I wonder what this would sound like with an added drumbeat ??
just a thought that pondered ones mind but yes this as a lovly flow and very relaxing rhythm to it well done nice work

thanks for the feedback! I didn't want too heavy a beat, as I was afraid of it clashing with the placid, more relaxing instruments. Glad to hear it flowed well, as that's always a big thing.
Cheers!
Thanks mate. I recently re-did this song not with a heavier snare per-se, but with reverb on the snare for my album (get it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?1o6b84cn689i5t8)
some great Ideas... for me that piano needs to come up in the mix and maybe a slight reverb to add some extra to it... loving the scratches in there and I'm glad you did use them all the way through...
you have to work on the end cause it's a bummer brother
Wasn't sure if piano would go with it. Since I got a second opinion, I'll try put it in and make the song longer. I'll also try to tie it up with a better cadence.
Thanks a lot for your input! It's Looperman-browsers such as yourself and the ones that have previously commented who push me to keep improving my works.
I love the gentle flow to this, and like RampatheSwift said, the scratching is a sweet element!
I think the only thing i would do to this, would be maybe to add some stings or synths, but thats just an idea that i would try,and is in no way a putdown of this track as it's sounding great as is!.
Wow I am stoked to see such a reception from this track. Thanks for the input, mate! I really like your idea of adding strings actually. I'll certainly see how it sounds!
this is dope. i can definitely chill to this. the scratching is a sweet element to the track. sad that you don't hear it much in music today. nice kick back tune. . . . . =) . . yea nice
Cheers man! There are hip-hop artists around now that still use scratching. They're just a little difficult to find. Nujabes, Bop Alloy, Pretty Lights, Marcus D, and Fat Jon are just a few popular examples of a dying genre.
Thanks a lot for listening! Glad you liked it
A lot of Dexterity in your "game" .... Yes! the piano seems to be part of you .... and I understand that it is a "of furniture", essence of your existence.
I appreciate this performance ....
so beautiful i almost cried haha I'm joking bout the crying but this amazing I'm not lying about fantastic work if you got time check out a few of my tracks cheers...
REALLY looking forward to this! Can't wait to hear back from you.
An air of the game you say? Any precise recommendations? I was originally going to use lounge percussion, as the game has a heavy 'cafe' vibe. But hip-hop suited the violins much better in my opinion. If theres anything I can change, let me know and I'll bounce over the new mixdown to you
Do you mean the saxophone at the end? Thanks alot man :D That means alot, because I spent a bit of time deciding how to use the sax sparingly (as I tend to overdo it in alot of tracks). Thanks for giving it a listen!!!
This is a pleasant track to listen to! The compression on the master is a bit disorienting though. If you want me to try and master this I'd be willing to, just send me the link to a wav file and I'll have it back to you in like a day! Just an offer though! It does sound really good!
wow seems like a real versatile vst! Thanks for sharing your secret! Glued you rekcon? Thanks man, but I just used FL Studio 9 and it's basic compressor to try level every thing out. Nothing too fancy. The strings and piano come from the Edirol Orchestral VSTi.
thanks man. Unfortunately there was no option for 'jazz-hop' which was the genre i was aiming for. I might move this over to the hip-hop category though (if i can edit the genre on looperman, that is).
Cheers mate. Yeah this guy is brilliant. To be honest, I only found him through an artist called Nujabes. Sad I never knew him earlier. Hope my Jazz-hop arrangement does justice to the great Jamal. Thanks for checking this out! I noticed you've been browsing a few of my other songs :p thanks a lot for your support. It means alot
cheers man!
I'm going to try putting in extra cymbals. I felt it was missing something so I mixed in extra snares (before finalising) but the treble was getting too thick. Perhaps another cymbal is exactly what it needs. Thanks for the feedback! Will try adding this
Sorry for the delayed response, I've been really sick. Dude this track is bunkers!!!! Got it on repeat. You killed it. I love the instrumentation. I can def feel the hip hop elements.
Hope you're feeling better man. Im really glad you liked it, and didn't mind me taking your brilliant acapella! Definitely keep up those vocals. They sounded perfect even without any instruments. It was heaps fun to work on this track; don't hesitate to contact me (D_babaic@hotmail.com) if you ever need someone to whip up a beat.
Take it easy mate. Thanks again for sharing your talented voice with the Looperman universe, and for stopping by to check out my track. Peace
thanks mate. I always thought of hip-hop as being more upbeat, but yeah they are very much the same when you arrange one or the other. Thanks for stopping by to check this track out!
