Hey mate - thanks for listening - Ive done a few recently but although they sounded good were boring!! But trying to do different things so I guess I should expect the results to be more hit and miss. This one is very 'gentle' and for sue one for the headphones but I thought it held enough interest : )
Thanks Maj - I've made a few this last week but although the sound production was pretty good the tracks themselves were boring - I thought this one was better! Appreciate the listen and the warm feedback
This is absolutely creation at it's best. A very serene & calming listen here, without a doubt *Brilliant* work here indeed, the entire production is mint. Enjoyed my listen Kudos!
Hi Pseudoble, "floats along"...I think you did that fantastically. It's been a very long time since I've touched an MPC; you should make a few loops with it and post them, the sounds of the drums are quite rich and clear. That's what gives this track such a shine. The atmospheric sounds, sax, and the subtle hum...all feel really good; The only issue I have is the mid-drums loop (a break?) that comes in every now and then. I think it sounds strange to me because it has some low end sounds like bongos. Only thing I suggest is experimenting that fill-in sound. You could program a break using the drums you already have moving the track, so that the fill feels natural. Keep it up you're doing great. I'll ensure to listen more to other of your pieces.
Thanks for the careful listen and thoughtful feedback - I dont have an MPC - just the DAW! which is what I use with a mini keyboard (and I have other keyboards and guitars which I sometimes experiment with). I dont think I known for sure which bit has the low end sounds but Ill have a listen with the headphones on and see if I can find it. Even if I can I doubt Im experienced enough to fix it - very much have my L plates on in learning the software and putting things together. This of course is why comments like yours on looperman are so good - helps me (us) to learn : )
I like your style. urban organic sound. Miles Davis would walk on this shit. your synths parts and jazz bada binhg bada bang mixed with wave pads. I can hear the love for harmonie. Mix is on point. What kind of compressor or eg are u using for mixing?
Hey - Sorry for the slow reply .. thanks for listening .. Im not sure what I used on this track it was an early one .. I have weiss compressor/ limiter and maximizer (among others) and that is what I mostly use in a pretty minimal way on most mixes : )
I really enjoyed this. It was very calming and peaceful. Even though there was a lot going on. I think it was Cru that mentioned the sax, I may be wrong. Either way, I agree. It is a great touch. It really smooths out the entire track. Just curious though, with it being so mellow and chill, how many times did you fall asleep in the middle of playbacks during it's production? (something that happens to me ALL the time! lol).
Overall, nice piece. Good work on the mix, too. Everything seemed to be right where it should.
Ha - thank V - it depends how late I sit up if I fall asleep or not - worked on this during the day and kept interested by layering the sound and finding the right settings for some of the effects on the multiple tracks of guitar - but yeah it sure aint dance or party music! Thanks for listening and the warm feedback
Thanks Maj - should have spent that day in the garden or doing the mountains of paperwork I have - but you know how it is once you start building something - it's nice to have the warm feedback - thanks for listening
I don't know why I just assumed that I have heard everything you currently have posted. I was shocked that you've had this track up for four days and I haven't listened to it yet. Perhaps I was saving the best for last.
I like this track, it could easily be on the "Dark side of the Moon" album (one of my all time fav "Floyd" albums).
The writing, arrangement, Mix/Mastering and execution is flawless. I had to put on my "good" headphones to make sure I was getting everything. A very enjoyable listen. Cheers.
Great Track. Faved
I'd definitely say this is Lo-fi. It's a genre I've been listening to religiously lately. I know that this genre borne out of a necessity for students to have something calming to listening to as they studied. I use it when I'm writing (not music, of course..lol), and when I'm doing house chores, or when I just want to recline on the sofa and chill. For someone new at the game, you have done a fantastic job. It's catchy, the vocals are just enough. Thanks for allowing downloads. It's going into my rotation.
