Dude, what is your secret? I've listened to a couple of your tracks and they sound very professional. and i see you use FL, but there's no way your getting sound like that outta fruity loops! Unless you have some high end hardware. do you send your tracks to a pro?
Thanks man!
No loops and mixing and mastering is done by me :)
FL studio tends to get underrated, however, it has been used to write several hits. I didnt use any hardware in this song, all soft-synths; when I do its usually just mic-ing a guitar or something.
I do gotta agree though that alot of the vsts and samples that come with FL studio arnt the best.
Man i remember you from quite the while back. before the loop shut down and (slightly) upgraded and what not. dunno if you remember me but yea anyways, this does have a tad bit of resident evil influence in it. Just played that "operation raccoon city" a little while ago. alot of people are NOT liking the new direction the resident evil series is taking. i personally like that game. haven't played 5 or 6 yet. Number 4 for the gamecube was definitely my fav one though. But yea solid track though brudda. keep it up the works! peace
Yeah, I was away from music for a while also while looper was down. I plan on getting back into it more. Nice to hear from ya. Guess I should stroll over and see what music you've been up to.
Well allow me to be the first to comment. i actually like a lot of rock too. but i'm so submerge in my own kraft, i don't have the time to listen to every single genre under the sun. but yea man definitely digs that intro guitar. Thought it was a little soft for rock though. Has more cinematic elements to it, and maybe even a touch of ambient. nice. peace
Whoa.. I just recently came back from a hectic holiday and WHAM.. shitload of reviews. Damn i love Edz initiative to start this.
OT: Yes.. When it comes to specific genre i suck at pinpointing it in the correct direction. I often create music out of thin air trying to embrace emotions of sorts. I completly agree to what you say that "trying to listen to everything" is nearly impossible, even tho one tries to do ones best so 2 speak. Im happy that you took the time "offgenre" and made a review..
Sick my man. There was definitely a reason why i chose you as the winner of my loop challenge. (unless you gotta boost of confidence from winning) digging this whole production. LOL with the vox though. Dirty whore. haha made me laugh. gotta make me some more DnB soon. Soon enough. keep it up. peace.
Sickkkkk man. love deep house. Give off real chill vibes. with just a up'd bpm. even though i can nvr really guess what the bpm for other people's are. lol i'm "guessing" this is 130. but i'm probably dead wrong so......yea. lol keep it up. peace
Hmm, the sounds don't fit well for me. and some do sound like there in the same key like Centrist said. This was like a mix of classical/techno/dance or something. Didn't really know where it was going. Since you tagged the track deep house, i was halfway expecting something like this!
maybe i should lower my expectations....on a plus though your avatar is funny, and looks unbeknownst to what's going on. lol but a solid attempt. just keep working. peace
but as I already wrote in my reply to centrist,
this is a first try-out
and I am still working on it
and what is also important,
I try to make music for half a year now and i still needs a lot of learning.
about the tagg,
I had to bring it somewhere .
you didn't know where it would go,
I am fine, because that is the most fun, right?
It was also the intention to make a mix of classical and dance.
I thank you for your criticism
and i hope you will like the following try-out ...
Digging the vibe on this. perfect choice of sounds, they fit nicely. Track sounds a tad squashed though, i'm assuming you bounced to a lower bit rate. Still the instrumentation is spot on. Suttle, peaceful, and chill. Just like chillout is supposed to be. nice. and i notice you write IN ALL CAPS ALOT. lol i used to do that for like a year or two on facebook. grew out of it though, for professional reasons....LOL but you do you man. lol nice track. peace
Digging this man. Has very tribal elements to it. The vocals from JJ are spot on too. nice smooth mix. everything sounds in place. keep up the good work! peace
Think i played this when you uploaded it. nice synth work in this. the string gets a little repetitive after a while but creates a nice drive at first. Me personally i think you can mesh and layer a little more sounds into the mix. maybe change the string up a little, some slight fx. kind of feel like your holding back. Sometimes when i compose my songs i will change up the entire arrangement. so in turn the songs you hear on my page might have undergone 3 to several changes! but yea, just my input! peace out brudda
i was planning to change it all up when i got the vocal, as that can change alot in terms of depth... the arrangement will change a bit. you know, ive listened to it a fair few times since writing it and i think the strings are repetitive aswell... if i ever get a vocal for it i will change that for sure...
First one huh? first one EVER? damn, i can hardly remember my first one.. and i joined actually way back in 08'! still a rebel in some sense too lol but yea digs the bass and mellowness. that's the perfect combination. and green tea. lol or a 99cent can of arizona. love those, especially when there on sale. 2 for the buck! lol dope track my dude, can't believe i ain't listened none of your older stuff. it's sick!
i can hear my noobitry all through it lol. this was back in the early days of usin ableton live. also back before i got freindly with the ginsu on loops. thanks for time travelin, glad you could dig it.
!! ah! holy shit man! i love green tea too! LOL i always have it with a blunt in hand though haha. best combination to me. was planning to drop a mixtape called "bluntz and green tea"( I also rap too, i dunno if you heard of the older songs i had on here) but too much ish has been going on lately! wow, were more alike then i thought brudda. like what i'm hearing too...great trippy instrumentation! catching a natural high just from listening! niceeeee. peace!
its the truth. went to the store yesterday, only one gallon of the tradewinds green tea was left. they were fully stocked on the sweet tea tho. everybody loves green tea. thanks for the listen and the comments neo.
Nice, more bass content in this if anything. i thought i was quiet at first...which it is a little. but any of us bassheads(and not the snorting kind) knows that BASS has alot of dynamics and power. can completely swallow a track if your not careful. but this is really sweet dude. like the watery synth that comes in later, makes me wanna light a phat one. as dub tends to do haha but just digging through ya works brudda. ILL so far. peace!
did this song inspired by the corpse rises. bass is sort of obese, but not morbidly. it was mixed with a old speaker setup i had, sub was a lot smaller than the one i have now. does kinda smother everything else now that you mention it.
I don't know HALF the words you used in the little intro part of your description lol and nice..your using ozone like me. at least on this track. that eq's mid and side frequency editing really is something huh? great mastering, allows for much more air and clarity to flow through, if you know your stuff that is haha but shit man, that was really something for such a short track! i'm guessing it's you drumming! looked back on your profile...it's in your box for instruments. so just assuming. got skills ma dude! peace! and keep it up
thanks for the listen neo. the names all come from taking the latin species name for ring worms found in field mice, and switching and adding letters. i find myself using ozone on everything now. other plugins have pretty much been shelved. and no, the drums are also a loop from soundpool vol12.
Man, i don't what your current situation is, and if you even log in anymore. but your approach in the ambient genre is pretty mystical to say the least. ha reminds me of aphex twin. this is great brudda. peace be with you! great track!
Good lord man......that just mellowed me out....the instant that pad started it caught me into a inner world of peace almost. tranquility and focus absolute. a fantastic use of minimalism and eases and relaxes the soul. this is why i love music. you have inspired me brudda! definitely deserves more attention. peace be with you!
Uh oh! samurai beat time! lol like the kyoto melody, at least i think that's what the instrument is called. Very melodic. synths are bright. maybe just a little too much in the high's. but overall good. peace!
Hmm dig the creativeness. in my humble opinion however i don't dig Lil B. he's a disgrace to hip hop. he's a pure entertainment factor. and mixing with daft punk eh i dunno man! daft punk is awesome, originators! but anyways definitely can dig the vibe though, the lil B sample plays back a little off. production is solid though. keep it up! peace
I like lil b. I can respect what your saying, but he has some real songs too, and he makes me laugh lol. But everyone has their own opinion. Idk if it will be in the final version. But thanks fam. And hell yeah daft punk is awesome.
Nice one...kind of sounds like a sample is skipping or something. the drums maybe?? hmm, yea brudda look into that! shit is skipping! i digs the vibe though man. real chill. "foggy room" for real! oh man, about time to light up..lol gotta re up first though. peace out homie!
i took the sample group and exported it from maschine to live where i made 3 tracks with it. 2 are reversed, and they play starting at different points. one of them has a ableton multi effect on it that has a chorus and flanger on it. could be that. might have to adjust the mix. thanks for the heads up neo. ill get to it tommorow, been doin the mix on 4 songs today sittin in this fog, ears are spent.
Nice, i listened to this yesterday, but got distracted with some other stuff so i didn't review. i nice concept. although the SAW franchise NEEDS to end! like man, WTF else can they do to torture people in that movie! and i've never played dead space, but have watched plenty of gameplay videos and trailers, and shit like that. seems dope. scary! like doom 3 and F.E.A.R. Although i think fear has to be the best horror based FPS. it's awesome. but yea cyber man sweet fukin track. definitely a banger! peace
Sup winner of my challenge! LOL bet you was surprised! hope you got some creative juices going from the challenge. sounds like you did with this track. I don't normally like making a track with "backing" vocals continually speaking through the track, but you played it out pretty well on this. good stuff man. nice and chill. peace!
