Rock is coming back to life again, finally.
Kinda tired of other genres, the radio channels on my country always plays dubstep and Pop, i missed rock.
Thnx Bro, i needed this :D

I wasn't under the impression it was a dead genre, although it is becomming almost a niche. Heck even Linkin Park's new stuff is mixed with electro/pop. I love all types of rock (orchestral rock in particular), but i've never made such a track. Glad to hear you enjoyed it :D

Thanks man :D Transition from Hip-hop to RnB wasn't TOO difficult to be honest, but I'm so glad to hear that it does sound decent. Cheers, mate

First off man, I really love piano and string work. Your piano craft on display here is really really good. Sets a good pace and mood. I understand what you mean about the guitar. What I do on my tracks with guitar I run the guitars through an amp mod in my fl studio and to me it sounds really good and more in the picture. I hope that can give you some sort of idea how to go at it from within a program view I suppose. This track so far is sounding really interesting and the support of vocals are great. Some deep words being sung here. A message that I'm sure many out there can relate. Thanks for sharing this, I enjoyed what I heard it's almost there man. Have a good 1. Peace

I have a confession to make... the guitar is the FL Slayer VST, not a real instrument :p Might put up a collab request so someone with a real guitar can work with me on this.

The vocals are amazing, so the pressure is on to really make this sound good, and it's comments from people like you that allow this to happen. Thanks for the advice (sadly I dont have a real electric guitar lying around though). Will be playing around with the track for future release

I like the opening vocals and piano but I found myself waiting for an explosion of hard guitar licks and vocals after that that didn't arrive. Has possibilities. Keep on it brothers.

Im not too sure how to go about the heavy guitar licks. I've had this criticism before :p So perhaps a rhythm with the guitar instead of the flat power chord? THanks heaps for the feedback!

I actually freestyled to this.. And if it's far from perfect it must be beyond it! Hah

Seriously

I can feel the emotion relating to the title.. The beat kicks in at the right times. And the transitions lay beautiful as far as I can tell..

Perfect mix to my ears. Mind if I flow on it?
I'll feat. you, all that.

Only thing I can say is at 1:25 I had to get used to that switch up but still goes well. Shows that there's a rush of emotion that needed to be let out!

Don't doubt yourself so much..
Keep rocking!(;

Thanks for checking this out! Cheers

I LOVE THIS but i also envy you a little XD cause I don't know how to use FL very well at all and i hear all this amazing music from FL and wounder how the hell do they make it. As for the Music I can see this as the ending of a movie where the team say goodbye to one another and they fallow there own path/dreams that they always wanted. Thanks for the wonderful music I might now go and try to learn FL more to do something like this ^_^. Have a good day and Take care

Oh wow I'm really glad I inspired you to pick up FL Studio again haha. Do try get the hang of it. Its a fantastic program thats often overlooked due to the amount of amateurs making horrible melodies using just the one VST (Sytrus).

There are so many ways to go about it, but my trick is to think of each 'pattern' as a single loop. I also suggest looking into some VST plugins if you havent already. DVS Saxophone is a MUST, as is Edirol Orchestra. Both are legally free.

If that wasn't enough, you can download drum packs, but for this song I used the FL Studio 9 standard drums to make a pattern. Drum patterns are fun to mess around with :p

I really hope you get back into it. We need some producers to show the world that this program is not just a sequencer, but a major musical tool. THanks alot for stopping by to have a listen! Im really glad you like it!!!
Take it easy, mate.

Its just a dm nice piece of easy listening music DjDaz...very relaxing...Wheather its the right thing likely depends on your audience I guess, but I`m with visualword....I`m just gonna sit here & listen...well done...Ed

I was attempting to go for the kind of background music you might get in an elevator or restaurant. If sitting back and listening is what you feel like doing, then I've achieved exactly what I want! Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the song!
Thanks for taking the time to listen

I would however add a touch a reverb to the drums and percussion. Just a thought!

Aw shucks. Thanks man! I might soften the snare a tad, and conforming to your advice, might add some reverb.

wow you have some skills with the piano! Really beautiful piece, very chill. Is it supposed to end so abruptly?
Anyway, very sweet track.
DjDaz
DjDaz replied 15th Mar 2012 - 13 years ago
It ends abruptly because of the loop. It was made by MCHN who is part of this site, and there's nothing I can do besides a fade-out.... you know what, thats exactly what I might do!
Hahahaha thanks for the compliments :D
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for popping by to have a listen.

Interesting track with a good ambient quiet restaurant feel to it or a drive in the countryside; I found there's even sounds in the beat itself which could be part of the restaurant noise, like the quietish symbal at the end could have been a teaspoon in a mug... I agree though that the snare's a bit too loud ( probably it's the chef dancing )
DjDaz
DjDaz replied 6th Mar 2012 - 13 years ago
Hahahahaha I must tell that chef to quiet down :p This was a very interesting comment to read. Drives you say? I've always wanted to put together a good driving track (perhaps a theme for my next album). To be honest I didn't intend on the percussion to represent the goings on in a cafe, but the melody was certainly aiming to accomplish that background restaurant music feel. I'll get around to the snare soon haha. The more I hear it now, the more I keep seeing the things you mentioned; The spoon, the shakers as a whisker, and even the chef :p Thanks for taking a listen. Peace.

Very relaxing.....I'm drifting.....! You might try a bit of reverb on the snare to soften it and move it slightly back in the mix. Great effort, keep doing what you're doing.
DjDaz
DjDaz replied 4th Mar 2012 - 13 years ago
That's not a bad idea actually. Thanks for your opinion! I'm glad it gives off the relaxing feeling I was aiming for. Keep posted, I might get around to editing this. Thanks again for the idea!

Nice....I'd pull the drums back a little in the mix and add just a touch of reverb to them.
DjDaz
DjDaz replied 4th Mar 2012 - 13 years ago
Again, I think this idea is fitting. As you say, I should add a 'touch' of reverb. On my headphones the drums sounded fine, but listening to it on my speakers, I agree the snare overshadows the other instruments a tad. Again, thanks for your ideas. I don't know why I didnt think of reverb before :p

Haunting? Wasn't expecting that reaction. Interesting to hear. It's good to hear that others can hear what I was hoping to accomplish; happy and relaxing. It's not easy making a song sound happy in a minor key :p Thanks alot for your input man. Glad you enjoyed my tune.

Hey daz! yip.. really tight man, quality & step is excellent .. the stick or Rim is to high in pitch for my liking ,, drop it down a few octaves or semitone ? apart from that you got a killer of a track man,, respect to you dude.
DjDaz
DjDaz replied 21st Jan 2012 - 13 years ago
You got a point, man. Thanks for the comment! Keep posted for a re-upload of this song. I agree that the snare is a bit sudden, but I dont know if it should be taken down a semitone or octave, as it's not a tone at all but a percussive sound (but it deffinately needs to be softer). I'll mess with the dynamics a bit, and see what I can do to make the song sound more interesting.

Thanks for listening! I'm glad you like it. I've experimented with so many different chords, particularly 6ths and 7ths to try and get a jazz-hiphop melody going, and its great reading that my efforts were not for naught. Peace dude.

DjDaz
DjDaz replied 18th Jan 2012 - 13 years ago
Haha thanks for checking it out! I was contemplating on adding a hip-hop/jazz beat, but I wasnt sure what kind of pattern or what kind of drums would suit the song, so I made a drum loop with an orchestral sound set I had. I was trying something orchestral just for something different anyway.

I might revisit this song though, and see what I can do. If you wanted to put a beat to it though, please be my guest! (just make sure you show me what you did :P)

Glad you like it. Thanks again for stopping to have a listen

I absolutely love this ... There's nothing wrong with it at all. I can feel... the emotion in this... the beat, the guitar... the piano... the everything.... I love it. I love when they both overlap eachother like both the people have overlapped eachother...
This.
is.
Amazing. I think this would be amazing as a duet, a woman and a man singing. What do you think? It's so deep as an instrumental, it's hard to imagine anything else. Amazing.
DjDaz
DjDaz replied 29th Nov 2011 - 14 years ago
I like that idea :D Wow thanks for the compliment haha. Glad you enjoy it! I'll look into male vs female vocals. But for now I think it works as an instrumental. Thanks again for checking this song out!
