im getting some clicks on the left side, it cuts off short, and it sounds a bit empty at times (though maybe thats a chillout thing, or maybe just me). its got some good ideas though, the guitar and "wind" are good examples
The empty parts I think is when one of the vsts I used failed to render the sound properly, don't know why it did or how to fix it because it works inside Fl but doesn't render the sound.
The guitar I had a lot of fun with the delay, and the wind was pretty simple to make.
darkness doesnt frighten me, it could be so much darker, but im not entirely sure how much. this is good, but the drums are kind of distorting out the strings, even if that was the intention,it still makes it kind of painful. youve got a great intro to an anything nevertheless
first go eh? those drums are all over the place, not sure if you intended that or not. the second run for them is not freaking me out as much. youve got talent brewing in there is what i can tell
yeah man. i was goin for a really syncopated burialstep kinda tune, maybe took it a bit too far. Anyway i gota new one up, check it out, thanks for the review
Thanks Cybetooth. Appreciate the review. I pitch shifted a british kid taliking about why he's on the earth. I know it's a little distorted it just adds to the effect. Thanks again for the review. Blume :)
Heh heh so i've heard and will probably keep hearing. I tried to tone it down but my memory got erased, so im stuck with the really distorted version. Sry about that.
when in doubt, put under electronic, but ambient is a pretty bendable genre too. like the pseudo horn part, and the drums are pretty good, the textures are good too. interesting stuff
i thought so, your turning into a very good dubstep producer with an industrial like edge. i always thought some dubstep would be be good for boss battles in video games and the like. the dropwas good, the bassline was good, the drums were good. no compplaints here
i think your laying it on a bit heavy there with the bass drum, too many hits with it, and way too much of it if you take my meaning. at 1:00 onward is a good example of what is good.
nice glitchy bass there, and the other sounds make this an interesting glitchstep peice
why thank you my man. ill get around to making another halfstep wobble track eventually... i need to crank out some cheezy happy hardcore first though.
i prefer livecut, but dblue is good too. glitchy jungle beats and bass in the background and the spooky pads in front, thats an unusual combination. im not sure whether i want to keep the drums where they are or move them up sront, i think theyre good where they are. will keep watching
thanks tekn, theres just not enough good glitch songs on looperman, mostly just done by eevileomadayus. but this is the stuff im talking about! beleive it or not, i think i know what sound that is that you started out with, or at least i have something similar. all i can really say is, turn up da bass! it would benifit from some sub frequencies
No probs man i've become a bit of a glitch maniac to be honest and yeah ur right the sound at the start is 2 looperman glitch samples that i thought sounded pretty good together. I do struggle with getting good sub bass though as my speakers are fair rubbish think its time to upgrade
another track i can play whenever anyone asks how my brain works. almost wish i could hear the drums more, the high noise or something distorts it out, i dont know if thats part of the point... but still
interesting stuff here, thats always a plus in my book
i was waiting... and waiting for a release like a big bassline... but maybe im listening to too much dubstep. this is a nice track you got going here. nice with the strings, and the drums make the peice enjoyable to listen to... but its still missing something.... like vocals, but you never know what works. the end is a bit abrupt too, maybe extend it just a bit longer
im with nomad, i never expected it not to be dark ambient though im less suprised with the glitch elements. you have done something strange, but still unique and beautiful. and as stated before, it sticks to the theme well.
the first part is the landing i suspect, gazing down at the planet, looking upon it in awe. and the second part is landed, getting out and doing whatever it was needed to be done.
i think you should keep it where it is and do an experimental or ambient electro track like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odRQ2IZaG1g
use this melody like the spacey sound is used, its an interesting style.you could also get an interesting dubstep track out of it, i could help you in the spots you have trouble with for that if you need. you could make it trancestep, ill link you a track for that if your interested
of course, this could be just hearing a sound i like and trying to apply it to styles i like more than just a little
but it might be a good idea to slow down the delay, or replace it with reverb.
I worked on the song for about 3-4 hours yesterday. It has breakbeat elements to it, trance elements... dubstep? Could be a possibility. Maybe as a bridge or a buildup. Ambient? Could be an ambient dubstep bridge :D
Thanks for the review!
Ste :)
EDIT: I stuck by the ambient dubstep bridge, the song still isn't finished yet though, so it could stay or go, I haven't decided yet :)
if went to war, something like this should be playing in the background. i think you might be able to transition between the orchestra and the guitar bits a bit better, just not quite so sudden, but its cinematic so heaven knows what the change is for (or at least for me). but the sounds go together very well (or they dont and that still works), and i like the feel of this track
---suggestions to do this:
-build an effect, and then release into your next part
-slowly take away part A, then slowly add in the part B while taking away part B (youll probably want to opt for the first transition for a sudden one)
Hey thanks for the feedback. Yeah there's no transition at all between the two samples, I wanted to keep a certain dynamic to the track and had no idea of other transition that would achieve that. But I'll give it a try, thanks for yr opinion, really appreciated.
