Lovely bells in the intro. Nice synth work. Has a "I've finally arrived at a realization" kind of a feel to it. Quite a lovely, if not low key track. Kudos.
Great vocalist & the lyrics are fun. Kudos for that. It's definitely "Americana" type rock & roll, which is great. This would sound fantastic being played by a bar band in the right sort of place. Like a "jeans & ball caps" kind of place over a "cosmopolitans & designer shoes" kind of a thing. The track is exceptionally clean & professional sounding as well. So great work all the way round on this.
Thank you. I wish I could claim credit for the great production but I wasn't even there, to be truthful, this is a crew that did a bunch of my songs and I relied on them completely and managed the process long distance. Most of the time a lot or all of the music was an orchestration of loops but this is one of the few times where it was all original music played in the studio. I agree - this should be done in a honkytonk kind of place, maybe with some sawdust on the floor or peanut shells. Thank you for your kind comment.
I Love what sounds like a synth done as a reverse take in the intro, before "lets get some fish."Great job on the vocal loops mix.I love the way they fade in and out. This track has a kind of "light hearted hostility" to it. Like its funny, but angry at the same time. It kind of reminds me of the stuff the early electronic artists did in the 70s and 80s. Like throbbing gristle, psychic TV, vica versa and so on. Though this track is a throughly 21st century quantized digital mastering version of all that. So it is quite different in that way. It has a slight ambient bent in it as well (I'm on my third listen of it now)That happens toward the end before the crazy preaching and crying. I must say this is the most intriguing thing I've heard on looperman in some time. Possibly ever, so kudos.
This has a mournful quality to it I really like. (Of course I would like that.) The vocal fits into the mix quite nicely and the track has "space." By space I mean it isn't loaded with instruments, effects, multiple loops lots of percussion and so forth. Getting a dark, mournful feel on a track means giving the track a feeling of "space" and this track does that well. Take that critique from someone who makes a lot of dark, creepy tracks. So great job on this.
Thank you. I like that bit about "space." It was actually much more crowded with loops and music when we started, but we gradually stripped most of it away. It was tricky because a ghost of the deleted music was still in the recorded vocals, so that was something we had to finesse. But I realized it had to be stripped down and spare, and I'm really glad you, as a connoisseur of the mournful, responded positively.
Definitely has an 80's vibe to it. At the instrumental stage it sounds like a theme song to a film. Adding a vocal track would turn it into a retro 80's pop song. The melody is quite good & memorable & it sounds clean & professional. Good work.
This is quite "pretty" & definitely has a fantastic groove. Very clean & professional sounding track. Just give me a vodka & redbull & I'm hitting the dance floor.
For an EDM track this rather chill. I associate EDM with four on the floor, in your face type beats. So this is like the "slow dance" EDM track. From that perspective this track is quite interesting. o great job.
I agree that EDM is a bit different, but Looperman doesn't allow for more specific genre choices. It's why I included additional information in the description. I'd say it's a progressive track that incorporates elements from several genres, but it's easier to say EDM. Thank you for your feedback.
