Awesome. Reminds me of what I consider the golden age of Jamaican reggae in the 70s. Righteous!!

You are spot on Zootman. My influence growing up in the 70's was experiencing a huge societal shift away from from the contempory music of the time. Reggae, Ska, Punk, Disco, and early synth music which got my attention. Thank you for that.

on The Dead Zone by Pnnywze
Excited to hear some colabs from you Aaron! I hope you do something with Pseudoble, I love his music, I think you guys could do something a little different together. Anyway, this ones deep and dark and sounds like a soundtrack for the end of the world. I think your stuff often has a cinematic, epic quality to it. Lots of gravitas!! och aye, Chris

Yeah, for sure. He sent me some stuff to go thru, it's next on the list. I hope to use it in some unexpected ways, later on in the week, be in the lookout for it. I try to make each piece like it was my last, and to try new things. It all adds up, over time. I'm having fun, and hopefully that translates to what is heard. Thanks for your support l, bro. - Aaron

Man this sounds so good, even just through my little speaker by my computer. Good vibes to warm me up on a day down here in the south where we're getting snow flurries (at sea level!).

This is great man. Love the lyrics. Sometimes some suffering is good for the art I think. All the best Zoot

Thanks a lot Zoot, your stuff on your page is so inspiring, I feel this type of music is right in your wheel house so you giving it a listen and feedback means a lot! You're absolutely right about suffering being good for art. Sometimes creativity can sprout from a single seed of misery.

Your vocals always sound amazing to me, in terms of performance and production. It's a great track, lots going on but all on point and adding to the cruisy vibe. Fsntastico.

Hello Chris, I'm very pleased that you like the track and the vocals. Yes, it's true, I have a tendency to pack a lot into it, and thank God it works in most cases. In fact, I'm working on doing less, leaving things more open, and I keep finding that it's much easier to pack the tracks full than to be frugal. That's probably due to the way I've worked so far, building the tracks. I would need to take a completely different approach. Producing a pop song isn't magic if you know the rules. I want to get to the point where I produce away from the rules, outside the norm, and that's certainly a long way off. You're way ahead of me there, Chris, although I'm sure you'll dispute that...
Thank you very much for your praise.
Cheers,
Micky

on Tell Me Your Side by dimestop
Great stuff Paul, genuine and emotive. I get the feeling that once you've made friends with someone you'd be loyal to them andin it for the long haul, thick or thin. Cheers Zoot.
dimestop
dimestop replied 17th Aug 2024 - 1 year ago
thanks Chris, yeah thats right, i choose friends wisely and that's simply because its your choice, loyalty is an important word among friends, loyalty isn't just given out it's earnt, Manuela earned my loyalty and hopefully i've earnt hers on trust and respect, just like you and all the other guys and how we linked because we wanted to do things right and isn't that what everyone wants, longevity in your friendships, then it proves the friendships are real and mean something, you can't choose your family you get what your given, thats why your choice of friends needs to be made wisely

on LIFETIME by glennwhite6504
I've listened to both of these tracks, a couple of times each. Admittedly, that was while I'm working so they didn't get my undivided attention. But for all that, they are both beautifully played and produced. I am highly envious of your feel and technical proficiency! And it is so good to hear more acoustic, human music here amidst so much over-produced stuff. By the way, my acoustic is an Ibanez too. Don't' remember the model but it is a large bodied, solid top thing. Bought with a tiny bit of money I inherited from my German grandmother 30 or so years ago (when I was in my 20's). I call it Berna after her. It has a nice sound but the action is too high now. I need to try and get it fixed up. Still has a nice tone though. Anyway, keep em coming. Like Dimestop I sometimes attempt to sing so be careful. All the best, Zoot.

Hello Zootman....of course I appreciate your post very much, I'm just a lover of music and feel pretty much through everything I play. I'm not a true player....I pretty much have taught myself enough to express what I feel through guitar practices and techniques but mainly it's the feeling. Thanks again for your kinds words. I do favor Ibanez acoustics as well as electrics....have several hollowbodies with the thinline body. I do believe the acoustic guitar has ability to express without being as loud as its electric counterpart.Theres definitely a place for both....just depends on the individual i guess. I do like them both and will continue to experiment. Once again appreciate you and until next time.

Super wide stereo on the synths, sounds great on my head phones. This has some sort of 50's vibe to me. Very cool track.

on I dont wanna be by Nonube
Love it bro. It's got a dub thing going on to my ears. I like the sound production and the loopy semi repetitive nature of it is also cool. Your minimal kinda intense vocals are perfect in my opinion and suit the track to a t. Faved...:)

I liked this as an ambient tune, background music that also repays closer listening. Felt like I was back travelling in South America sometimes.

Glad I clicked on this. If you'd called it accoustic I'd not have thought twice! More blues than soul maybe. Great playing, I'm envious!

Hey brother, I was checking out some of your stuff. Now that's great playing and very creative. I will leave some comments on your tracks. Yeah, I always have a problem identifying with a genre. This is played on a Artco Ibanez hollow body with a modified Bigsby tremolo arm, no amp. Used my phone video recorder. Switched it to Mp3 to upload. I just hope its music. lol. Appreciate your ears and kind words. Music, for me, is from the Soul. PEACE.

Nice change ups in this, great keys and guitar too. At times I was getting a Leftfield vibe, no bad thing in my book.

on Lunacy by dimestop
This is gold mate in terms of performance and production. I sometimes flick onto people's profiles who have downloaded my tracks. The new system that shows the stats on comments, downloads etc is interesting. Some people have taken thousands of loops and lots of tracks but left maybe half a dozen comments. I find that curious to say the least.
dimestop
dimestop replied 5th Jul 2024 - 1 year ago
thanks Chris, that's exactly what i did looking at the new stats layout, firstly my own then a number of other artists too, i can't remember who i checked quite a few, but the stats were shocking, and i found similar results to you 1000's of downloads and either no comments or very few out and lots of them have no tracks or uploads, what are they doing with our loops and tracks ? and if you check when they joined the site and it was like an hour before, they up to no good, there is also some well known artist that give nothing back, thats rude and selfish because non have their comments off, im all for our community and the artist who share and give back, irrelevant of how much time you spend here its what you give back that matters to me

on Lose your Fear - Ft Ashes And Dreams by AlanMcLarenProject
Another moody and immersive track. There's a sense of anticipation all the way that's only resolved at the end when you drop the distorted guitar. Kinda almost a bit p J Harvey. Nice guitar tones, you use a sim or real amp?
AlanMcLarenProject
AlanMcLarenProject replied 2nd Jul 2024 - 1 year ago
Thank you for stopping by again! I am glad to read you caught the sense of the progression with gradual buildup to the distorted guitars.
Guitars are sims, for the clean/reverbered guitar I used Solaris GTR, for the distorted one Ample Guitar LP from Ample Sound
