Damn I just commented on SJWs track page on how he killed it but you really added to this track as well. Both of your styles work really well together. Fire flow, commercial material, deep lyrics, insane delivery!

In my opinion I actually really liked that buildup with the track getting louder leading up to your part. It gave this sense of excitement like something about to blow the listener away is coming and thats exactly what you did.
Now it did get a little too loud but if you control it right the volume increase can work to your advantage in my humble opinion. But thats up to u guys.

So anyway its been a month, how far are you guys regarding a final version? Really looking forward to it.

i was hoping to get the reworked version from SJW but it hasn't happened. i'm going to extend my verse as well so there is no big gap between the verses. I've been really busy with life shit that i havent had the chance to get back in the lab. another week and i will redo this for download.

thanks so much for the kind words and support, brother.

Man Im telling you your talent is pure. The hook is cleverly worded and rapped/sung. Its not just your delivery and flow thats amazing your lyrics are deep as well. You need more exposure for real.

SJW!
Bro I mean Im speechless...
This is pure talent. Man. Wheres your other stuff I know you have more than just this and "walk" which is fire as well by the way.
You remind me of another Canadian rapper who goes by Emsee (Mathew Cathcart). He got a little big through Canadas Got Talent.

Except your rapping is faster but your flow is more rhythmetic and the whole truth is that I think your better. Your flow reminds me of Eminem. Its clear smooth and delivers emotion. Man I need to listen to more of your stuff.

Im a fan. Keep bringing the fire!

Hey this is really uplifting I really like it. It feels relaxing for me. There are lots of variations to keep interest and the climax helps to build that inspiring feel. I cant really comment on the mix as I have much to learn there.

Considering your background in music and your tenacity (3 tracks in a few days), I think once you get the hang of your DAW (music program) and the mixing elements your going to become elite.

Great Work

On your profile you say your an amateur producer but bro your a couple steps above that for real. Your stuff is mindblowing man.
I like the switch ups they worked with the flow change. Piano set the feel and the track flowed smoothly. Just one question for you though. Are the melodies original or do you use samples? Just wondering.

Keep dropping these "smash" hits. Im gonna keep an eye out for your stuff Its worth listening to.

on I WALK feat SJW and Fracas Grimm by facasgrimm
Man this is one helluva track. I mean aside from the mixing issues mentioned by other users, its really powerful. The guitar is great but those spacey waterdrop Bells really add to the emotion of this track. Lyrics were great, flow for the first two verses were fire, the third and fourth felt a bit off but they were cool as well. You guys really should clean up the mix a bit and this track will be up there commercial ready.

Hey cool new logo.

Your music especially your guitar skills is amazing. But your stuff goes beyond your skill with the guitar piano and whatever you play, you also have a very creative mind and your music is always very inspiring and a pleasure to listen to.

And damn your mixes are clean man. Among the best of them.

Simply.. Amazing
BradoSanz
BradoSanz replied 28th Sep 2015 - 10 years ago
Thanks for the kind words, Omar :)

I've been playing guitar since I was in the 8th grade - just kinda picked it up, my brother showed me the G, C and D chords. I didn't like standard tuning so I changed it to open D; this song was recorded in open-D :P I learned standard tuning later. Music runs on the boys' side of the family so it came a little bit easier for me than for some.

The clean mixes are just the accumulation of 3 years of trial and error, nothing fancy :P

Haha Yes I am loving this track in its entirety. Really fun track to listen to, vocals and music. Really creative with the vocals and lyrics and the music is very cool. Really different in the feel and I love that about it. Love the melody and the different instruments used for it and really like when the vocals drop and the track switches to like a trap-dub like feel. Also you have a real nice flow going really like it.
Awesome work on this!

on Music On - Feat Hilomowo-Tanaka-Samukange-KASSPROD by 8Kass8
Ok wow this is really good. The two pellas worked together well and you used them together perfectly. The musical production is done really well with nice beat drops and other switchups that kept this track really interesting throughout. Especially the vocal delay effect and drum drop. Also nice catchy bells and I like that heart beat part.
Listened to this several times cuz this is one of the better overall hip-hop productions involving vocals.

Excellent production and creativity man keep em coming.

Phatkatz said it best here.
You are a scientist of sound lol really awesome guitar-synth for the main riff/melody. Your classic synth sound that comes in at the 40 sec mark is like your trademark sound. You really brought not only energy but intensity to the track. The first 35 sec sounded like it needed to be part of an action trailer of some sort.

11 months in the making?! So Im not the only one that has unfinished music that Ive started on ages ago and still tweaking with haha?

Anyways Spiv gotta hand it to you again. Really excellent production and of course you bring that classic uniqueness and style
Spivkurl
Spivkurl replied 4th Aug 2015 - 10 years ago
Hey Omar, thank you for this comment and for being patient in my replies both here and away. That keytar (or guitboard if you are flight of the conchords inclined) thing is pretty fun for sure. You mention the trademark sound, and while I can pick it out, I think you are probably right. For me intensity is one of the most important qualities music can have, so I take that as a compliment! I rarely watch action movies any more, unless they are crossover from things like horror or comedy, but I can hear what you mean. 11 months is quite a while to keep something on my plate, but it seems to be more and more common for me. Just like when I'm designing and building electronics, I feel comfortable when I have a huge back log of things to work on. For example, on my last album, I started about 120 songs to settle on the 19 or whatever ended up on the album. Thanks for your positive support here, I appreciate it! I'll try to reply to you in email soon as well.

Cool track. Really loving the fading vox. The switchup around 1:38 is pretty neat as well. Cool little pan sweep with the percussion. You really pay attention to all the little details in the mix. Speaking of which, all the instruments fit well with each other. Nothing is really drowning anything else out too much.
Great work on this one

on Snake In The Past by Spivkurl
I like listening to your stuff spiv cuz its very different and unique. Like some of the previous comments said it sounds retro but I say more modernish retro. Really unique.

The synths and sounds you got going are well played out and catchy but the glitchy synth that comes and goes at around the 1:09, 2:34, etc sounds out of place. But other than that you did an awesome job making all the synths work with each other in all ranges. It definitely sounds complete and the synth play/solo at the 3:01 mixes things up and keeps things interesting which is necessary for long tracks. You also got some cool transition synths going on but I didnt catch it until the 3rd or 4rth time of listening because it gets caught up behind the other synths (Yes this track has an usual addiction).

The vocals are not that unusual. It really fits the lyrics which are quite interesting and uncertain yet somehow hopeful if that makes any sense haha Its what I got out of it. The "we are the future" vocals at 1:46 feels like it comes too soon. Maybe having it come in a sec or so later can solve that but then again that may be just me since no one said anything about it.

Anyway Spiv I gotta hand it to you cuz overall this track is really really good, honestly listened to this countless times. Excuse my extra long review and critque but I just feel like if some areas in the track are improved it will be one of the most exceptional tracks on here because of your very unique style.

Props

Spivkurl replied 17th Jul 2015 - 10 years ago
Thank you for stopping by to leave a useful comment! The glitchy synth you speak of that "comes and goes" was not really intended to be rhythmic in orientation, and is meant to sound like another place/time, only as an atmosphere which pushes it's way through at times. So from your comment, I feel it does what was intended. The transitions were difficult in this, as the key changes back and forth a bit... but it seemed to work for the vibe the vocals were meant for. I actually gave the "we are the future" part a chance at different timings and different performances, but this way it accented on the beats which I intended. It's a bit of my style to vocalize a bit ahead of the beat lately. Not sure if I will be going back to change anything, as it took many months to achieve what I wanted with the track as is. It was hard enough keeping the emotion which led to the original composition/lyrics after so many months. I really appreciate the detailed review and your addicted listening! Thank you!

Really cool effects. Awesome transitions. Synth melodies are nice and catchy. I felt the beginning claps were a little flat but the main drum loop was well-done.
All in all great job.

on Half Human - No Eyes To My Future by HalfHuman
Whoaahh. Damn this is good. There seems to be more and more ambient tracks around the loop these days but this is up there. Seriously you created an awesome atmosphere. At around the one minute mark when there was a brief pause I thought the climax was gonna hit (wasnt looking at the waveform) but it was just a little teaser with that kick. That kick though packs such a punch I really like it.
Entire track is well-composed like trailer music for a movie or a documentary.

I enjoyed the whole thing.

The drums in this track is awesome. It cuts clearly in the track. At around the 1:30 mark, I couldnt help but smile. The bass is killing. The previous comments stated how overpowered the bass is or was. I like it though (even though it does take some from the other frequencies) I dont know I found it addicting.
Nice use of the vocals for real. Its a really interesting tune.

Hey OmarMuk, very nice to hear from you on this piece. You're too kind with your praise! I remember playing Mario Kart a bit back a while, though I was more fond of earlier consoles. SNES did have some sweet music though. Thank you for the compliments on the sounds used. Really liking this track. Awesome transition into the beat but I just wish the kick came in stronger. It feels a little weak (possible use of compression or parallel compression to help) but thats just my take. This is still a really good track. Enough drops, effects, and mixups to keep it interesting. Really needs someone to drop some vocals.
Overall great work.

on Progress The Lethal Weapon diss track by hanginghighguy
Your absolutely correct and I apologize for that.

My instant reaction was, flow was better than most rapping here but the best thing was that there was emotion in the voice, it wasnt bland. The lyrics seem to be run through some type of high pass filter. Dont know if it was intentional or not but it still works real well.

That was my thoughts about it before I got caught up with the beat and seeing that everybody was also commenting about the beat kinda of pissed me off cuz I dont like when people take credit for whats not theirs.

But like u said I guess it doesnt make a difference to the rapper cuz how were u supposed to even recognize it. Btw the beat isnt free cuz it was sold long ago. It was pointless for me to write the previous comment here (Jsnell removed the beat from his page among others after I told him) so its my bad I overreacted.

Anyways I give u props for the rap as it had a nice flow and energy in it.
