Thanks Rico. Agreed: ferryterry did a great job on guitars. He played 2 choruses then you can hear my el. piano improv also for 2 choruses and onece again the guitars. I was thinking if I can find someone to play over the last part which seems lack the solo but probably I leave the composition at this point for now.
Thanks for listening and some nice words. It is appreciated. Alex
Hey man cool track, I would probably throw a limiter on it and raise the master volume a touch so the whole thing could be louder, overall great track though!
Hey man, i would definitely say that this is future bass. I really liked the pad work and melody you have before the drops. The only thing is that I think that the bass during the drop could be mixed in better because it feels like its wayyy on top of everything and not locked in tight with the chords and drums behind it. I loved the release the bass shot before the drop, it made me chuckle. Overall good track!
Keep up the good work!
Rico L.
Great classic dubstep! I think it could use some better mixing as there is some random parts where the sound cuts out, and the drums have a little too much high on them. But good hard drop! I liked this track!
Hey man, loving the ambient vibes from this piece. Some of the melodies could be changed and altered to make them more tasteful. As well as making a change to the box robo voice in the background because it does not really fit in with the whole "nature" vibe of the track.
Really weird track but hey keep being you!
Rico L.
Hey thanks for the listening Rico...yeah I kind of like making weird and unique tracks. That kind of explains the robo voice in the background. Besides the robo voice and ambient synth the instruments are live so a can't do to much changing there. Thanks for the comments! Dan B-)
Hey I really like the idea here, I just feel like if it had a more static( like if you focused on one note more and gave it a crazy rhythm) melody it could be so much better of a track. The lead you are using really doesn't work well with multiple notes played quickly(its just a really muddy lead). Other than that, really creative, almost reminiscent of skillex's new stuff, great work!
hey man, really interesting track. I think if you took out the low piano key strokes (or is it just low strings, or maybe even a sub bass?) it could be less chaotic without losing its weird factor.
Love how epic this song is! Really powerful in all aspects: instrument choice, composition, and mix. Great work, really reminds me of something I would hear in Oblivion in the Elder Scrolls Series!
LOL i just visited your tack as well HAHA Thanks for dropping by i finished this track and will release it tomorrow to make up for me missing the NEW Years on this site rofl. Fun aside i hope you enjoy this track when it gets uploaded tomorrow :D take care
Hey FreeRadical,
I think that you and Joe should collab! You are quite the funky musician! If you both made a funk track and worked harmoniously, it would be great!
I guess it already is sort of a collab as the bassline was written by Mr F. I just had the job of "painting" round it and it was fun to do.
Cheers for dropping by Rico.

Hey, thank you for the listen and comment! I'm usually about 3 weeks behind in replying lately, but I felt this needed a response right away during lunch. I found it interesting that you mention chip tune, analog synths, and sylenth all in the same comment. All of those things are totally different things. Real chip tune is made from digital sound producing chips which were included in old school games and toys. Analog synths are solid state circuits built with creative sound possibilities in mind. Sylenth is a software synthesizer. I definitely did not use Sylenth, in fact mentioned in the description that all sounds in this track come from the "Breaking Blue" synth which I recently built. No VST synths were used. The synth is built from a combination of digital logic, solid state devices, and passive components - So really doesn't fall into any of the categories you mentioned. Chip tune would be the closest because of the logic involved, and of course the sound of the track. Didn't mean to write a book here, just wanted to clarify. Thank you very much for checking out the track!
loved the minimalistic intro, and the retro bass underneath(moog i believe?) I really like the old retro vibes on this track too. Great work, and keep making these classic techno tracks!
Hey man, I used to play guitar for a metal band and this is the perfect amount of melodic playing with thrash thrown in tastefully. The guitar work at 1:40 was great, really played off of that growling bass well. The wah pedal was used sparingly, which is so refreshing because I was getting tired of listening to guitarists wah their guitar parts to death and making them very unappealing. The choirs in the background of the song took it to the next level, making it epic and badass. All of your rhythm riffs were on par with James Hetfield's(Metallica). The break downs were all grungy and powerful to listen to. The part of the piece that impressed me the most was the guitar solo at 4:58; it sounded like I was listening to Slash from Gun's and Roses play, just incredible. Loved every second of this track man. Great work!
Do you have tabs to this? I would love to learn how to play this and jam along!
All the best,
Rico L.
Slash and Hetfield are definitely better than me but then I'm no professional and don't really play live so don't get the practice in. I also do a hell of a lot of cheating with my playing through edits of the best bits so I assure you I'm not this good in a live situation.
I find it hard to do perfect runs and takes but, with editing, I can make it sound like that's what I actually played all in one go.
"guitar work at 1:40". I think you must mean 0:40 as that's where the guitar first enters. Pretty simple playing there though a bit more complex for end of bar fills.
I use wah here and there though often as a tone control rather than all-out wah. I have mixed feelings about it and it does need to be used carefully. But it's on quite a few guitar parts in this, especially your favourite Slash section.
Choirs in the background? I thought I made them more foreground as I really like their melodies so I'm not trying to use them as backing elements to add depth but more like as lead singers. They definitely do make it all more epic and their inclusion was the catalyst for driving the track forward and taking it into the epic territory I knew it must go into.
Guitar at 4:58 is the shortish harmonic wah funk section. That's just me doing a harmonic chord across just a few frets (no fretting of the actual strings) in my regular slide blues DADFshrpAD tuning and then strumming funkily away whilst operating the wah. And then editing all the best bits together. That's the funk to go along with all the metal and chillout stuff.
Good to hear what was your favourite section - that always interests me as I sort of have my own though I try hard to make every bit as a good as every other (very difficult).
No, I certainly don't have tabs to this as I don't write them (or sheet music). No one's ever asked for that but it's cool that you do as it shows additional interest. If you really want, I can just tell you how to play some sections (ie some of the main notes involved) as that should be enough to jam along.
Thanks again for the interest and let me know if you want to know how to play some sections.
I love some good lounge chill out music and this one is definitely on the higher end of the spectrum. Mr. wolf kind of covered all the musical aspects of the songs, but i wanna talk about how the first two made me feel. Ground Basse was a funky minimalistic song that really made me feel like I was on the beach in the middle of the sand watching the waves roll up on the shore. The Blues made me feel like I was in a classic jazz or blues bar in New York City, with a lot of grungy people in a grungy place. You really took me on a trip here with the first two tracks man, great job!
