Wasn't quite sure about the opening synth, but as the track goes on, it really does get great. Lovin all the little sounds here and there. Great track, honestly, I'd cut out the intro-ing synth tho. It is a flavor that for me was definitely not indicative of the rest of the track.
Wow it has slowed down a bit, that is interesting. I think my heart is beating with the music. I wonder what the BPM is... Interesting bits of the beat that you are reeling back in. Nice orchestral sounding synths, THIS TRACK is really cool. It's got a lot of solid, faceted and intricately handsome parts.
Sorry about the delay (school stuff). Yeah, I hear ya. The intro synths were done to give this the feel of the sun beating down on your back (with the visible heat rising off of the surface near the horizon line). Which is where the name comes from. When the bass comes in the song becomes internal so I agree that they do contrast each other (almost anti). The pads near the end mark the bridge where they should fuse together (maybe I'll need to go back n add some effects on the intro synth bits to soften them up a tad). Glad ya dug it. Later on!
yeh cheers bud, ableton rocks, though fl studio has some great applications and sound creation tools, ive not really got into it coz ive learnt using logic, nuendo, ableton and reason, i spend a year on each programme and then decide which 3 main ones im going to concernatrate on, what with the rewire protacol i think you can cover most angles using 3 main DAWS, next year im going to get into flstudio, but i dont like the arrangement facilities, though i might be missing the point or no how to use it properly , maybe ile find out next year when i really pop the lid on it and get to the bottom of it, but asa rewire i think it could be one of the 3 because of the great sound creation it brings and hearing the results users such as ureself have shown me you can get a good track that sounds professional, i dont listen to these ignorant fools that pass it off asa toy, as those peeps are the ones that dont even scratch the surface of the programmes and blame it on their tools as ive found on each of the programmes theres something that u can use to enhance your productions in all of them, who says you have to only use 1 or 2 apps to make a track, steinburg arent going to give you a gold star if you only swear by using cubase and you stay loyal to them are they?!?
how about the "RealStrat vs FL Slayer vs An Actual Guitar" kinda track. like start it with guitar, send it over, i'll transition into the plugins, i'll send it back, you transition and finish with guitar. what do ya think?
WOW dude - that was HOT . Dude assignment: redo that Yeah Yeah Yeah's track I redid, on your guitar. ;) Cheers!! WAIT:: Let me revise that - I don't want to assume that you want to "redo" anyone's song. So I take it back, what I was really thinking was how much I want to collab on something with ya, maybe the guitar thing - like I would love to do a "RealStrat vs FL Slayer vs An Actual Guitar" kinda track. What do you think?
Im sure I could redo the Yeah yeah Yeah's cover, but why. Those guys already recorded it and they did it proper like. Im not a fan of playing covers. I enjoy writting my own songs too much. But I wouldnt mind doing a track with you. Just not a cover song.
This is one of those times when I wish I didn't have to step away from the site due to being busy. I would've really loved to be able to hear what ya did for this. Alas, when I clicked the link in the other review it was no longer good (which is why I took it down). At any rate I'm glad that you were able to do something with this. Later on!
LLLOOOVVVVE that sound - tho I was expecting gnomes, and this doesn't sound like gnomes to me. definitely gnome factory, but the gnomes are gone, and little rifts that lead to the future are ripping open in the factory, and digital worker ghosts have taken over the factory and they are building you a studio, my friend. awesome work, fav'ing. like this a lot.
CalifKen - so glad you dig it! I love the image of "digital worker ghosts" from the future building me a sonic studio. I hadn't considered that it was a factory building garden gnomes at all - isn't that weird? The gnome in the title is from my own metaphorical totem reference scheme - a way of keeping track of "those damn things" that pop up across cultures and vary with every cultural lens. My great-grandmother used to tell me stories about the brownies at her grandmother's home and how they fed it burned porridge. My best friend from Niger told me a similar story and I've got my own ideas about the real non-variable in the quantum model - so there you go. My Gnomes are probably closer to your future digital worker ghosts than the ceramic kind. "Gnomes in the Totem schemata of n0mad23". Thanks for faving it!
I like what you've done friend! Great work. Love the drums in here too. Hey when I tagged my mp3's it took the artist as kej on a couple i think b/c i had the title in as kej-somethin, and i used kej- because they came out of a fl studio project file of mine that began with those letters so i figured it was a logical way to group them. so yeh kej not my name - califken works. thanks for pinging me about this awesome track, favd!
THis is beautiful. I think I saw your profile on talentrove, so I knew I was in for something special, and I must say you did not disappoint. Listening to this with your description in mind creates just layers and facets of beauty and comfort, and security. It makes me feel like I am at home with the tribe, this is what I hear and all is well on the tribe grounds. And everything is beautiful. If anything I would say the percussion almost puts a veil between the guitar and my ear, but it's still beautiful all the same. Excellent work, cheers.
Califken, Your kind review is very much appreciated. I apologize for the delayed response. This one is special to me and I am very happy you perceive the intended spirit of this piece. That alone inspires me. Thank you.

What I would put into this for danceability - some sort of high freq drum element, be it a snare, or something, to provide bounce points. Cuz I'm sittin here and I want to bounce to it, but I'm not sure when and where to bounce. Does that make sense?
Yes it does - thanks! I bet some of my African friends will grin, because this one actually has some of that rhythmic sensibility behind it. The secret is to follow one rhythm with your hips, one with your shoulders and arms, and the other with your head. When all else fails, close the blinds, remove all clothing, bite your lip and begin to gyrate. I'm going to give a high end beat a try and see if that makes it a bit more accessible. I was thinking maybe a high hat or maybe clacker sticks. Cheers.
This is amazing work. I am so sorry for the loss. This song is so powerful and emotional - I can't even express how deeply touching it is. Thank you so much, so much, for sharing this - I am so moved by it and will always remember it.
Thanks so much for your review.
Thank you for the gr8 loops which helped so much to make this track.
I like dance music with emotion-as Tomcraft said-"Happiness seems to be loneliness".
This song is obviously sad for me but I'm glad I could channel my emotions through the incredible medium of music.Thank you for listening and caring. It means a lot to me.Lofthouse.x
Lol, thank you! I'm honestly flattered! But please, I think BeatMasterDoubleR deserves more credit than me, as he made the music. But still, thank you for your kind words and reviews!
You're a vanguard master man. I'm frustrated the I can't do any automation with vanguard in FL. wow great way the synth is working with the beat here lovin it. Have you figured out how to get vanguard to automate in fl? Cool pitch changes. Great bass!@
Sure you can automate it's a bit more tricky tho. you tweak a parameter then go to upper left arrow.(the drop-down box)Then go to "last tweaked parameter" and automate it from there. But I didn't do pitch automation from vanguard its from the channel settings. Thanks for your review by the way :)
We need a genre on this site called Contemplative.
Trippy track tho bro! Was this track written while you were wishing somebody would pick up the damn phone? I've done the same sort of thing before. I also liked the flute.
this is lovely. very outside, fresh air, skies, all those wonderful things that raggae brings - spirit. Great work in a great genre - thanks for sharing!!
Ah it's been awhile since i've heard something like this, and this is even better. Love it. It's got sort of a futuristic twist on the vibe - awesome work man. Plus it's not often that I see so many favs and replays on a track - excellent work friend!! Nice to hear ya.
Thanks for the encouragement and the fave, my southern Leftcoast brother! I was recently told that my music's evolving in 2 simultaneous directions and I think your "futuristic twist on the vibe" validates this. I'm thinking the favs and replays are a good sign, too! I'm thinking I was tuned in to the right vibes when this one channeled through. Cheers.
Sounds like you gave those birds from pitch black some powers man, you weren't supposed to help them. This is awesome and trippy, ESPECIALLY towards the end. Dig.
Waitin for the dance to kick in , as Eshar says. Do like that soundfont too though. Cine, yes. Like ah blade runner? Here it comes --- nope not yet. While I anticipate, yeh I'll work on this track. Hook me up.
Eshar's review is funny. Where'd that part go? Is that whats on your soundclick? :) Trippy, futuristic-nostalgic sounds man.
Yeah, Eshar's comment was for Tides II (which is on soundclick).
As for this track, yeah Blade Runner was one of the things that came to mind when I was doin this (along with Star Gate, where the name kinda came from). And feel free to mix the Chilli outta this one. I can't wait to hear what ya do. Later on!
