I like the dissonance created by the vocals. You could almost take this one in other directions.....maybe break into a rock or metal approach in the middle of the song.....something that really kicks you know what.
And then bring it back from the brink.
Keep doing what you are doing. This is good work and has the potential to be great.
Thanks Bear, I think you are right, I always thought something was missing in the middle, hence the mad sound effects part, a good old rock bit would be great, a work in progress...:) smiles thanks for the encouragement...
So, I've got a list of "honey do's" about a mile long today, and the coffee just isn't getting the old motor running.......problem solved, haha.
Another amazing effort and I have to agree with John, I'm not so sure this isn't in the top 2 of your productions. Stellar work my friend. Off to favorites with this bad boy :)
Man, outstanding work here. Great guitar chops. Not enough metal on this site, so you are definitely a welcome addition. This is really stellar work from start to finish, and this track goes straight to favorites.
Tone, tone, and tone :)
By the way, if you are looking for a pretty good shredder, check out Spd2...
First off, welcome to Looperman. You will fit in nicely.
Second, I really like this track. It has tremendous potential. At some point you could really make this one special by adding a full orchestration (strings/brass) if you wanted and turn it into a full blown cinematic piece. It is still a really nice listen, and almost has a western feel to it (think Clint Eastwood).
thanks Bear, not only for the listen but, for the good advice, I didnt think of it as a western type sound but, its a great idea, and one worth trying...thanks :) smiles
Bro, it isn't easy to take a pella and build a song around it. It is even more difficult to make it sound like you were in the studio together at the same time!!!!
Wow, this is stellar work my friend. The vox are just so good. And your treatment of them is just world class good.
Thanks Bear, I really appreciate the flattering review :) i've been wanting to use that acapella since i first heard it a couple months ago, I'm glad you enjoyed the way it turned out!

There is not enough punk on the Loop. I actually remember this one from my time here prior to my one year vacation, haha. It was great then, and it's great now. Stellar mix, outstanding lyrics, and a real fun listen. Adding this to the favorites. Thanks for keeping it in the rotation.
Thanks Bear, I didn't think you were still here when I posted it but obviously you were. This one seems to be my most popular song despite being so simple in it's construction. It's a fun one imo. Appreciate you checking it out and leaving a comment!
Man, this is what comes to mind when I think of the pure definition of fusion. Great mix of a lot of different elements and styles. Love the modal tones....probably one of the best musical discoveries ever.
I'm glad you agree on the choice of genre for this track! Fusion is so fun for experimenting! I love playing in modes, I just wish I was better at it! Thanks so much for your comments and the fave!
I figured it was time for the neighbors to get up this morning, so what better way than a great funk track from one of the best bass men in the business. Everything in this one is flawless.
Damn, I love that bass line...
You sure you didn't play with Earth, Wind and Fire???
Hahaha, what a great auditory journey. Outstanding effort and straight to favorites. Hope all is well down under...ooooooohhh!
Hey Bear..I used to play with Earth,Wind and Beer....I get asked that question all the time!lol..thanks buddy hope the neighbours aren't cursing my name!..cheers Dave :)
I like your reference to Bob Ross. You are the Bob Ross of music. Except I'm not convinced that anything you do is accidental. Maybe a tiny accident every now and then for inspiration, but your end result is always spot on.
This is another example of your extreme skills at composition and production. It also shows how all of your brain cells are firing at once :)
Oh, you'd be surprised mate. Best example I got now is how I broke away from my current pyramid style build-up/down w/fades style on my older track *Rip It. I had copied everything from the first 5 or 6 channels & had positioned them slightly down the timeline (so I wouldn't have to worry about it later). When I finally built the song up to where I had put 'em everything just seemed to fit together perfectly (and it was a pretty sweet fade-to-a-boom-backatcha way of building the song back up).
The Ross ref is something I've grown fond of due to my experience with 'Art-snobbery' in school. Everyone acting so overly serious with it sometimes (ie, never use this color with this other color). In a way, that kind of thinking leads to very stylized, even cold/mechanical works of art. And to me, that betrays the very essence of "Art" or should I say, creativity, ya know? IMO, making art should be relaxing & pleasing, a fun experience (kinda hard to do when we're being all rigid about it). In a way, 'Happy Accidents' has become my sort of mission statement (go forth and do, eventually it'll seem right). I just used it below to point out the same thing that Flynn did to Tron in 82- "There is no grand plan..." Its how I normally fly, ya know? Mmmkay, thanks for stopping by & later on!
Great rock voice....you are almost a throwback :) That's not a bad thing, believe me. A lot of the guys singing metal today wouldn't have been able to be roadies for the bands that blazed the metal trail.
You should have no trouble finding people on here who would love to work with you. Your range and control are impressive.
Outstanding effort Jamie. Your guitar work is simply fantastic, bass guitar exceptional, but your keyboard work is pretty damned awesome as well. You, sir, are one of the best musicians on this site and you never disappoint.
Now, there is chilled and then there is CHILLED.....this one is so chill it frosted the outside of my iced tea glass :) This is "Quincy Jones" good my friend. Seriously, one of those grooves that could make you famous.
As I was listening to this, I kept thinking a great female vocalist singing on it would put it over the top. But then I thought, why mess with perfection?
Wonderful work. And a huge thanks for cooling things off around here (it was over 100 yesterday, only in the 90's today).
I'm blushing....thanks Barry!hahaha....I had fun doing this one and you were bang on about a female vocal.....I have been thinking about that....would love to find someone on here that can supply the right backing to this....thanx bear...humbled by the review
Outstanding job my friend. Great rock with outstanding guitar work and there is nothing better than Wayne on vocals :) A little bit like an upbeat Dylan tune.
Well done!!!
Bear
EDIT:
My bad PMK. You did an amazing job on the vocals....Wayne sucks, hahahahaha, just kidding. Seriously though, great job on the vox as well. Bear
Thank you, I'm glad you like it and I appreciate the nice words. The voice is mine though. I tried to delete the old track and reviews but that wasn't possible, oddly enough, and I couldn't delete the old reviews either. So this is actually a solo work, but I thank you for the kind words.

Hey DV, I think I reviewed this one the last time I lived at the Loop. I still get the same emotions today as I listen to it. With all of the stuff we have to work with - virtual instruments, fx, automation, loops, etc. it is nice to hear a piece that was played on the instrument in front of you.
There is something about the intimacy one can achieve using one single instrument to make a track. This piece shows that. Thanks for sharing a special moment in time.
I can't recall Bar, it was so long ago. This was done in my relative infancy with music. Didn't know much about programing & looping. I also didn't know any musicians that were into the same styles as me. All I had was they keyboard & the one soundfont (it was also recored at around 5am too). In that moment I was out on my front porch sitting on an in-table using the arms of an Adirondack chair as my stand with old clunky Koss headphones to drown out the sound). Took me about maybe 2 hours of tinkering and around 3 takes to get it the way it sounds now. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Now this is what I call fusion....a wonderful melding of jazz and rock, with a Spanish flair. Outstanding vocal work as usual. At some point you are going to force me to learn Spanish :)
Very nice vocals. You have a unique quality to your voice. Really nice control and I love the fact that your pitch is spot on. You also have the ability to express emotion when you sing, probably the most important thing a singer can learn.
This is really nice.
Malu gives great advice. It would be nice to have your vocals a bit more forward in the mix. It almost feels like your vocals were added after the song was mixed....
But I'm nit picking here, instead of enjoying the experience.
Extremely well done and I look forward to many more songs from you. And please thank your brother for his service to all of us. It is greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much. I have to agree with you on the mix, I do think there needs to be more especially with the vocals... I would like to take this song back to the studio and put some vocals behind the "talking part", and hold it out until the chorus comes in again! I think that would give the song more soul. :)

I love your voice. You have such a soothing quality. I wish you did books on tape or CD. You have the perfect voice for that.
Anyway, I digress. This track is wonderful, and your vocal work takes it to a whole new level. Keep producing and please keep recording vocals.
Had to add this one to favorites.
Beautiful.
