lovin that guitar. maybe turn down the hi hats a bit so it doesnt draw too much attention from it?
this song im liking the feel of so far, but it kinda needs to get bigger. like... its just grinding along slowly right now making me want an explosion.
like where this is going, cant wait to hear the finished version :)
love that rising synth, and like the way the distorted bass drum tones work with the peice. although, the vocal over and over is kinda annoying, maybe just use it as a sting when the music stops?
solid listen overall
i wasnt really sure what to expect when that was building up, i wasnt dissapointed when the bass dropped though. great production there, but the mastering is kinda drowning out things, might want to get that leveled.
Wow! Reactions like this from you Cybertooth is a huge compliment. It's you guy's that keep me inspired with your great music and ideas! Man I really appreciate the listen bro!
how the heck did you get me to listen to pop and enjoy it?
i mean seriously now, this doesnt sound like your standard pop song, sounds like its got some real emotion to it
this is my favorite kind of dubstep
the dark gritty bass and mechanical drums clashing with a wonderful atmosphere
light and darkness made one if you will
wonderful atmosphere, filthy bass, epic piano, lovely voice
favs for sure
if you want, i can try throwing some drums on here
or another collab sometime if you want
this is good, some people forget that dubstep is defined just as much by what isnt there as well as what is (and im coughing for internet so im going to have to cut this short)
thats a really good first one, loved the dub feel. kinda miss that early dubby dubstep feel, not a whole lot of em nowadays.
i especially liked those windchimes at the end. i think my favorite part of the songs were when the drums got a little more complex, and that unexpected glitchiness about halfway through.
Hey thanks Cyber!!! Haven't heard from ya in a while... I appreciate the review man... Yeah for my first I think it came out pretty decent... Still need work in the dubstep dept but I'll get it one of these days... You're tracks lately have been blowing me away bro.. Good deep dark industrial feel... I think the next one I do is gonna be a lil more dirtier and complex... Just got my recorder man... I promised Neologist I would send him some organic field recordings. Would you like some too?? Just let me know and I'll send them to ya. I would still like to finish a collab with you one of these days...lol... But I know we always got projects going and it's hard to find the extra time... But I'll stop blabbering now... Thanks again man...
Hope all is well wit ya...
my advice, leave it be. but look into some mastering tutorials anyways. that was a pretty cool journey, if you want something to make it a little better though, i would give it a bit more range, the frequencies sound kinda crushed right now (a disadvantage partially made obvious by the disortion on the drums). when it comes to panning, i think itd be cool if you had a different chord note on the other side of the wind instrument(? sounds like a synthesized oboe). but overall, that was a pretty cool journey sir, so i salute you
Thanks cyber! always appriciate your advice, and actually I owe you a thanks as well, as I got the idea for the drums using your forum post. I'll see what i can do about throwing another note on the other side of that... but the horns/oboe whatever the hell they were are a sample, so I may just have to pull another instrument in to pull that off. Thanks for the review!
on the off chance that i decided to listen to a hip hop track, i was rewarded. hehe, this is crazy man, the things behind the scratching are a bit repetitive but its a pretty cool sound. from the sounds your getting i can tell youd be a good glitcher if you care at all for the genre.
Glad to see openmindedness. That's one of the most fun parts of this sorta thing, I feel! I appreciate your taking the time to review as well. Very kind. I have, actually started to gain some interest in some glitchy, ('that a word?lol)sounds lately for possibly the same reason you brought it up. hum, you got me thinkin now... :) Hey, thanks again Cybertooth :) (ps. i'll have to drop in with your's as an outsider, too.)
call this ultra odd, but i think the bass drum is a little loud... and bright?... maybe just tone it down a little bit and it will be fine, i cant hear much of the other drums (unless thats how you intended). but you got some pretty sick guitars going there, and very much like it aside from the level issues
Thanks for the review. Yea there's alot of things going wrong on this lol. The drums are processed to hell. Kick I know is pushing to near or is actually clipping. The sounds being drowned out isn't intentional. There's hats and crashes that don't come through at all. This track need's work. Alot of work lol. I think nows a good time to dust it off and apply some different techniques and see what comes out. Cheers and thanks for the great review. Cheers :D
this is cool, isnt like those crazy tearoutyoureardrums dubstep tunes ive heard sometimes. most of the DS tunes i like are kinda like this, slow and heavy, not too insane, just chillin, kinda like a secret agent. and with that bass, i always kill myself to get an only amazing sounding bass, but youve shown me a different way to use the basslines, so thanks for that.
and yes... WAY TOO SHORT! add a break and then bring it on home is my suggestion
Add a break and bring it on home... or maybe make a new track completely seems like a better idea to me. But I'm glad you liked the track, still need time to practise Dubstep, but once I get better I'll post another.. if I get better, that is. This might be as good as my dubstep gets.. I hope not though, not too happy with this track, but its good enough to stay on for now.
dont know if youve ever heard of glitchstep, but its something worth looking into. i think what this mix is mixing is some background ambience, get like some strings or something and glitch em to hell and youve got a smashing song going.
The drums underneath keep everything moving beuatifully. like the ambientish beginning, this sounds like something used in a video game (and not the old kind). the "animal noises" LMAO
hell ya you can haha no one has ever asked me that! i will try to finish it within a week or so, just been real busy at work last few days. thanks for review and fav man :) will check ya out when get a chance
personally not being a fan of the 8-bit sound, if anyone else had made this, i would not have listened to it. Definitly hearing this type of sound from Zomby, so if you need some inspiration, that would be a good place to go. (i hear those glitch fx there man) once again, i usually hate 8-bit, but this i like
Add:make sure with the y... and of course i use sonar which is glitchy on its own, so i wouldnt know. its better as an audacity effect though
