I'm glad you survived this "HeadBanger"lol.
It started as a calm ballad but I guess I have
a lot of rage that needed to come out. I guess it
was just a matter of time before something snapped.
I'm sure Freud would blame this on my Mother lol. There
was only a Zillion other directions I could have went with
a Banjo lol.
I've missed the musical and friendship connection I got here om LM. This musical community has been like family to me over the years.
Thank you for your listen and encouragement TTYL...
Gritty and original Wayne style!
Btw I notice you do something I also do too often; your lead guitar (which is you) interrupts and sort of contradicts your singing (also you). Often it's worth it to see if you can do either/or, so there's more space both for your guitar and your vocal.
See if that works for you?
On every song I consider editing any of my instruments to accommodate the vocals. Been there, done that, a million times. But the song dictated to me to let the guitars rip. Nothing interferes with the vocals that I can hear and I can understand every word clearly in the song. Also the guitars are panned very wide, 35/50.
And I did give the lead guitar a break for the listener, between 1:30 and 1:33, lol. And that's all I intended giving the listener!! I'm not a guitar player, I'm someone who can play the guitar, there's a difference. I'm proud of the guitar, it's fitting I think and the sloppiness of it and cool gritty sound with a few stingers was too good to cut, it needed to be there, in my opinion.
But I do honestly appreciate the positive feedback. Thanks for stopping by!
I like it, as usual, but I do note there's a lot of distortion. If that's intentional then great; else consider to dial a couple tracks back. It seems to me the master is in the red zone and the vocals may be clipping by themselves too.
Which again, if you intended that great; but I think this track would sound even better with a smoother production :)
Good luck man, it's a good track, as always!
I think most of the distortion comes from the fact that I cant upload a .wav to this site. The wav file sounds pretty clean. I also use a compressor on my vocals, which might be what you are hearing.
Short and sweet. Nice theme melody, good variation and actually I wouldn't mind this to be a bit longer! Can you add a bridge and then one more section with the main melody?
The intro reminded me of a song of the 90s; I thought it was Maxwell - Ascension, but seems that's not it. Anyway, I'm guessing you will like him? It's a compliment btw, I was a pretty big fan - saw him live on a festival and he completely blew us away.
Thank you, Bao, for the high compliment. I too like Maxwell. I can only imagine the energy of that concert. The 90s; was a verry creative era in music. Artist were still writing music from the heart as opposed to the pocket. I feel your music is from the heart. Thanks again for stopping by. PEACE. T576 OUT.
Simple in the sense there's one main chord progression and one melody, but you have loads going on and the beat is strong in this one. Intro is a tad long but worth it.
Great job!
Almost on the way.
I have one or maybe two songs i really wanna finish. Therefor i "only" have to produce the vocals.
And there are aight or so i just mix in a kind of a
mega instrumental jumping genre mix
Great track. Also clearly an excellent acapella, but you definitely made the best of it.
Only 2 little niggles:
- your track is so smooth that the snare rapid pure from around 1:50 sounds very harsh. See if you find some else there?
- the ending is cut off? Maybe generate again?
Yeah, opened up with this at a show with Killah Priest from Wu Tang. My dude Imprint did the beat and 2nd verse. I produced everything else including the party for my birthday with Priest and some cats from Chicago. I'll be uploading some Wu-Tang that's previously unreleased in the near future. Keep your ears open.
Hey buddy, first of all sorry to hear about your health - it's our most precious possession and you only notice when you lose it. A bit like music, in that respect.
Cinematic sounds good as a category although I always think that kind of categorisation is silly in itself. The best music is often that which transcends categories.
Your track is really good, with loads of lovely interesting surprises and little details that you clearly worked on for a long time. Great stuff!
Hello
First of all I would like to thank you for the kind words.
And of course you are 100% right when you say that all this genre talk is silly. The whole thing was more like an inside joke. Because, as many here know, I'm not a fan of genres in any form. And I'm usually completely wrong when I try to name genres :)
As for the song - Of course you're right, I put quite a bit of time into it.
It's been a long, long, long time, the first song I've finished. Although I started endless songs, I didn't have the strength or the will to finish anything.
That's why I have the feeling that I've more or less drawn a line with this song and now something new is beginning.
Some people who know me will probably already think that this song doesn't quite fit the "old" Joe Cramer.
I like this a lot. It's really well made, great 80s/90s vibe (Depeche Mode meets techno) and kept my interest throughout. It's long, but totally worth it.
Great job!
Awesome, so glad you like it, thank you BaoBou! That's an astute observation, those were exactly my influences. NIN, Depeche etc. I wanted to give us the raw and visceral side of retro music!

That guy's is a pro and it's pretty amazing. It's also not how I write songs anymore, so it wouldn't fit my current tracks anymore but holy smoke it's fun.
I might do another one tonight :) (that's UK time)
Yeah the "blank canvas" is what's most fun to me but also the hardest to make work for an audience. Now that I'm slowly getting more confident performing I might give it another go. Maybe on a secret side channel :D
From the title I expected a soul song, but this is not Diana Ross or Sam Smith ;)
It's really interesting though, great use of the booming bass... vocal? or is it a synth? It's very good, and I love the mix and how you put all kind of little details in the background, loud enough so you notice them but not so loud they're distracting.
Great job, so many interesting tracks this morning!
Yeah, metal!! \m/
The piano loop works well and the spoken vocals give it a great vibe; and then with the dubstep you make it something new again. For the final part from 2:17 maybe you can introduce again a new element so it feels more like a climax?
Good job!
Ah Quentin, mon ami, t'as surpasse toi-meme! It's all smooth as silk, your vocals fit perfectly and the arc of the track is magnifique.
Ca me plait beaucoup!
