I listened to this twice, once on monitors and once on headphones, and both times were an absolute joy!!! There is not enough cinematic music on Looperman, especially not as good as this.

Absolutely fantastic voyage, great transitions, terrific dynamics.....everything a great cinematic piece has to have. I won't comment on the ending either ;)

Bravo.

on Sensuality by crucethus
Crucethus, this is so good on so many different levels. My theory professor actually told me I should quit music and take up another hobby, hahaha. God I hated that SOB....

Back to this track, this is outstanding work. The composition is outstanding, well thought out, and well delivered. You have mad skills as a musician as well.

This one is definitely one for my favorites list. I had to grab a download (thanks for that).

A beautiful listen and a great way to start out my Wednesday. I hope all is well.

Coming from a talented musician like yourself Bear, that is a big compliment and much appreciation and thanks for listening and commenting. I had a Music teacher in 9th grade asked me to do a scale on the clarinet and I made an error. He told me in front of the band That I would never be as good as my sister (older). I got up and walked out and never went back. Taught myself keyboards and took theory in college. Never Listen to negative comments, Only positive corrective comments. You never know what might happen.

You know, if this was a baseball game, you would be batting 1000!

Another great song, one that is radio ready and current enough to be heard on radio stations all over this land. You seriously have some remarkable vocal chops.

Like Malu I am a huge fan of your work, and I look forward to your next posting.

Until then, oh oh oh oh oh, you are so so so so good. Hope all is well.

Haha thank you-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh! I've got a variety I could post, but I feel from here on out I should utilize this site for creating with members. I posted these few to show versatility, but I have so many ideas that I'm just sitting on because I'm not 100% with my production... mainly percussion.

I'm humbled by the wonderful comments received thus far and it's truly helping my confidence to stick to the grind! Thank you for taking an interest in my creations :)

Cheers!

on Rainy Night in Staly - Quant1ze by Eato
Hey Eato, I have to agree with Pat. I wouldn't believe that it would be possible to have a track this laid back with a tempo of 170bpm (especially drum and bass), but you really pulled it off. Nice production, with a nice clear mix.

I appreciate the shout out. Keep at it.

on Purple Rain-cover by janis71
There are covers, and then there are covers that actually are as good as, or even better than the original. This one borders on the latter. This is one of my wife's favorite Prince songs of all time. She's heard many covers of it, and was never really impressed. HOWEVER, your cover had her standing and applauding. She said she would PAY for your version!!! That means she was hugely impressed.

But since you put it up for download, I grabbed a copy and she will have it at the top of her favorite song playlist on her IPod. She thanks you for that :)

Absolutely one of the best renditions I have ever heard of this song (the backing track is awesome). You are one hugely talented young lady. Prince would be proud of this version, that's how good it is.

So, in a way, I'll be there when you'll have a nice coffee listening to that, Bear ;)
Oh la la .. don't speak such undeserved compliments ... ! I've just been in love with that piece for a long time and wanted to put a little of my heart in it, with vocal weaknesses in terms of "legato" and many other defects .. but it finally sounded like I wished, as best as I could .
My warmest thank you for your so gentle comment, dear Bear ... !
Yeah, how can't all be well with such nice people as you paying me a visit here ? ;)

on Daydreaming by BunnieRabbit
My friend Malu has exceptional taste. I always love it when he points out these little "gems" he finds perusing the Loop. I liked the first song you posted.

I absolutely LOVE THIS ONE!!!!

As others have stated, the intimacy of an acoustic and a vocalist is probably one of the most beautiful of all musical interactions......especially when the guitar and vocals are this good.

You are a rare talent. I would love to hear this one after Malu gets a professional mix and master on it.

Did I say I am a sucker for strings?

Beautiful work. Thanks for sharing.

on ONE NIGHT by Timmons2
First, major props my friend on a song that is current, and could be playing on the radio anywhere across this country. Matthew's voice has a nice timbre to it, but the secret to this one's success is the music wrapped around the vocals.

There is nothing to critique here - simply my admiration for writing, arranging, and producing a song that could easily be a hit record.

Top shelf material. Now I'm standing and applauding!!! Well done to both of you.

OUTSTANDING!!!!

Outstanding vocal effort on this one.....the mix is pretty good as well. I, like Malu, would love to hear you in other genres. It's not that I dislike DnB, but I think you have the chops to excel in just about any genre.

Anyway, I digress. Welcome to Looperman and I look forward to many more songs from you.

Well done!!!

Rachel, this is absolutely beautiful. It sounds like it was recorded in an empty auditorium (which is one of the greatest recording methods ever). This is so intimate, and clear and really amazing work.

Hey Twanna, sorry it took me so long to drop by.....but like fine wine, this one is well worth the wait. I absolutely love your voice. As Dave so eloquently stated, you are a special talent and it is a shame the world hasn't had the opportunity to hear your work.

Who knows, perhaps in the near future some really smart and alert A/R rep will pay your profile a visit. Until then, just know you have fans out here who think you are amazing.

I hope all is well with you. All my best.

God bless you, my friend and have a wonderful week.

Soren, you and Patricia have me standing and applauding!!!!!!

Absolutely one of the best tracks I have ever heard on Looperman. My oh my, this is so good I can't even describe it. Downloaded to enjoy again and again.

Welcome back mr. Bear :-) SRV and Billie! That is just about the biggest pat on the back that have ever recieved. He started it all for me, so I'm glad if people can hear that, but there will always just be one Stevie, as there should be. Even though no one could ever be another Stevie, it means the world to me, that you chose to compare me to him.

Patricia did everything for this one. I just followed her lead, so it was a (pride and) joy to work with someone that talented. A thing I havn't tried before, so I really had to give it my best :-)

I too hope, that there will be an encore someday.

Speaking of Stevie - I made a little tribute to him, and would love for you to contribute along with, Ed, Marty myself and Jamie. In your own time of course. I know you're a busy man :-)

I cant read music either, but i do play guitar n keyboards but im self taught.!

I have to feel my way through what i produce, and hit n hope really,as i just put sounds on lines and tweek to my own vib,so if i like i can try any genre, but i have to be in the right frame of mind!.

Doing this as a way of encapsulation my feelings gives me a buzz, because the next day when i play back, even i dont know how i managed to make it sound ok...lol

Not sure how I missed this one gents, but I'm glad I found it. I actually think you two were twins, separated at birth, and then luckily for all of us, found each other here on Looperman.

Freaking genius at every last level. There is never a dull moment when you guys put on your creative hats. Those guitar riffs are just sick....sweep picking and shreddage as it should be!!!

Behnam my friend, this is absolutely beautiful work.

You have carefully wrapped the vocals in this amazing arrangement, using pads and textured synths as the cloth, and the piano as the stitching.....the sounds of nature for accents.

Simply beautiful from start to finish. You are one talented guy. Thanks for sharing this one with us. I hope all is well.

on My first Ableton Track by ElectronBlue
I'm impressed 12string, I couldn't even get any sound out of Ableton, and now use the CD to scare off the birds in my garden, hahaha.

Seriously though, it is impressive that you were able to record this after only 4 weeks. Like Ed, I like something a bit simpler for my tunes, more plug and play. I'm no good with a computer, so the less I have to do, the better off I am.

Anyway, really smooth track that I would put in the chill genre. A great way for me to wind down at the end of the day. I liked your guitar and synth work on this one. Well done.

Thanks "shortbusmusic" for your kind comment. lol @ the birds comment I am sure it wasn't that bad but at least the birds get to enjoy it. I know what you mean as I had a few disasters before I posted my first bit of a try with ableton. Ableton is not like Sonar or Cubase that's all linear and you just arrange it as you go. Once I can figure out how to arrange things better I will re post it. Also the track has an annoying blip sound and I can't figure out where it came from. I don't think I could ever reproduce the flute track as I was just jamming along with the flute sound on my synth to the rest of the track. You know how it is so I hope I don't mess thing up. The guitar part is boring so I am going to work on that and try to make it a little more interesting, mabe a little acoustic fingerpicking.

Gator I have to agree with Ed on this one. Seldom is the blues played any finer than this. Love the tone...sounds a bit like Jonny Lang, and that's a good thing.
