hey hey,
first of all, hats off cuz I didnt see any more cinematic tracks here since last time I was here,
for a cinematic, it should be a part of something, you said, animation or something? right? its good for a part of an animation, it brought me to the world of dolls more than fairies xD, just kidding, but the way you made it is kinda more usefull for that reason, you used a bell that sounds like kid's music box, and thats cool, also, I will give you one of my key secrets (:) to help you complete that music, and that is to use female choirs, yes yes yes, they need female choirs to imagine fairies, its all about creating space
Kindest regards

Thanks LittleJay! Those are some good tips. The use of female choirs works great for cinematic songs. I placed two choirs in this track, but used them lightly. Maybe I'll add to it later.

Thanks for the kind words and for stopping by, much appreciated!

on Boxing Day Featuring Soleil Lune Rosseau by Ckilc1
Hey,
Good song my friend
its good to hear young collabs (btw Im not an oldman =D )
by the way
no one of us wants to hear appreciating words here :D we are looking for feedbacks right? so lets go on:
1.you could make it more country

2.lets be honest, the main mastering of song is kinda great, but the vocal line, nah. so you could improve the velocity of frequencies between 9000-13000, (hmm maybe with some changes) to improve female vocal

3.add reverb, a big room reverb with 15% volume to your vocal line, maybe 20% or more it depends on you! trust me it will make your music, seem bigger, right? ok :D

4.to the singer: its better to stay away from your microphone a bit, and sing louder sometimes, your singing method is kinda boring and repetitive

5. 2key notes for the singer, for this song: soften your voice for a breathy voice, smile when singing

6.well lets go back to you my friend :D, sometimes, pan your toms, like in 3:22, like one on left, and one on right

7.why dont you use an exicer? harmonic exicer is one of the key steps of mastering, use an exicer for make your vocal bright and shining, you can use wave's exicer or izotope exicer

8.one of the things that is really on my nerve in your music, and that is lack of compression, its not your fault, the singer is singing in low volume and you can't do anything, but, if she sings a bit more louder, you can compress your vocal line then vocal line's volume will be balanced

9.a huge idea about your drop in 3:05, add a radio vocal effect on. yes really, just like radio, for this action, kill the whole frequencies except between 500-8000, (maybe with some changes), and also add a bell line to the drop to complete this action

10.well adding a solo guitar line after the drop, is what rockstars know as well, i think you know what I'm talking about :D,

well, sorry for the long story xD, by the way, it was 10 tips to have a better "boxing day"
Kindest regards

Hey. good job thats kinda... an idealistic track, I'm a great fan of this types of music, and actually have a lot of idealistic projects, there aren't a lot of people who try to make musics like this, value yourself.

on let it go not that one by DJNVAKAMO
haha, nice track my friend, sad cuz I just see comments less than one line for this good track, it deserves more.
first of all the drum collection you used is usable in dub and this kinds of genres and ofcourse dnb and nice choice.
I'm a fan of playing with vocals, automate them and more that you used it like hell and its kinda amazing cuz more than 90 percent of dnb musics are boring and they're more usable in resturants haha,.
you did something new in and that's that FM bass working and I'm a super fan of this, to do something new, well you remind me when I was a newbie and a little kid in music, I was trying to mix new genres, so I had to learn about every single genre, my first genre mix was chillout and hiphop hahaha it game me the potential of making 5 new genres in the future haha.
the way you finished the song is called reverseschool here and you can realize why its called like that, but it could be better if you add a single chord in the end
however nice dnb and I listened it all, GJ.

on Bliss by YertBimberg
also there are always things that I forgot to say and I should write another comment, the reason that I insist on playing with panning, is that your track is kinda mysterious and confusing type, so it can make it more confusing and attractive if you just play with pannings (in a controlled way),
regards
.

YertBimberg replied 28th Jun 2016 - 9 years ago
Thanks so much for the feedback Littlejay. I really appreciate the time you took to be specific with your suggestions. Really usable... and I can definiteley work with panning and chop away at some of the conflicting frequencies you pointed out. Can't beat that kind of criticism. The kind you learn from.

Put me behind a kit and I'm comfortable... Composing and producing music in this way is new to me (9 months)is OUT of my comfort zone, but I am fascinated by the wide palette of choices available. So I'll keep at it.

on Bliss by YertBimberg
I'm not into this genres a lot but, lemme give you some feedbacks:
first of all I like the start on 0:27 or same 0:28 and the bottom guitar till end.
I really feel the lack of roll off, which gave me a headache, you have a lot of additional frequencies that should be deleted, some lines should be limited and compressed, second part of the music is boring a bit, some lead instruments could be added there.
I liked the minor chords in 2:25
well, its better to reduce the amount of frequencies which are more than 10000 for your bells, increase the amount of under 150Hz frequencies for your bass (it makes your bass line powerful and will separate it from other lines and reduces some of additional freq and sounds.) and then turn its volume down between 3 and 3.5 decibels

nothing is wrong with your toms, they're really mixed well,
that jing jing bells in 0:27 are making a bad additional sounds, my suggest is to roll off freqs betweem 3000 and 8000 and reduce them, then use a stereo shaper to make it stereo (it will separate them and makes the listener to feel that they're more near to the ears) then turn the volume down betweem 2.5 and 3 decibels

the synth which starts at 1:13 is completely panned to the right, it could be better if you make it mono or for example change its panning from right to left then left to right every 3 or 4 or 5 seconds, it would be great

you need a bridge in 2:06 or 2:07, and also in 2:24 or 2:25 or 2:26 ( you can easily use a reversed crash (cymbal) and stick it to a normal cymbal then use it as a bridge for your changing times)

the panning of the female "ah ah" (or whatever :D) sound could be changed every 2 or 3 or etc seconds (your choice).

know this there is always room for improvement, your track is good enough itself and doesn't need to be changed, but thats just a room for improvement. there are more tips for this track but it will be boring if I write more xD so lets save them for the next tracks :D,
regards.

well goodjob, for me its a large intro for a trap but its ok cuz I think you wanna make it oldschool a bit so thats ok and amazing, also one positive side is that your track is not boring and it has some attractive parts and bridges. goodjob.

on Everything Where It Should Be by StaticNomad
goodjob. this types of musics are usable in video games or minigames, loved that trumpet or whatever it is, its more a nostalgic track for me which reminds me the "pink panther" game in PS1 hahahaha.
StaticNomad
StaticNomad replied 20th Jun 2016 - 9 years ago
Hi.

Sure, I guess this could be used in computer games. However, I'd rather people just listened to it on its own as a piece of music, rather than as background sound while they're tapping their fingers away at a controller.

"trumpet or whatever it is"

It's a saxophone.

"pink panther" game in PS1"

I know the famous soundtrack to the Pink Panther films but not that game. I don't play computer games.
