Jzzzzzzus. that sounded FAAARRREEAKY. k i'm here to hear how you tease of things to come. wow it is amazing how music sounds different from day to day. this is totally freakin me out right now man. i have no idea what's going on.

It's a strange composition - what may sound beautiful one day, may in turn sound rather toxic on another. Such is Nature reflected in Art.

But you see what I mean about introductions? This is an odd one, as it wanders initially, but still forecasts some of what's to come. The other point to pay attention to (I think anyway) is something the didgeridoo does fairly early in the song - a sort of rising howl - this is repeated when the song closes. This and the intro are things I've taken from writing and applied to this piece. I still have reservations, but think that it works.

808er - you should check out ozone from izotope. the mastering sounds nearly there - but hear this - this is like a new unique sorta cinematic style that i haven't quite heard - it's all you man!! And I really feel this in the theatre, during a very gett money sh sorta scene. Rainy city during the day. People screamin... gettin shot and sh!! Cool work man, keep on with this kinda stuff, you'll do well!!

I do like it. Super groovy sh. I would - oh sh. There is the sh i was about to ask for. well still - oh sh. i keep wanting to ask for a kick, but then you bring in a bunch a stuff that sort of satisfies that. Still, I think this whole thing could really be wrapped up nice with a single thudding kick going throughout. Wild sh man!! Keep on.

Damn this is holidays. It's all those dark shiny colors of christmas bows and paper - the dark reds, greens, blues, purples. The synths sound that way to me, anyway. I am really feeling ya with the holiday thing! It really fits.

What I would do since I feel holiday in it and don't know that that would necesarilly translate for everyone, I would add just a lil holiday element, like a jingly chime or a clichet sleighbell even. That would actually be kinda cool.

Good work man!! Dig this.

lol i love the thing about the whistle that's funny sh i know exactly who you're talking about. i got it on film and sh, too. that sh was real.

this actually sounds kinda perfect now. i need to follow up on reviews, cuz sometimes things sound greater than what i actually said, and i'm glad i have no memory as to which tracks I've heard so that I come in, click play, eeew that's a good one - oh look I heard it, i reviewed ... what am i saying? expand the mix a bit. the only way to expand this would be to throw it right out the window. it sounds perfect.

Jeez Sean. Now that I know you a little better .... just, your "presence to me in my world" is just a brilliant one. And that really adds a whole new depth to your music. To be honest, I feel like I wouldn't even be able to say the words that could express the depth to which I feel this is sophisticated, timeless, omnitime, roots, ancestry, fresh, current, evolution, knowledge, history, chill, ambient, surrounding, delightful.

Ken - I've indicated that this medium is quite new to me - starting experimentation in April/May of `09. One of the major insights I've had has been in my own connection/interface to musical production. I've always 'felt' that instruments dictate what is played on them. Not so much the traditional means of playing, but what the sounds invoke. I pluck and bend strings on my mandolin in more of a blues approach and never do the tremolo strum thing. In this digital enviroment, I'm finding the same thing to be true for me. Certain sounds (samples) dictate the approach and in turn the composition. This is true whether using only samples or a combination of live recordings of 'analog' instruments. DJ4Real's "Light Saber" loops for me sonically resulted in this song. Finding the other samples to support them was the real challenge, and the rest was tweaking everything to make it work. For example, the vocals have been transposed and are at a subsequently lower register than the original samples. I think it's why this and other songs I've made 'work' - it's really not that different in approach to what I've always done - it's just now my fellow musicians exist in their samples, and I'm playing all my electronic devices as a single complex instrument. Systems approach, maybe? Cheers for the lovely review, friend!

And then you can take the sentiment from tragic to joyful as the bye bye bye, the part where you actually realize which way you're going, at first implies that it might be hell, but by the 2nd or 3rd round of the chorus, it's more joyful, and without ever saying it directly, the listener can feel that you (and the listener in a way) have gone to heaven.

k - here's an idea off the top of my head. since that has bye in it, make a play on words, have the lyrics be regae as well, playing between "hello" and "heaven" and "hell", he he hell he hell he he he heaven he he ..... THUS!!! .... you have a song about dying, and wondering which way you're gonna go.

Gorgeous, touching, fresh, futuristic intro. This is .... yes, I wanted to say 2080, and when the bass came in, I easily could. Great work, my friend. This is one of those sentimental feeling songs, with emotion, but not too sentimental, just enough to make you easily know that you want to hear it again sometime. Really cool work, I'm officially a fan of you. This is cool.

Ah!!!! I love descrips like that. Lol. This is good stuff man, it kinda feels more technically organized than - well wait what am I saying? ants are like instinctively organized by like smells and dancings - no, that's bees - but yeh this exudes a sophistication of being and circumstance way above the ant. This is like the Matrix's architects younger, cooler brother playing this while he prepares a new energy budget analysis for the meyer of machine city. Cool work bud. Cheers.

Love the layered sounds - that is fkn grrrreat. I know?!!?!?! why no pop!! it's weird. this is really cool man. again, reminds of a track i have done at some time or another, it was a while ago. And this is definitely much more radio-flavor ready. This is ready to go if it had some vocals with it, then it could play on the radio today. Great work man.

I didn't think I'd ever heard this, but it sounds sweetly stirring that I must have heard this way back when I first joined, b/c I remember that descrip and I think I remember this wonderful moving feeling - like I see just 10a, bright day outside, sunny apt, uk. I'm probably way off. I better go reread the description.

wow really really really really really cool concept, seriously, to chronicle the events of the time in song. so very moving. kind of the coolest concept I've ever heard, actually. way to go Shan. I'm quite amazed.

There's something amazing about youth and music. Dude when you were 12? Wow. This is really really cool. I love the melodies and omg you are talented those strings that come in are amazing and perfect. If anything, the phasing on the synth kinda lends to a muddleness as everything plays together, but apart from that, this is a solid track that deserves to continue evolution b/c it could a very affective, moving and epic song way beyond genre, but in the soul. Great work!!

I LOVE looking through your track list!!! With no one else's track list have I ever felt like each title is just it's whole own universe of fresh, glossy rooted all the way back to the start and with it's paws in tomorrow, all wrapped up and propriately labeled, ready for consumption. this is exactly like an idea i was thinking about earlier today that i might do for my next "epic" thing. like i was reading a bit in a book on mythology, and was thinking how interesting that these stories that were written 1000-3000 years ago written way back then are still received today, and how far technology has come, and how we here on this site kind of create a universe of perception in our tracks, and where the technology will be quickly - able to create entirely absorbing multimedia experiences and share them across the web, got your cool holo helmet or whatever - and just the possibilities ...... of course, that one day, you wake up, and all your life was virtual and you were growing in some dude's bathtub while he harvested you for teeth and organs. eeew. Lovely universe around me now man. i love this track. so not budging in texture and sticky grit, but still cool and smooth as it glides up past me rough. lovely.

This collection is actually an self-conscious examination of my own mythology and symbolic system, so you've nailed that one on the head! For my next 'epic' work, I'd like to identify and articulate the archetypes that have arisen in the last 30 years but are still invisible on the conscious level. To do this, it seems that first it's important to understand my own means of apprehension. Hence the "Totems from the Diaspora," as the prequel to what's coming. I'm convinced by thoughtfully examining history (and nonHistory) we can thwart any nightmare futures - but it does take effort and personal responsibility. Art has always been the premonitions or forecasts of what might come. It sure gives a different sense of the responsibility of dreaming, doesn't it. Thanks for the fabulous review, friend!

i wish i knew what HFBWL. i can't figure it out. maybe it is what it is. or what google just said it was. this is cool. it kinda is in the fuzzy line between neofuturistic and modern slightly futuristic transish hip hop sounds. the acapella is crazy insane, and you real melded all around it well. i would say if anything, carve a couple more slices of the spectrum out of either entity, the acapella or the music, so there is just a tinge bit more room and maybe a micron of space between them. but then again, this super complete meld does sound reallly really good. great work

it sounds like pac's disfunction is pretty consistent and cyclic - i think it might be chronic depression. i mean he sounds like he probably doesn't even look like himself. like his top half is flipped upside down and juxtaposed adjacently to his lower jaw. fkn yellow ball. jeez. pacman. dotbot. bitwit. yeh, your trippy a$$ pacman visual >< audio cross referencing thing just pulled the square blocks through the triangle slots in my mind. i can't say it wasn't fun, i actually like that kinda thing A LOT.
