hey man, know what ur sayin but i guess i left it too long n now im used to the way it is lol. maybe ill come back to it some time n throw one in.
take it easy.
I like this. I have also been pondering how to slow down my drum bpm's while keeping the rhythym at double speed (i.e., drums at 45bpm and keys at 90). HOW DO YOU DO THIS!? I cannot figure the process out. I have Reason 4.0 and FL Studio Edition. Can you help? Nice jam man.
I started out with Cakewalk 2003 and messed with that and only samples for 2 years. I then moved on to FL, and that was confusing as hell, until one day I just said 'screw it' and decided to not actually try to make a perfect or good beat. I decided it would be okay to mess up and get 'lost' in the program and that was how I learned A LOT. What I'm saying is, allow yourself time to make mistakes and learn from them as you move forward. I made 100's of lousy 'throw-away' beats, and STILL do! I have Reason 4.0 now, and you'll find that once you become proficient in, or on, one platform, the basics are always present in the other platforms. Keep at it and soon enough you'll switch easily between software programs. PEACE.
You know what? I never looked at it like that. I've had so many beats before that i think were pretty good and i never got through with them bcause of that reason. I was trying to make them perfect so i would stop and move on to another one. I had about 40 beats no one ever heard bcause my pc crashed and i never finished them. I'm doing the same thing right now I got about 20 that i started and none are nearly completed. On top of that im not learning anything new about the program. that makes a lot of since.... I appreciate that.
Other than the bass being a little too heavy (in my opinion), I thought this was a damn good DnB track. Boy, I wish to God I could figure out how you guys do these!? Lots of talent! PEACE.
The only real trick I have is the reece bass: it consists of 3 Malstrom synths, saw wave with the oscillators tuned about 35 cents from the root key in a combinator (working in reason), run into distortion (scream 4) and phaser effects. After I record some midi, I duplicate the combinator putting this one through a Low pass with the low end really juiced up. Other then that, just tweaking and playing. Thanks for listening
Phasturbo thanks for the stop by. I will take a peek around everyones stuff at some point, so keep an eye out for a review your way, if u have any tracks that is :)
That IS Aretha Franklin, isn't it? What song is that sample from? Did you add the drums or are they part of the sample? What hardware/software did you use? Nice work.
i used only separate parts of acapella aretha
