The rhythm of the gating synth with the change in the beat is so subtely yet soooo effectively exciting. I lovvvvvvve this. I love how it keeps you cool and then every 4th measure or whatnot the finest of crafted detail gets me just a tick above where I was and I feel good excited and motivated and cool.
What a crazy good song for all it's subtely and for what it does to me. I love it.
I'm off to check out another. If it's good, you're in trouble.
your music makes me want to be a better musician. im so glad you came over to have a listen to my work. now im off to go make something that will make you...proud.
;)
"it". "mojo"
muchas gracias compañero. Me gusta producir musica y escuchar musica, y si algun dia llego a tu nivel estaràmuy orgulloso. Gracias por tus animos, un placer hablar contigo. Cause i'd like practise my english too.Saludos!!
What a treat. Cuz like I listened to the instrumental for this about 4 or so days ago and was so impressed by it. Sincerely.
AND NOW THIS.
Bro you write the music and sing the melodies that enhance anything they grace. I'm serious. You are going to bring so much light to spaces all over the place, and you'll never even know about most it.
Love when it goes to the acoustic part. Should do that again, it was sweet.
I'm so newly impressed by you. I hope you come back one day.
Deepest regrets if I never get to talk with you again - I hope all is well. Lighten up huh? Ok. Eat ya fkn fish.
you had me at "even hoes have opinions" ... dude the texture of this slow moving fog going around is so smooth. Nice drum work too.
Egggghhhhh this song just laid down at your feet crying saying 808ER tie me up with sidechains all night. Hopefully your DAW will do that, cuz ..... man. Just slight - oh sh. That'd be sooooo hot.
Dude so this has some cool potential - 1st thought was that there is too much fx on the vocals. With the part that repeats for the first minute or so, what fades in sounding nice, but it would have been nice to have more variation in the repeating part before ... those lovely strings came in. That is nice, but still the bzzzemp bzzemp sound needs some occasional switch ups in it's groove. For example, open the song up in audition or audacity - any wave editor, and like take beat of the 4 beat measures and reverse it. With a couple tweaks like that - as well as perhaps taking some of the reverb off of the vocals - you've got an excellent start and I truly - and this is coming from the guy who wrote the lyrics and the song - I truly feel that you've got the raw elements that perfectly match the sentiment and feelings behind the song.
Try this for awesomeness - the bass thing you have going on - put the FL Love Filter on that - it will be crazy great. Cheers! Thanks for the cool words about Mike's vocals too. He liked hearing that.
Hey Man! Glad to hear you got to listen to this one!
I was curious to see how Michael and you the creator of the original found this.
Thanks for your suggestions and tricks! I will be checking them out and reworking this track a little.
Thanks for your feedback! I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed it and that I managed to create the feel of the song without even hearing the original track before making it! :) Very cool! Thanks for your review and will let you know when I've done more to it! Take care and have a good evening! Also thanks for the fave too by the way!
I saw the descrip and had to jump in cuz that is exactly why i started singing at all. so that got me in the door. love the bass and the choice of the guitar sound, niccccce texture and dimensions they create.
i like the vox. turn it up!! it's too just below the surface of the water, bring it up and make it legible. i hope that makes sense!!!
Yeah I know its too low, but man I don't feel that confident in my singing skills to put it out loud... :) I will play with it tho and hopefully I can do something so it sounds better, thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it!
All the best
aw man. we are on the same level in the ableton house. luuuuvvvv ableton, and you are using it all the right ways man. this is soooooo far out exotic that it makes you feel travelled for having heard it. nice nice work man. sorry your rec d didn't turn out to x2, but hey they flew ya out and sh, i bet that was way fun. cheers man, make more like dis!!!! it was sweeeeet.
Meow meow. purr purr. nice fade in with the kick. ew this is a trippy trip!! i feel like a film is starting up and you are standing behind the projector, YES you do make the rules!! ha! this is fun.
interesting environment here! i don't know about being an ashtray, but I would certainly smoke one with ya and put it out on someone else who might enjoy it.
y'know, the original project was lost with my last portable HD.... but the short mp3 is still on here so maybe the project will gain new life one of these days..... LOL@ "to boldly stone where no man was stoned before" That is pure awesome dude!
It's such an odd feeling to connect with someone's music like it feels like something you would have done / could have done.
What I see as being able to improve with it is that it is very long, a very varied. Which is exactly what I like to do. However at a couple points, it was #1 - certain parts are still good, but not as quintessentially so as other, so you need to make sure you carry that rock star axe (guitar, synth, not specific) and wave it around in those rooms, do something that paints dirty synth trails in the air like those ipod commercials.
Led Zeppelin's Dazed and Confused live on acid. That sort of thing.
Thank you Ken. I always smile before I read your comments. :)
I understand what you are saying, but in all honesty, the things I upload to the net are basically my "audio scratch pads". I have about seven songs, and hundreds of these. (come on... you dont really share your good stuff do you? this place gets "ripped off" more than mini marts)
I like to see what people comment on. What sounds they like. After repeated listenings...what I like etc. etc.
Then I take the best of the best and you will hear direct influence (ahem, copy) of my "good parts".
Believe it or not, I do not "switch it up" this much in my (what I like to call) "real tracks".
(they are in that folder you are so dying to get into ;)
I do not like to make them that long either.
Synths (as I think you can tell) are something I am just learning. Teach me some of your secrets.
:)
Very fresh and textury and so the kind of thing i would love to hear while driving around the city on a Saturday, early in the day. Fresh, full of potential and compelling...
fk yeh I'll bounce to this. bounce bounce bounce. i am bouncing right now, thinking of you. heh I was putting together an album cover the other day, and believe it or not you end up on the back of the liner with the coolest review i've ever gotten by your obviously gorgeous avatar. and i'm gettin wrecked to yours right now, and i'll tell ya - keep on it for sure - cuz this is better than i was at your point. and i know exactly where you are. keep. it. up. you are closer than you know.
don't worry - i would never ever ever use your image without your permission, this was for the prelim idea thing in my head. if it came down to using that, i will hit you up for sure.
you are too beautiful and that was too cool a comment to not have it go wherever that song goes.
thanks for your review Califken ive been in a forced exile for a month (Deserved)i was naughty and you can use anything i put on looperman for what ever you want.
that was my cryptic and perspectively-convoluted way of saying i would love for you to do your thing on something I make for you, or for you to throw me something to work with. :D
ah thats what i thought but then i thought u were on about some1 called flavor.....like i said boggled,anyways..my email on my homepage so yeh send me somthin,or just send me a message and il send u an acapella or 2,,,peees
i love this. you are very laid back aren't ya. ew i like you. damn. this feeling right now is like wanting to have a new toy. cuz like of course you know from me to you on this site that flavor ... yep, he wants to collab with you. what? you really gonna collab with him MAL? but your music is already frkn amazing. Yeh but what we just thought it'd be nice if what will be is.
Eeeeeeewwwwww!!!!!!! Loving that shuffling ... .oh my god!!! that was sweet!!!!!!! you really are a master of the material world of sound. you've got your fingers in every grain of sound, and are just throwing it all around with the greatest of creative art and expression like a sandstorm of emotion that compells attention and once it gets it it just makes it feel good to be there. this is an amazing bordering epic piece, it feels a little too chill to be as dramatic as epic might imply. This is the breezing blizzard after the war as losses and feelings are realized. amazing work.
wow wow wow. love when the bass comes back in. amazinzzzzzzzing. ahhhhh.... i love your rhythyms. ggrrrreat.
K this is nearly too existential - as in like I am too much where you just put me right now!! I am in an alley or a canal in the city. There are good things, but there is also some kind of brooding mischief, and a heart monitor that won't let me relax. Yes possess me!!! Wait you already did.
Dude this is really neat. I haven't heard anything quite like it before. I love the rhythym of the textures, it's like they are just anticipatable enough so that I can reach out and touch it and feel them all.
OMGGGGGGGGOD. WAYNE. fk yes. this is so you my man and like so enjoyable. totally blew me away this evening, LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE This.
We need to do a video. cam yourself at the store for me, just like 5 seconds. it's all we'll need to do a psychadelic emotional montage that will reflect the gold of the song.
seriously. that was so off-beat, pleasant, casual, jam and cool. big cheers W. kc
ew shiiiiiiiTTT. that is cool. i swear I tried to make this exact track tonight and couldn't get to it. glad to see my man D was on it. Seriously the strings sweeeet. then the beat. sweet. loved, fav, dl. cheers
Brother man - seriously. We have the same blood. I like this and again am very impressed and connected with your tunes. Here is how I have come to handle the whole objectivity creative fatigue fresh ears thing. I work on something, saving several incremental versions. And as soon as I feel the slightest twinge of it not being really totally cool and exciting anymore, I move on to something else. Because right AT THAT MOMENT, when I come back to it later, it is often AWESOME and had I not dropped and saved it and put it down right then, I would have mucked it up in my headplace of inobjectivity. I hope that makes sense. for this one suggestion - You just need to put more D#&$ in the groove. Really cool stuff C. We exude the same grooves, you just need to let yours out a bit more - more variation - makes this a solid classic of the future bro. Cheers - kc
You know I take everything you say to heart, but I must say one thing, much of the reporepotitiionionnononnnnn in my songs is intentional. Much of hip hop was founded in beat patterns just replayed and replayed. I try and emulate that as much as possible. Everything else though, it is amazing how two can have so much in common.
