One doesn't see tracks of this style posted on LM too terribly often. 60's era garage kind of vibe. 13th floor Elevators, the trashmen, the Sonics & so on. Vibes something like Suzi Q by CCR as well. With the "Carol Sue" line in this, I suppose such a comparison is inevitable. This track was quite fun to listen to & has a great "old school" groove. The mixing on this isn't perfect by digital standards (Nothing I post is either) but it's perfect for this track. It ads to the old school charm. Something like the original Runaway by Del Shannon, which sounds like it was recorded in a toilet stall with a three dollar microphone. "Remaster" that track & you'll destroy it's monophonic beauty. That's for sure. Old School beats the crap out of what's around today. I'm an old rocker so naturally I think that. So great job on this track all the way round.
Dear Mr Clickbaitcabaret, when I hear from you again, your servant am I, and will humbly remain. Take that for mentioning The Trashmen who channeled The Rivington's Papa Oom Mow Mow just like I channeled Suzie Q by Lonnie Mack -https://youtu.be/ktTqN2HykJY. and by CCR. I have both.
This is pretty terrific. Love the sax & piano in this as well as all the chanting vocal bits. What do I usually post about your work? "IT'S CARNIVAL!!!"
Lovely bells in the intro. Nice synth work. Has a "I've finally arrived at a realization" kind of a feel to it. Quite a lovely, if not low key track. Kudos.
Great vocalist & the lyrics are fun. Kudos for that. It's definitely "Americana" type rock & roll, which is great. This would sound fantastic being played by a bar band in the right sort of place. Like a "jeans & ball caps" kind of place over a "cosmopolitans & designer shoes" kind of a thing. The track is exceptionally clean & professional sounding as well. So great work all the way round on this.
Thank you. I wish I could claim credit for the great production but I wasn't even there, to be truthful, this is a crew that did a bunch of my songs and I relied on them completely and managed the process long distance. Most of the time a lot or all of the music was an orchestration of loops but this is one of the few times where it was all original music played in the studio. I agree - this should be done in a honkytonk kind of place, maybe with some sawdust on the floor or peanut shells. Thank you for your kind comment.
