on hardcore nightmare by sn76
I know what you mean with nightmares with computers. That's why i no longer make alot of music on my PC, as i now have a macbook!! Seriously, i had so many times where projects would fucking crash on me. It was ridiculous, so in turn i couldn't pump all the effects and edits i wanted to do with my tracks back then. But nice track man, fast paced and DnB goodness. sick. peace out

Weirdness! But i dig that in production, it shows your experimental and willing to try anything. Such as i am pretty much. Mix isn't too bad either. It's clear and audible, so i'd say your solid brudda. good work. peace out

on Ruthless Ft Shifty Fellow by Dreagoen
Dig the intro in this. The vocals are a little off, you might have wanted to cut some of the low end out of the Acapella too as it's conflicting with the wobble bass a little. Cutting out frequencies between i would say about 35hz to 70hz a couple of decibels would probably help. But it depends on where his voice is getting the most response from on the low end. A good frequency analyzer will help with that easily. And a nice place to "boost" alot of vocals, at least for me is around 8khz to 10khz. Adds a more edge to most vocals and good sibilance. But it's whatever floats your boat. keep it up! peace out

I've just cut out 20Hz-70Hz and boosted at 2kHz-3kHz. Sounds a lot better. Thanks!

Smoooooth one man. Would like a bit louder but i think it's pleasant to listen to as is. Chill out is supposed to be like that, kind of similar to how some jazz tracks are mastered. Some genres should be more quiet and peaceful. Digs it man. peace out

on Take it back - Dec by Decnet
Real chill, like the vibes. the eerie glockenspiel type of sound gets a little repetitive for me. The drums almost makes this a slow liquid drum and bass type of song, but i'm not the type to be a genre nazi. Alot of the sounds fit quite nicely together too. I would of like some of the high end to come up a bit more, but i'm guessing that's due to the length and the quality had to be squashed in the long run. I would of also liked to hear more variation, it's just a tad too forward for me. Although that's how i usually like a song to be structured. The kick could also come up a little more for me, but the snare is at the right level. Overall, a pretty solid track. like it. keep it up. Peace out.

Thanks mate for the analysis.. When i did this tune a lot of things didnt really go as planned, and the only thing that whent with it was the liveplay of the piano. I always record the piano at the side together with the tune itself to make it project emotions, well, my emotions to be exact.. The quality of some of the specific sounds got ruffed up when going from 48k to 22500 and theres a audiable difference when listening to the original on my puter at the correct hertz.. But i hear you, and if i ever bring this tune to life again ill might consider what you said, but for now, this tune is at rest.. so 2 speak..

haha good ol acid loops. I hear alot people using those, as i have plenty of times in the past. They have some quality stuff. Great use with them though, you really chopped em up! Thought the track could of had a more a forward playback to it though, changes up a little too much for me. Couldn't stop and vibe with it more. But interesting sounds used! and of course the good ol acid loops! peace out!

Thanx for the review my friend. I got the loops from Music Radar and just kinda patched 'em together. I wanted to make something stop/start almost breakbeat, something that didn't quite gel and that had that ole skool freeze feel to it. I really appreciate your comments. Peace, Love & Justice.

Yo! Heard some of your other beats on soundclick and the other links. Some of them are pretty dope, i think this was one of them. Can't remember, but shit i didn't know people still used soundclick! haha and i like that vocoder like lead, pretty ill. Digging this alot more than your other beat. Snares and claps could come up just a lil more, but again that's just my preference. keep up the production bro! peace

on Oceans Of Infinity - Original Mix by GilbertCarrizales
I seriously need to get into making some trance, that synth drives the track forward just perfectly! Every time i hear some trance, i just think about futuristic racing games like wipeout pure or kinetica. Even ol school games from square enix back in it's square soft days when they made alot of experimental games with great soundtracks like einhander or Ehrgeiz. But this is gold man, keep doing you! trances me out! peace!

Not exactly the same nor is this the same genre but that just caught my eye. This one is pretty solid. Seems that bassline was skipping however, that or the drums when it plays back. Look into that brudda, gets a little noticeable later on. keep working! peace out!

woah you move fast, i was just about to check out your track before you posted a thread for it! haha see you just joined the site too, welcome man.

Alright to the track, digging the bass drum. knocks! Snare doesn't hit hard enough for me, i think the clap is a just the right level. The snare roll is a little weak, at least through headphones. The synths are solid, would of like the main beeping synth to go through some sort of effect however. Change the sound up a little. The other pad like synth is bomb though! nice. I also thought for some reason the bpm could of been maybe 2 or 3 bpms faster. Just a tad. Overall everything's mixed together pretty well. keep it up bra! peace

Thanks for the welcome and the comments you posted.

I think that you are right on with the bpm. I thought the exact same thing and I know why. However when I tried it out it didn't have the same bounce so I ended up leaving it. It's an older beat but still a pretty good knock. Thanks for your feedback.

I did check out some of your tracks, I was impressed Chi-Town Native and that dubstep track were both pretty nasty. I see that Chicago is still cranking out the talent. Alot of versatility in your sound.

If you wanted to check out more of my stuff (since I can only download 1 track a day), I have newer beats here:

Let me know what you think bruh, and keep making that fire.

Funny, because i've actually been on here since 08 (my current profile isn't accurate) and i've never seen you around! Not on the forums or anything. thanking you so much for the review and listen..it is much appreciated. i suppose i should put ion the description that this is just a demo, like i do with all the other demos. i never master demos...because im lazy..and because i now work with engineers that are much better at mixing than i am right now.
it does seem surreal that i have been here for over 5 years. i was much more active on the site before i began writing and recording my album. now that it is finished and i have another one to write, ive come home to my looperFam for inspirado and critique.
thanks again for the review. i look forward to hearing your work.

cheers!

on Casanova no one can tell me BEAT by casanovaa
Agree with the others, the beat is dope. skills man. But the only problem i have with beats like these in hip hop is the over use of sampling. Particularly soul samples. Alot of producers almost abuse classics and just put a beat over it. I mean it's all ill(i sample myself, just not to the point where it MAKES my song) but i like what your doing and what's been done a 1000 times over before. I also thought the crash was a bit loud, but that's just my preference. Yea, hope i ain't knock your productivity just a bit of constructive criticism is all bro. keep it up. peace out

casanovaa replied 12th Nov 2012 - 12 years ago
Hi InPSYcle, thank you for the feedback, it's true that sample producers do use alot of sampling in their songs. I do try and keep vocals to a minimum when it comes to sampling, but seeing what producers can do with an old song, and then come out with something entirely different, it's just amazing what producers can do with songs and make it your own you know. Like 9TH wonder, check out( Tsutchie - Sincerely ) on youtube banging beat! you'll like it.
