Impressive beginning and it only got better when the bass kicked in. I listened to this a few times and "wow!" just keeps popping into my thoughts! Loved the muted trumpet, the trumpet player in my old band would use his from time to time, it always made me smile. Are these real musicians playing bass, horns, flute? It doesn't sound like plugins to me. You have some talented friends my talented friend!

Top notch, one of the best jazz songs I've heard on the site. Great song Scott, keys were sweet all the way through and a nice variety. Always a pleasure!

4 years, wow, doesn't seem that long ago you joined. 2012 was a tough year form me so I wasn't around often, missed it on it's debut, sorry. Pretty neat track. I like percussion so when you went nuts with the bongos and shakers I was totally diggin' it! You constructed it as an evolving, ever morphing, juicy musical audible treat for me to play and enjoy a couple times to get it all soaked in before I could comment.

Still a nice debut, it was new to me today, he. Cool track!

There are a lot of nice subtle keyboard parts scattered about. The piano is nicely played, I liked the part about 1:10 especially. The guitar fills work and the vocal sample seems to enhance the overall feel of the track. I don't care for the sound of the hand claps, just personal I guess. Missed this one when you posted it, sorry Alex.

I appreciate your nice comments. This is an older production and probably one of the first here on looperman of mine. The vocal sample is from unexisting acapella but I could use only the short little fragment... Anyway at a time I had no mastering skills whatsoever so that's the reason for strange clap sound placement haha, there's no compression and it is very sketchy...
I played strings, e piano and the acoustic piano (both plugins) - all the rest (drums, bassline, guitar fills) were samples.

Like others, I liked the intro sample as well, very Beatlesque. I like the thick guitars, nice layering. I think with a little less limiting/compression on the master it may separate the instruments a little more in the mix, things may stand out more. There is an artifact as the song starts, no biggie but it's noticeable. Pretty groovy tune, brings me back a few years. Well done TV!

Thanks Wayne and I am with you on tweaking the master a bit. I would love to get more separation. I had to look up what an artifact means in regards to recording music. I am still new to a lot of this recording stuff. I will be going in and cleaning up some rough spots and fine tuning the mix a bit.

I like the change around the 2 min mark, the walk up. Your vocals are strong and really standout. The song is very well composed. I think a rock kit would would great on this track. It sounds like 90's alt rock to me, real vox and guitars maybe bass, synths and synthesized drums. It works as it is, cool track!

Sounds like the blues to me, made me sad as hell. :( lol

I think some compression to the mix might do this a world of good but it works the way it is. Nice separation of the instruments, they all have a place and job to do and it's all good. Well done!

The synths at about 40 seconds made me smile, that was such a popular sound back then. That flute was nice, Ian Anderson sitting in that day? lol

Rhythm git had that funky slick sound and attack. Strings were well executed and to me gave the song the 70's total feel. Although disco wasn't my bag back then I can look at it differently now and appreciate it more. You nailed it Scott!

Yeah, back in the day, that synth sound was made by the first drum synthesizers. I had three of them called Synare http://www.snipview.com/q/Synare. They also made the 'clap' sounds used back then, too. They hadn't perfected the sampled drum sounds like they have today.

I wasn't much on disco, either, then I joined a big horn style disco band and really started to dig it, so it's kinda cool to be trying to replicate the sound today.

Hey, thanks for listening! Logic has such an awesome tape stop/speed up effect -- that's really the only "effect" I used from logic besides reverbs and delays. Lots of tweaking the "noise" knob on my synths!

Some great sounds in this track. The big "distorted trombone" sound was pretty cool. Sounds a bit industrial to me. A little Herbie Hancock sound in there as well. Would love to see a computer generated video done for this, my mind is full of ideas.

Pretty cool track, interesting all the way through and a great combination of sounds using all the freq range. Well done!

That piece of music you've put up is awesome stuff.
Takes me back to my wonderfully misspent youth in the early seventies but try as I might I can't pull a name out of the hat and I think it's because it may well have a retro feel to it but it is totally original.

I think I downloaded all of alividlife's drum loops, think I just listened to this one the other day. I use ez drummer, easy and real drums as well. The main riff reminds me of Turning Japanese by the Vapors.

Lots of energy. Needs some bad ass bass now and some vox with attitude. So far so good as a starting point, look forward to hearing it finished!

Pretty tasty piece of music guys, wouldn't expect anything else really. Big mix, everything shines through cleanly. Some cool reversed guitar.? Keys were splendid especially liked the piano, nice choice of different keys, well played and mixed in. Bass, outstanding as usual pal! The horns were a cool add, reverb puts them in the mix well.

Great overall feel to the track, first one of the day for me, got me movin' and groovin'!

Hey Wayne,thanks buddy,your comments are very much appreciated mate! been using an outboard processor for all my reverbs now (Lexicon MX400)and it seems to be working out well,the added benefit is no accrued vst load on my computer's cpu,the trouble with out board gear is it can get pretty pricey as you well know,I want an Avalon 757,U5 etc etc next....I need heaps of spondula! lol..don't we all! cheers mate Dave :)

Don't forget to clean your needle off when playing your records, he. Nice intro, I don't miss the crackling noise while listening to music these days unless it is an effect like here. Hey Domenico, hope you are well!

Billy Dragon's pella's are always interesting, he has his own style that stands out. I like the relaxed feel to the track, very 70's to me. The keys and guitar with the blues style drums set a neat tone and feel to the track. The vocals are not typical of this style of music but they work great. I like the guitar stabs, nice attack.

Well done man, very cool track!

Very nice track Jamid. I enjoy this music while I am driving or while painting watercolors, it can help to focus and concentrate on one thing like a meditation. I also think this would work as a cinematic piece in a film, showing a passage of time or a montage. Always impressed with what you bring!

I can really hear this track way back when, your description was good. I liked the vox firstly. I listened to Ministry and other bands from that era when music was becoming more synthesized, it was popular and it was everywhere. TGroove mentioned Pet Shop Boys, good analogy. I can hear some more influences here as well. Nice guitar and synths with a cool arrangement, well thought out.

Even though this isn't my usual listening material I did enjoy this quite a bit. Thought the mix was excellent and it was interesting all the way through. Nice job Mark!

Thought the intro was cool, neat effects on the git. The first part rocks. The first transition into the second slower part, just past 1:00, reminded me of a Jethro Tull styled change. Different instrumentation but your instruments still reflect something they did a lot with tempo changes and dynamics. Same thing with the last change. Drums set the pace and the instruments follow along as far as dynamics.

Maybe Jethro Tool. lol

It's a setting I made on my bass pedal called "Next Room". I don't have ANY guitar effects, so I've not made the greatest tones for guitar, but I work with what I have.

"Jethro Tull styled change."

I've listened to maybe two singles from them and that is it. Shame on me. I've been compared to them, King Crimson and Zappa. Never listened to any of them. I apparently would like it. Been REALLY into Katatonia lately. Their early stuff sucks(screaming doom whatnot) but they went a new direction at some point and became amazing. Viva Emptiness is their best album in my opinion, you know, if you wanted to check them out.

Funny and true! The things people tell other people online about themselves is amazing. Now facebook can recognize people without their face even being in the picture. They know too much about people's lives and these folks seem pretty ignorant to the fact that they are collecting info on them.

I dig acoustic music and great lyrics about society. I've been working on a punk song about social media and such things, should be finished in a few weeks.

Nice job! I thought the vox could have been centered but a simple mix with limited instruments always works for me.

Hey man, good to see ya! This mix is sounding pretty clear and punchy, nice job! Nice easy tempo to rock out to, can't stop my foot from tapping. Great guitar tracks, well played and the tone is nice and thick, gotta love those Fender Tele's! Reminds me a bit of Lou Reed.

I just did an update on garageband and played with it for a few minutes. There are some nice sounds in there, loved the stand up bass plugin they have.

More tunes please!

Very nice idea overall. I like the singing, wish it was clearer but the idea is good. The drums seem a bit loud maybe even a little busy for the song, just my opinion. My suggestion would be to soften them with some more reverb or lower the volume a bit, even simplify them. Pretty cool idea though, well done MGproduct!

Like Evan, I liked the vocals. Thought they sounded like Howard Jones a little. Very cool track Scott, guitars were awesome and the synths were nicely added. Lot happening here but still spacious. The whole composition is great, from the arrangement to the performance, it rocks!

Dig the instrumental intro, heavy and captured my attention instantly. I've always loved rap/rock fusion music. Some of it leans one way while some of it leans the other and the creativity of the writers and producers can really set it apart from other songs. You guys have a cool sound, I'd come out to watch you perform. You both and the band in general rock, keep 'em coming!

Intro was great, the run at about 12 seconds was to die for!! Pianos and pads work nicely together. Although I would doubt that a drum kit would be appropriate for a classical genre, it still has that overall feel and overtone to the track. Sounds more pop to me than anything but it definitely crosses over the genre spectrum. I like the appegio synth too.

Nice track, enjoyed it!

The genre-input-field while uploading is always the biggest challenge for me, lol.

My favorit part is around 1:12 to 1:20 maybe one day some women likes to share her voice with me for this track, that would be awesome. I would love to try/hear it with a female voice.

It's always interesting to hear people's music and mixing techniques. Mix is wide but damn this is real good music. Could be just what you were looking to do, a particular sound you were trying to get so I mean no disrespect. I was just the first thing I noticed besides the awesome intro and guitars.

Pretty funky to start off with then progresses into a cool synth/alt/prog/rock piece that was very well produced. Cinematic, absolutely, I could hear this in a sci-fi or action flick. Guitars were nice, the interaction was excellent and the effects were spot on. I love this length of song, gets people to hit that play button again because they say, "that was cool and it stopped way too soon", lol.
