Yeah, i spent ages trying to do something a bit more with that last part but i just couldn't find anything to fit. I need to invest in some better VST's.
Thanks for dropping in and leaving comments. Comments make my day.

Hey buddy, pretty sweet mix you've done here! I'm a few minutes in, and I think the only thing I didn't like was that filter build at around 2:49... the resonance was really annoyingly overdone and squealing. OUCH! I dig the bass line around 4:00 though, it's deep and fun. "Jack it up?" yeah why not! That "donk" or "thunk" sort of bass later on is pretty fun too! I enjoyed listening very much aside from the reso build! Now I need a cigarette! (Not just because the song was long... wink wink nudge nudge) kidding.
Cheers for pointing that out. I busted my good headphones so i'm having to work with a real shit pair at the moment so i'll use that as an excuse but it shouldn't be to difficult to sort out the reso build.
Cheers for dropping by and playing the track.
Thanks. Pretty much the whole track is royalty free loops and one shots so yeah, i cheated but if people like it then that's all that counts to me.
Cheers for stopping by and listening.
FR
I use FL studio but i have an extensive library of loops so most of it is just cheating really. It's just a case of finding sounds that match up so it's more time consuming than actual talent. I do occasionally write stuff from scratch but i just love mixing different grooves together to see what happens.

Thanks, I didn't spend a great deal of time on it. I just wanted to do something that gets your head nodding. Hopefully it works.

I like the idea, though I do agree going back and fixing a few minor issues will make this already-great song sound even better. Keep up the good work, FreeRadical. I'm loving your music. Cheers!
I agree that the mixdown isn't the best. I had the dithering switched on when i converted it not realizing that dithering makes the track sound worse at the time. Took me ages to figure that one out but alas the file is gone so i can't work on it anymore. I only put the track back up as i was hoping peeps would go and check out Alans profile but thanks for stoping by and commenting.

This is a strange, ballsy mix of a few different genres.
Latin style piano, crashing breakbeats and loads of bitchin lead rock guitar work, with lots of little evil screams comin from that axe.
It's all pretty damn loud, hence the squished waveform, but maybe that's what you're going for. Still sounds like a pretty good mix.
1:44 breakdown I'd turn the lead widdling down there as it's interfering a bit with the backing variation. Not so much of a breakdown with that guitar still right upfront.
2:54 new busy synth bass is cool.
Around 3:57 guitar goes totally mental. Massive delay + high feedback level on it?
I think I would have preferred a few more guitar riffs rather than so much lead work but that's just my taste.
Mental track, shame about the stroke and here's to a full recovery! It he only partly recovers, maybe he'll just have to play a bit slower. So: 5,000 notes a second rather than 10,000.
Thanks for dropping in. This track was done before i realized that everything sounded better with the "dithering" switched off, which is why it's a bit harsh on the ears in places. I'd love to do it again as it was a fun track to make but alas the files are gone.
I posted it more for the sake of getting people to check out Alans stuff as he is far more talented than me.
Cheers for stopping by and commenting.
FR
Yeah he is still about but he said one of his arms isn't working too well so he can't really play at the moment. Hopefully he'll make a full recovery.
As for the track, I like the idea but i didn't mix it down very well (it's a bit to trebble saturated) I'd love to do it again some time.
Cheers for dropping by and commenting.

loved the minimalistic intro, and the retro bass underneath(moog i believe?) I really like the old retro vibes on this track too. Great work, and keep making these classic techno tracks!
I love how this builds, the percussion stabs and crashes are perfectly executed. The chord progression is very clever as well. Nice fade into bad boy and suddenly I'm back in 1991 on the dance floor at the Oak Beach Inn...how did that
happen??? Ahh a modulated DX7 sound...nice.
great nostalgic work as always my friend

I really enjoyed this one, FR! The riffs you created are great and the alien-ish sounds you used matches your profile pic lol. Did you do that on purpose or was that a coincidence? Anyways great work as usual and hope you continue the great work!
Hi FR, for sure you found some nice way to combine these loops again and this is an another very fine 'trancy' electro stuff from you. The first seems to have this nice minimal sound-image, I like how you build up the second one as well! Keep up the productions. Alex
Taat spot at 5 min in hits it big time just when I was wondering where it was going to head.......nice change up around 5:30....I seem to be listening to longer mixes tonight...I dont think I could do one this long without getting a hell of a lot more reperative...this one was a nice easy ride all the way....so what do I think....hell yeah...keep on doing it....Ed
Thanks Ed, I do often wonder if anyone actually bothers to listen to the whole track but i like to squeeze every last drop out of the ten minutes or so that we seem to be allocated. I think it's a lot easier to do when you make electronic stuff as most of it is just looping and layering.
As always thanks for swinging by and commenting on my stuff. I seem to be getting much more downloads than i get comments at the moment which makes it all the more special.
Cheers again!!

nothing adverse from me, its my sort of music...and Murray Head one night in Bangkok fits nicely towards the end, with that thumping beat, synth and vocal to finish....flows it does...thanks for another long but too short track again!
best wishes,
Mark
Thanks Mark. I didn't have one night in bangkok in mind when i did it but i guess it does sound a little like that. Glad you enjoyed the track and thanks for your kind words.
FR
What say me? I say the first four and a half minutes are very 80's new wave synthpop with a nice modern blend. I can almost hear vocals similar to Dale Bozzio, (Missing Persons) weaved in and out of this.
Sweet, 6:30 you bring in those brassy 80's synths and tie the last half to the first. Then you bring us out with some "One Night In Bankok" style synths. For me being a creature of the 80's, this piece is truly awesome!
Thanks for being the first one to comment on this. Originally I set out to make a minimal techno track but then that 80's bass line just seemed to fit so I thought i'd roll with it. I'll have to go and look up Dale Bozzio as I haven't a clue who he is. The second part was all just loops and chopped up samples. Thanks for dropping in and commenting. I was beginning to think that nobody was going to bother. It's slower than an asthmatic slug round here at the moment.
Cheers.
FR
Thanks man. I like that second track as well but when I played it back on my sound system it sounded to quiet. I think I need to revisit it and boost the levels on that part. Cheers as always for checking out this latest helping of custard.

hi FR, this is very funky, it moves nicely. Really solid sound. Lots of good vibes here. That bouncy stuff at the end is excellent. Thanks for sharing. Best, Alex
Cheers Alex, I'm glad you managed to make it as far as the third part. Sometimes I think these ten minute tracks are a bit too long for most peoples attention span.
Thanks again for dropping in and leaving your thoughts.
