very atmospheric.....
not quite jungle, kept waiting for the amen styled break to kick in.
nice quality exprimental vibe. great sound set.

Big Love!

i don't know what that 'amen' break might sound like but it would be cool to build on this little track. would you have any interest in developing this with me a little more?

on goose eating snow by DanGoldstein
I really liked this one... and I think the trick is not "the sound" but the way you use it!
In this case, the "goose" is more represented by the way the notes "jump" in a goofy way, bringing to my mind the imagine of a dancing goose on the cold snow.
Did already tell you that you are talented?
probably yes... and I really believe it!
Ciao, Domenico

lol goose eating snow huh

yea - not my best sonic accompaniment to art but that was the idea anyway. could have explored a more "quacking" sound or more explicitly implied "pecking". the music also takes on it's own force and life regardless of what we are trying to do, you know? thanks for stopping by.

Yeah.. title is feating extremely well. Are these synth trumpets are used in purpouse? :)
DanGoldstein
DanGoldstein replied 14th Mar 2014 - 11 years ago
thanks. yup - the trumpet and trombones samples are from an old Yamaha keyboard. DGX-200. glad you thought the title fits the music. thanks for stopping by. peace

I think you're spot on with the title. I can actually visualize the goose doing something odd, like eating snow... I'm from Florida, so it's odd for me.
I like the concept of this and the melody. This could really be something so I see why you're considering adding on some strings and whatnot. lol. NICE

thanks, OViea. if something of the goose is in this I am happy. writing from art is an interesting process. it is only recently that I have tried going in that direction rather than writing something and then finding art that might be a match. thanks very much for stopping by! peace. Dan

Where was your pet lion when the cannibals clubbed you? Probably sleeping as usual. This is cool, always love your unique music.

Not quite what I was expecting from jungle (the UK hip hop like sound) but more a literal interpretation of the jungle. Keep working on it, it sounds interesting. Neal makes excellent loops.
DanGoldstein
DanGoldstein replied 8th Mar 2014 - 11 years ago
i am sure you are right on 'jungle' It was self-serving using it I suppose. there is always more to do with these tracks. it was a good second effort for me with FL Studio, my new DAW. also made some progress in working from the picture back to the music and coming up with something closer to what I was hearing in my head. really appreciate your stopping by. now on to your tracks! peace

it really makes ya think of a rainforest atmosphere! the synths are very effective in this one ^^ the reverb also gives it an open air feeling. nice one, keep it up ;)

This is a cool sound which reminds me of the prog group, King Crimson. They would start a song similar to this and than all hell would break loose! Good job.

Cheers,

I see a snake slithering along in some grassland maybe a garden, stalking some prey or looking for a nice place to nap. Great! :D

Sounds like it could be the theme track to an RPG game. The adventure medeival or sci-fi ones. I like the idea. Sell it like Sega! :)

DanGoldstein replied 15th May 2013 - 12 years ago
i'm gonna give some thought to that, Kamp. folks have commented along these lines (RPG music) before. Did you ever go back to a track you did a while ago and it's like - OMG! really feel like remixing this one but onward and upward. thanks for your words. peace.

huge thanks brother mike. you know - if I had my druthers this morn I would just chill and listen to the entire Bluebeard's Castle. Was totally floored that you alluded to Bartok. peace.
