I think you are headed the right direction. The vocals need to be mixed better...too far back in the mix (especially the section around the :45 mark.....they almost seemed muffled). I'm sure your label will get this sorted before you release it. Other than the mix issues, I think it's a great start. Hope all is well.

yh cheers for the advice man!

yeah i was thinking the exact same. the label has had alot to do so we havent had time to properly sit in a studio, so far all my tracks have been recorded on a £5 microphone with expired software.

eventually it'll sound crisp. but that alot for that man!

Bro, I saw your posts in the forum. It can be a rough place to make a point. That's why I make it a point to rarely go there. Anyway, you have some skills. Keep making music, let the BS roll off your back....like the rain, it all ends up in the gutter anyway.

Really nice work here.

Thanks Bear.

Much appreciated mate. No worries. I don't take what they say seriously. You're right. The BS always ends up in the gutter.

Good flow on this one, nice job on the lyrics as well. I am no expert on hip hop, but I do know you have skills. Just keep at it. There are a lot of rappers out there with a lot less ability than you who are making a pretty good living at this. Keep the dream alive. Hope all is well.

Not too bad. The singing is actually pretty good. I would like to hear this one fleshed out a bit more to see where you go with it. I definitely would keep working on it.

Great driving bass line, and I absolutely love the piano work on this one...that haunting pad.....exceptional work. Stylistically a bit like listening to Marcus Koch. Well done!!

Thanks Bear, appreciate the great feedback. I was happy with the piano sound on this one. I assume on your tracks you are using a miked acoustic piano as your piano sounds are so much richer.

Thanks again

on Whos To Blame by FullCapicityMuzic
Patricia, I'm such an idiot (must be old age). I didn't know you had posted this as well (I'm glad you did). So, my apologies for not coming by sooner and thanking you again for such a wonderful job you did on the vocals for this. You are a rare talent, and I'm so glad you so generously share that talent on my projects. You really are the best.

I was humbled by this when I first heard it, and feel the same way now as I listen to it for the several hundredth time. Thanks again for gracing this one with your gifts. I hope all is well.

Uhhhh, you're not an idiot Mr. Bear!

I posted it on Soundcloud as well http://soundcloud.com/patriciaedwards/whos-to-blame, and share the link occasionally on Facebook, it's up to 1169 plays, probably someone who has it on repeat...but at least it's being listened to I gueess :-)

One song at a time, we can all make a difference! Thanks Mr. Bear :-)

I love spaghetti, especially the western kind. It's always fun to go back a few years and listen to your work. This piece is timeless, and really does belong in a movie. I watched Cowboys and Aliens last night and this would have worked in several scenes.

Awesome Wayne. Love your guitar work. I now await a spring break song from you, haha.

Thanks man! I recorded all the tracks through the mic input before I owned a digital interface. For an older track it still sounds pretty good. I'm trying to do some recording and learning on Ableton and trying to recapture this type of sound again but with more quality to the recording.

Thanks for stopping by. New songs soon!

Vis, I love reggae, and I really love this one. I hit the download button so fast I almost broke my finger, hahaha (thanks for the generosity). I listened to that vinyl in the 70's and you nailed the vibe.

The mix on this one is flawless.......

studio quality is what it is.

I just wish I could sing, haha. It stands on its own as an instrumental. Freaking awesome Vis. One for the favorites playlist.

Hey Bear, hope you are well my friend? Thanx for such a positive & kind review. I really appreciate it. The dub B.Sides of 45's were faves of mine as a young lad and I hope I have captured some of that in this track.

I know absolutely nothing about DnB. But I do know great music when I hear it, and this is great music. It's difficult for me to offer any kind of constructive criticism, especially when I enjoyed it so much, so I'll just sit back and sip my coffee and enjoy the song.

Sometimes a smile is the best review one can receive. I'm grinning from ear to ear :)

Hello Mr Bear. Thanx so much for taking time to stop by, listen and review. I really do appreciate and thanx for such a positive review. DnB is a bit of a secret vice of mine and I hope I have managed to pull something passable off in the genre.

on Karma by BunnieRabbit
Wow Bonnie, like Ed, I can definitely hear an Adele-esq quality to your voice. I love minor chords, and piano, and things that are stripped down and "unplugged." There is room for strings, drums, etc. but this also stands well on its own.

I am a huge fan of your vocals though. You are a wonderful addition to the Loop. I love the fact that you aren't satisfied with this one. That type of attitude will take you a long way in this business. Keep posting the hits. I hope all is well.

I listened to this twice, once on monitors and once on headphones, and both times were an absolute joy!!! There is not enough cinematic music on Looperman, especially not as good as this.

Absolutely fantastic voyage, great transitions, terrific dynamics.....everything a great cinematic piece has to have. I won't comment on the ending either ;)

Bravo.

Crucethus, this is so good on so many different levels. My theory professor actually told me I should quit music and take up another hobby, hahaha. God I hated that SOB....

Back to this track, this is outstanding work. The composition is outstanding, well thought out, and well delivered. You have mad skills as a musician as well.

This one is definitely one for my favorites list. I had to grab a download (thanks for that).

A beautiful listen and a great way to start out my Wednesday. I hope all is well.

Coming from a talented musician like yourself Bear, that is a big compliment and much appreciation and thanks for listening and commenting. I had a Music teacher in 9th grade asked me to do a scale on the clarinet and I made an error. He told me in front of the band That I would never be as good as my sister (older). I got up and walked out and never went back. Taught myself keyboards and took theory in college. Never Listen to negative comments, Only positive corrective comments. You never know what might happen.

Hey Eato, I have to agree with Pat. I wouldn't believe that it would be possible to have a track this laid back with a tempo of 170bpm (especially drum and bass), but you really pulled it off. Nice production, with a nice clear mix.

I appreciate the shout out. Keep at it.

on Purple Rain-cover by janis71
There are covers, and then there are covers that actually are as good as, or even better than the original. This one borders on the latter. This is one of my wife's favorite Prince songs of all time. She's heard many covers of it, and was never really impressed. HOWEVER, your cover had her standing and applauding. She said she would PAY for your version!!! That means she was hugely impressed.

But since you put it up for download, I grabbed a copy and she will have it at the top of her favorite song playlist on her IPod. She thanks you for that :)

Absolutely one of the best renditions I have ever heard of this song (the backing track is awesome). You are one hugely talented young lady. Prince would be proud of this version, that's how good it is.

Oh la la .. don't speak such undeserved compliments ... ! I've just been in love with that piece for a long time and wanted to put a little of my heart in it, with vocal weaknesses in terms of "legato" and many other defects .. but it finally sounded like I wished, as best as I could .
My warmest thank you for your so gentle comment, dear Bear ... !

on Daydreaming by BunnieRabbit
My friend Malu has exceptional taste. I always love it when he points out these little "gems" he finds perusing the Loop. I liked the first song you posted.

I absolutely LOVE THIS ONE!!!!

As others have stated, the intimacy of an acoustic and a vocalist is probably one of the most beautiful of all musical interactions......especially when the guitar and vocals are this good.

You are a rare talent. I would love to hear this one after Malu gets a professional mix and master on it.

Did I say I am a sucker for strings?

Beautiful work. Thanks for sharing.

on ONE NIGHT by Timmons2
First, major props my friend on a song that is current, and could be playing on the radio anywhere across this country. Matthew's voice has a nice timbre to it, but the secret to this one's success is the music wrapped around the vocals.

There is nothing to critique here - simply my admiration for writing, arranging, and producing a song that could easily be a hit record.

Top shelf material. Now I'm standing and applauding!!! Well done to both of you.

OUTSTANDING!!!!

Hey Twanna, sorry it took me so long to drop by.....but like fine wine, this one is well worth the wait. I absolutely love your voice. As Dave so eloquently stated, you are a special talent and it is a shame the world hasn't had the opportunity to hear your work.

God bless you, my friend and have a wonderful week.
