Ha Kingdom hearts man? Sick for putting that in there, but the sample(sounds like a remix) is off. Doesn't make sense how you put it in there. Should of put more into it. Since now i see you use reason. (that makes both of us!) What i like to do usually with a sample, especially if i'm going to really chop it up, is open it in the nnxt and duplicate the zone a couple of times. Sometimes maybe several times, depending what i want to do.

Then you shift click (on a mac at least) and then right click and choose "automap all zones chromatically." Sets it up so it plays back on certain keys on your keyboard. Then for each "zone" you made you can make it start on a different part within the sample. (There's a knob for this) Works best with long samples though. But yea, dunno if i made any sense. lol be easier to show you. but yea, just some tips. chill track. peace!

Ahhh dude I know this thing is at hot mess with the sampling. Very old track this one. But I'm not sure I know what you mean about using the nnxt. What I do now, and what I've grown accustom to doing is just using Dr. octo rex, and using my controller as a MPC. Thanks for giving this old shit a listen tho. Peace man

Woah there now stereo! i dunno about "best car" in a racing game. Have you played any of the midnight clubs?? The saleen s7 in midnight club la is too beast! and the lambo's of course. Gran Turismo is solid, but i'm just a huge midnight club junkie! Just straight to the racing, no BS! but sweet track though bra. peace out!

lol, mc was good. i liked racing sims tho, gt2 taught me how to drive. still to this day, i always try to find the apex in a turn. and i actually drive an escudo, known in north america as the suzuki sidekick. its a terrible suv. would probably be better if it had a gigantic wing on the back of it. nah. thanks for the comments and the listen neo.

Nice to see your back man! been a longgggg time. I was on hiatus for a time on here as while. Just for a couple of months at the most. Hope your here to stay, at least for a little. It's nice to be back, but boy has the site changed. Miss some of the old features: like how many times the track is played, for example.

on A long time ago and still recovering by thyroid
I had a time where i was close to dying as well. a couple actually. Some times i was at a place where i contemplated about taking my own life. But that's in the past! And times have gotten better! But yea man digging the strings, definitely can feel the emotion in it and what you must have felt at the time. Whether it's in the past or still resonating with you in so fashion now. I can tell you put your heart into this. And this is truly a wondrous track. keep ya head up, and peace out!

Nice man, real nice. I'd agree with Rawhead, even thought that's not his username anymore! lol anyways, back to the music, ehem. Nice ambient touches here and there. Makes everything linger nicely and drifts you off to other worlds. Like chillout does fittingly. A smooth ear you have man. i can dig it. Just wish it was a tad louder though. And the bass could of been a little heavier in my opinion, to really "feel" it. but this is great man, keep it up! peace

Softsynths? no way. To be honest, many of your tracks sound like they've been processed thorough a SSL console board or maybe even something else! And the synths sound like actual SYNTHS. Although i can't give a valid comparison on that as i've yet to make my music with some top of the line gear.

I went to college for all this, and one thing i definitely got schooled on quick when i started was the TOP OF THE LINE PROFESSIONALISM. lol SSl here, Trident Board there, Soundproof room here, Live room there. More mics than the catalog and hardware, hardware, hardware. Specifically MANY effect process units. This literally is identical to any song on the radio in terms of quality. Do you not see the instant downloads your getting upon your initial upload dude? lol That "Her Eyes" track you "just" uploaded got like 30 something downloads already! And that's alot on this site! especially in a day!

So what is your secret???????????????!
Cufool
Cufool replied 6th Nov 2012 - 12 years ago
Thanks again!
Alot of my sounds come from nexus or kontakt, both are samplers and have outstanding quality. Ive always wanted to try an actual synth, its just impossible to replicate a hardware sound.

Ive been taking tours of some music colleges lately and its just insane how much equipment is there. Id love to be able to get my hands on the equipment since I dont have much experience with the hardware side of production.

I just write music for the love of it, but im also critical of my work. I try to make each track better and incorporate new ideas from other artists that have influenced me. If it doesnt make me get up and dance, then it usually ends up in the trash, haha.
And for promotion of the track, id recommend uploading a loop or two from the track with a link back to the track, you will easily get 500+ people that will listen to your loop and see the link.

Thanks for the kind words, it really means alot!
The time has come for me to choose a field of study and career path; its reviews like this that make me want to take a daring leap into the music industry :)

Hm, yea i don't know how anybody hasn't said anything. I'm almost getting no bass response from my speakers, and i'm sure that wobble bass hits hard. I don't get alot of thump from the kick either. But what you could try is to bring the track into a mastering suite of some sort. Maybe Tracks 3 or Izotope's Ozone. Specifically with Ozone 4, it has it's own "dynamics" section. You could start with turning up some of the lower frequencies adjusting whatever parameters you see fit.

And it has a frequency analyzer built in, so if you have the stems you can see what "frequency" the bass and all the other low end instruments are responding the most. From there, it's just alot of tweaking. But if that doesn't build it up dynamic wise, it could be a totally different problem. And that's always the tricky part with audio, the "unknown problems." Mainly because you do so much in a project sometimes, you forgot what steps you've taken to progress you through the process. Might of been a issue that happened when you bounced the track down, all sorts of tedious work. But yea try that man. I would definitely look into Izotope Ozone 4. It's beasty. So is Tracks though.

on Inlomeda - Unstable by LoopnFLlover
Hmm, seems the drums(roll) is skipping. You might want to look into that, throws the track off a bit. As this being a genre your not "typical" i would advise taking your time with it to truly get it down pact. needs a bit more flavor for DnB. A awesome sub bass is one, and of course the drums. check that skipping brudda! peace

Ha good ol acid loops. always does the trick. You'll grow out of em soon if you want to grow into more professional levels. but who am I to tell you your method of composition. Many hits were made from purely "loops." It's crazy. A nice mix of the loops however, hope the video went well. peace

Yo. fun track for sure. that's what it's all about anyways, as long as your having a good time creating and genuinely enjoy it, then it's all good. And regarding the forum thing, there's alot of things you have to learn on how people are on this site sometimes. And not as in the members participating with this whole review club thing.

I see it says you joined only a month ago so i wouldn't expect you to know anything about the huge filter this site sometimes has(actually alot to be dead honest) and there's alot of ol'heads of the site that have HUGE EGOS. The profile i currently have isn't accurate with when i joined, i actually joined back in 08 and man...was it a COMPLETELY different loop community. Sometimes it's like theres a cult following or something of the older members and mods. I genuinely just love the music on here though. Alot of true underground talent.

But yea peace homie, keep doing your thang. And take whatever i said how you want. Just letting you know some things! :)

DnB DnB ah yes, i need to get back into this genre. i will as soon as i can get my fricking hands on reason 6.5 though! lol congrats on getting on the housefly mix, if i had my track finished all the way (at least mastering wise) i would of made it. oh well, but yea i like this man, i think the wobble synth or whatever is a little dull though...kept it simple i see. The drumline gets a little repetitive after a while. Not your best i've heard from you sn76. but keep working! peace brudda!

on LET GO featuring NATE MONOXIDE by edzwood
I have to agree with the others, the vocals are off beat. The synth is really good in my opinion, at least the one in the intro. The other distorted one was off beat, look into that. Never forget to quantize! and if it helps to add more rhythm sometimes, add a main "groove" to your overall track. most daws incorporate this. a solid attempt though, just take your time with things man, everything else should come naturally. peace brudda

Thanks for the constructive crit. And for delivering it in a thoughtful supportive way. SORRY ABOUT THE PACKAGED RESPONSE but since all opinions are about the same I figured one response is in order. Here's the deal for me on this song. It's my first attempt at remixing from a very long acepella. i've put in HUDGE hrs and it's still obviously not right. I'm using ACID I beatmaped all tracks to 128 bpm. so can anybody explain to me how to get it right. I'm not musically trained so I'm obviously missing something. In short HELP!
