Nice, smooth & big screen ready. An improvisional type guitar player would do well with this. I'm sorry that's not me. I like this as a mood setter, atmosphere inducer as is. Moke
Groovy daddyo. Makes me think of a smoky basement club in the late 50's & early 60's. Avantgarde pictures painted on the walls. Beatniks filling the room. Poetry reading in 20 minutes. Cool track man. Moke
Great combo, harp & piano. I like the way they flow together. This is kinda trance like. It would be a nice piece to go on for about 4 minutes or so. It could also easily be looped to play behind a game. Good tune. Oh, and don't feel bad about not getting reviews. I have one tune with 5oo listens & 6 reviews. What's that tell you? Moke
This brought back memories. I grew up around country/gospel/folk music. Usually played by a pickup jug band. Us kids got to start with the jugs, washboards, kazoos, comb & waxpaper and the jaw harps. I didn't progress past the jaw harp. Wish now, I'da paid more attention. I like, keep'em comin. Moke.
Hi Mokeone,
I already answered you on this in another e-mail, but just wanted to say I appreciate your review here. Sounds like you had a lot of fun growing up as I have only seen what your talking about on the TV show, 'Hee Haw'. One of my favorites.
Thanks again...more coming!
Randy
If that was an example of what you can do with just loops, I can't wait till you play for us. You're right about the lack of dobro, mandolin, etc. Are you considering making some loops of the instruments you play, for us the instrumentally challenged? Please do. Welcome aboard the looperman express. Moke
Hello there Mokeone,
Sorry, it doesn't look like I responded to your review here. Sometimes I don't always get an e-mail showing that someone did a review of my
song(s).
Anyways, thanks for listening to it and your nice comments.
I may make some loops, just have to look into it more.
Sounds like from what I read, you can't make a very long loop at all. Just a few seconds? Some of mine would be maybe 10-15 seconds long.....like maybe 4 bars.
Thanks again,
Randy
I can see this song playing over a montage of you studying hard for your exams. Seriously working over open books in the desktop spotlight. Well done. Moke
DV, I picked this up too. I'll add it to my list of "things to do". It does have a movie quality to it. We'll see what happens. I'll get back to you. Moke
You honor me, kind sire. The movie qual thing I think comes from the addition of the higher hums. And that's what inspired me to name it what I did. Feel free to do whatever and I look forward to hearin it whenever ya do it. L&R amigo!
After reading JG's review, I can just picture what the Gizzard coat of arms might look like. lol What a tasty treat this is. Isn't organized chaos fun? You can organize chaos, can't you? Well, you did here. Nicely done Sir Gizzard. Moke
This is a sweet piece of work. The opening reminded me a bit of an old Grand Funk song. "I'm Your Captain", I believe. I would also like to try my hand at creating something from this, with your permission. Moke
go right ahead Just googled I'm your Captain.
Yea I see the start part. Don't know why, but I thought that was a doobie's song. Must of been to many doobie's of my own inthe 70's.
While this was playing, my sonic screwdriver lit up & beeped. Do you think it was trying to tell me how good this is? Like Doctor Who, does this come with a sequel? I sure hope so.
I can easily see this as a video game tune or as the lead into something larger. The melody is way cool too. I think it's got a nice arabian vibe to it.
Good track here. A bit of hypnotic trance, a bit dance with some other bits & pieces mixed in for good measure. This stands alone as is but then again, almost anytrack can be tweeked/rearranged/remixed/edited...you get my drift. At some point YOU, as the creator, have to get happy with it. That's when it's finished. SO, it's up to you.
You are certainly a monumental talent. Great song all way round. I thought the vocals were good as is. Gives it a nice bluesy/been there, done that/too many late nights with a bottle & a smoke, feel.
Hi Mokeone, if I drop the vocals down an octave I might sound like Tom Waits. To be honest Mr E is right it's a high song and I wasn't at my best, so I intend to sort them out this week. I'm glad you like the song. Chicago just blew me away and I had to do something about it. Cheers Slap...
Whack man. I like this. It reminds me of They're coming to take me away & 1 burbon, 1 scotch & 1 beer, just to name two. I like the spoken word type of song. It's not rap & it's not sung. It's a story set to music. The beat's cool & works well with this.
