on This Is a Beat I Need Rappers On by epic12367
woah! this is original as all get out
your sense of when to give and when to withhold makes this easy to fit a thick rap over it, id say its a healthy amount of negative space
i see why so many downloads, id love to throw this onto my tables
keep it up!

on Just Messin by DJJoker
unpredictable but rewarding
and this piece contains several worthy samples
that wah work is amazing too, often i find the wah to be overindulgent or shoehorned in, that is not the case here
i may just use this to practice on my tables if you dont mind

on Beautiful Summer - ft Joseph Rodriguez by JoyfulWAVE
this is relevant to my interests
i love romance guitar above all else
the depth is amazing, i can play this on my phone and still have it sound great, but when the monitors/subs get ahold of it, its like opening a pop up book, so many layers and such nuance

on first track by 64liam6464
i always love when people get creative with their pairings
piano/synth is great and you layered them apart, (something that took me forever to figure out)
the synth line carries along with the drums well but perhaps a third instrument (or a sample that comes in on a cadence) would help bridge the gap between the two grooves and make the piano follow along a little tighter
all in all, if this is where youre starting out, youre doing great, keep it up!

on Sound of Silence wub wub wub Darkstep Remix by Reficul1889
Nice layout! This is easily my favorite S&G track, and I'm glad you've kept the soul intact, while managing to create a truly inspired piece in it's own right. Great work!

Thank you kindly. Also one of my favorite tracks by those two, a song with a very relevant message still today. I'm a bit of a preachy politico DJ and found it an easy choice for a project.

on Kurosawa ft MStokes and Tumbleweed by AllenV
this is sh-- is about to go down music right here.
The bass is creatively handled, and the rhythm is inspired and taut

Hey Doc,Thanks!
This one did pull me out of my box a bit.I see Pink Floyd as a favorite album of yours so I hope to do more of that style in the future...and I do like your track "Holly"...I just have to get back to your page and comment properly, and I will!

on Ephemeral by visionarysoundsystem
This one is my favorite!
It's really impressive that you constructed this out of completely seperate loops.
I love the vocals and strings particularly, filler or nay, I would spin the **** out of this.

Thanx again Doc for such a positive reveiw. Glad you enjoyed the track. As I said in the description I wanted something simple that chuggs along and I do feel I acheived that with this track. I really appreciate you taking time to listen & review my stuff my friend. Peace, Love & Justice to Ya .

on Constant Temperature Pump by visionarysoundsystem
been listening to tosh, marley, and the wailers since in-utero.
Have you heard of turbulence? His kind of voice would fit nicely.
Your mixing is flawless, and even with the mellow vibe, it's got a serious edge to it. The bassline and bright guitar really pull me in.
Do you do reggae often?
It seems like you really know what youre doing.
visionarysoundsystem
visionarysoundsystem replied 24th Feb 2012 - 13 years ago
Thanx for that Doc. Such a positive vibe for one of my favourite tracks. I don't do reggae that often. I think maybe 4 of my uploaded tracks are that genre. But it's a genre I love. Been listening seriously to reggae since I was about 13. A long time now lol and I really appreciate the fact that you have felt my love of the sound. My friend your reveiw has made my day thanx.

on Odins Tree by 1492TheLie
Your work evokes memories of dave wise, he is by far my favorite composer. This song would be right at home with any of his work.
You may consider soundtrack work or theme music on the side.

Thank you for the kind words. That kind of composing is exactly what I want to do. Also, thank you for introducing me to Dave Wise!

on The Roll by 1492TheLie
Excellent tonal depth, a melody that meanders like early french folk music, and the movement of the notes puts me at ease. I will certainly be watching for this one to come out the oven.
Most songs dont end up as good as this one started.

I always love a good piano, and your subtlety of sampling is sharp, making an atmosphere and never just sfx.
Well done! Its moody and precise.

on Insanity and Silence - Rayzen and Kamikaze Dream by Varren
This track is unique. This is quite an inspiring work. I really like the mixture of different musical components, made first, impossibly harmonius, then wonderfully dischordant. Its intense and the production is well handled. The intros a little slow, but thats probably just me haha

i love the use of the biohazard sequences, very ambient.

on A Real Bad Girl by RapidFire
I love the romance guitar in the background, and the song flows from part to part so effortlessly. The verses build up with deliberation and the fills fit great.
The hook acca could be be turned down a bit though, the modulation on it seems a tad off. And
You have structure and format down, and that verseA-VerseB translation is very strong.

i really love the textures you chose in this they have a nice interplay, very hypnotic when you boost the bass. the calm airy melody over the searing bassline has an interesting contrast.
