i never really set out to make trance but once in a great while I make a lighter track, i usually make heavy beats but i do have a soft and Jazzy, spacey side as well.

holy ass your voice is great!!! it goes really well with the synths as well! only advice i could give would be a little more reverb on the strings but thats not even that important. youve got some major talent! ive seen people win american idol who are not as good as you!!

Thanks a lot, Lorin. I always feel sort of ashamed when peple are asking which loop is mine or what's that :)

I'm not that good at making loops unfortunately!
The basic loop (which is fantastic on its own) has been downloaded from looperman a while ago - I wasn't sure what I could do with that. So my part here was to 'frame' it nicely - and it worked finally.

Thanks a lot again, great you've liked it!

i love a lot of things in this track! i also love a lot of things in genral, but that does not detract from the overall awesomeness of this track :) I like the ambience that is created, the reverb you used on the vocal samples, the drums you used, the slow attack synths and the chimey layers on the pads! it all comes together really well, and the guitar/bass sound is a lot like some of Tools stuff! Great work, keep it up! check out my tracks sometime? -Lorin xD

lovin it! great chord prog on the piano, combined with a solid beat! Just a tip, could you upload this with a higher bitrate? The bass sounds a bit distorted when its played, and i think its beacuse you have like 128 instead of 160+. I know cause the same thing happened to me!! anyways nice work keep it up! -Lorin xD

danster replied Unknown
Lorin think I sussed how to upload at a higher bit rate. I'll edit the track when I get a sec & re-ipload, I just can't seem to stop creating right now!!!

personally i think that the most important part about recording guitar is the quality of the sound! and you have difinatly focused on that, and perfected it! I love it, classic rock chords and progressions, executed well, with a good guitar and possible preamp, all combine for an awesome track!

Hello Lorin,

I appreciate your stopping by and listening/reviewing this tune. I use Pro Tools 8.0. With all the tools it has available, I am able to get the sounds I hear in my head.
I also Master every song before I release it as well.
I usually use recorded live drums from www.betamonkeymusic.com

Most all my latest songs have a bigger sound to them and 'feel good' according to the many nice reviews I keep getting.

It's not a matter of playing just one guitar in a track, you have to make layers of sound....like record the same rhythm track twice...once panned hard left, and then record again panned hard right.

You can't just copy-n-paste from one track to another as it won't work.

Anyways, that's how I make music. Partly from loops, and partly from my own playing.
I have the firewire Mbox2 Pro and use an external drive for audio only, and a DEll XPS laptop.

So anyways, I thank you again and I will review some of your material as well and give a review back. Thanks!

on Intensive charming by SLAPJOHNSON
Well, browsing the many artists on this site, A live sax section with brass was not something I was expecting! I can tell your a man of perfectionism, and obviously took some time over this song! and the flute solo was awesome! I have to say though, I was waiting for the drums to break into a powerful beat, accompnaied by the horns. But hey, suprise is the name of the game right? You are an upholder of the fundementals of music and dont let anyone else tell you otherwise!
SLAPJOHNSON
SLAPJOHNSON replied Unknown
Hi Lorin, thanks for your kind words. Point taken about the drums! I could have seriously built that kit up. Maybe time permitting I will revise the drums...

Cheers Slap...

This song is insane! the sequencing is crazy at the beginning. But then the beat come in its awesome! lol I like the singing as well, where did u get the vocals?
Littbarski
Littbarski replied Unknown
thank for the review, well to do the vocals i have use two feature at first you have to search on the web some voice sample player then you download the voice sample and at last you manipulate the voices with the timestretch effect that usually you find in any voices software! i hope that the explanation is clear!
Cheers

on Electro Funk (Demo) by Krook
I really enjoyed this track! Were the synths a loop or did you make them yourself? It has a nice high-energy feel, I think this would have to be my prefered track of yours! There was a nice ammount of bass as well, which is always great! Maybe you could keep making tracks like this? i like it! Especially after 3.10 when the second beat kicks in!

Hi Lorin
Thankyou for dropping by and reviewing my tracks.
All my tracks are just made up of loops at this point in time, I have just bought the Sylenth1 synth and will be trying to play that a bit and incorporate it in to some of my tracks. Its all just a big experiment for me at the moment but I luv making music wish I had started years ago!!
I will check your tunes out and catch up with you soon.
Regards

The echoey intro waasnt really my cup of tea, but when the beat came in it was all good :) I dont personally like house that much, but the sequences you used were great, especially the momosynth towards the beginning, and I liked the build-up towards the 3 minuite mark!

Well nice intro, whats the instrument which ossicilates at the beginning? it sort of sounds like a flut or pipes or something. I would have to say the intro is a nice length, nice sequenced synths as well.
Well, having listened to your tracks I have to say you are pretty talented!! but what I was thinking was, have you ever considered making a Trance or Dance track? I dunno, i could just imagine your style in a trance track to be a good combination! I'll keep an eye on your music!
Tiltedbeats
Tiltedbeats replied Unknown
a flute it is my friend!

i don't really like trance music! i much prefer a rolling beat than a 4/4. it's just me, i haven't really listened to much trance!

i love making breaks though!
