and actually it makes us very versatile as artists.

I enjoyed the song. :)

on Sad Days by zappo
Ah wow this is awesome...I love the overdubbing of the vocals and although I may be slightly biased I can't agree with Soligen about this not being a great track because it's spoken word. I would respectfully say he doesn't understand what you've understood when you used this pella that's it's about observation...one woman saying to another "why are you with him?" and I think for that kind of situation spoken word is perfect.
I love the jazzy elements, well I just love the whole vibe of the track.
Thank you so much for using my vocals...:D :D :D

Ah the first to review, always an honour.

I like the track, I think you've used some interesting elements, the synths in particular have a nice melodic sound. I'm not sure the bass has enough attitude to reflect the title of the track though...mind you I am a bass freak. On the whole good work.

Thank you much Elaine for the review, always appreciated! Funny what you mentioned about the bass, because I wasn't satisfied with the bass from the start of the track and even after I finished it. I was at a stalemate with how to go about the bass for this track. I'm going to tweak the bass-line tonight at work to see if I can get it to where I had envisioned it. Thanks Again for the review!

on More (Phyruis Glitch Remix) - Elaine Sharp by Phyruis
Ah makes me think of Telefon Tel Aviv a little bit...especially with the glitch but also there is a real chill vibe to the track too. It's strange cos it doesn't sound like the tempo is 170. I really like that chime sound you've included...airport lounges spring to mind and busy travellers and Naomi Campbell with her entourage in tow...there's a lady who certainly always wants more :)
I like it, its different to the original certainly but you've still maintained core elements.

Thank you.

A very cool track...I do like me some dubstep even though the genre has started to become "popular" there is still something about it that makes it edgy and different.
Let me know when your EP is out...are you on Soundcloud or Reverbnation?

I love this track Simon...I'm glad you uploaded it. It reminds me a little bit of a song I used to hear when I was growing up...so perhaps that one reason why it resonates with me, but also it's just a wonderful arrangement and produced so well.

A really nice melody, I liked it a lot and I wrote a few words inspired by your sound.

towards the city, towards the sunrise.
