Nice trippy intro. I've tried to do stuff like this but it never seems to work out, the intro sounds kind of industrial but then the floaty pad comes in and it changes to a chill out kind of a vibe. Now i'm getting some piano whilst continuing with the windy sounding background. It's quite a haunting sounding piece which i like. Good atmospherics and synth sounds.
It's only a short piece but i can see you're improving all the time.
FR
i appreciate your comments as always free. since you checked this one out I think the transition is a bit smoother and I'm feeling ready to continue development if skylawker expresses interest. thanks for your comment.
Dan, really impressive work. It is not easy to take an existing track, then add another minute to it, and make it all sound like it was all done at the same time. Really impressive work. I love the dissonance on this one that the piano provided, and again was impressed that you were able to continue that message to the end of the piece.
Well done. A tip of the hat to both of you. I hope all is well.
Bear - that was the encouragement I needed, although I felt at the time that it was still not quite there. was hoping for some feedback from the collab before committing too far. since then I smoothed things out considerably I think and would consider pressing on if collab is into it. thanks for comment very much. regards.
thanks Destero. supper appreciate your stopping by and your comment. i managed to smooth things out a bit more this morning so I am feeling pretty happy with the track right now. peace. Dan
A beautiful piece here brother Midi.
Very inspiring work.
Loving the 'Terminator' sounding drums at 1.47.
You have captured the emptiness of the moon very well.
Brilliant and emotional. Blessings. - B
thanks Billy. will share your comment with skylawker. it is all his. i brought things to a close - last 0.55 or so. i liked the terminator drums as well. all the best. Dan
I hear what you worked on with this track. Nice idea concerning the continuation of piano and to transition in a closing section which the original sounded like it needed. Thought the motives sampled from earlier was cool approach. Nice level adjustments, Clear and powerful. Nice, noticed you fixed some of the gaps from the original, sounding smoothed out now and still retains its space feel. Keep up the good work Dan. Thanks for posting it. Peace
thanks man. it was hard keeping the sound consistent with the original track so sampling seemed to be a solution. the collabs are definitely good to do. i appreciate your tuning in to this one a lot. now on to music for a lighthouse! we will be talking!
Very cool track. Quite different from the others on the loop. It has a big jazz fusion feel. I've been to a few Jazz festivals and I could picture jazz fusion players on stage banging out these sounds.
i seriously appreciate your appreciation Renz. I could visualize the Eastman Jazz Band playing this back in the day when I was a student there. At that time, though, I was deep into classical oboe! look forward to checking out your stuff. regards - Dan
Dan U know how I like dissonance & AtonalitY in music , and We both know We can't expecT all people really underestand such complexity in progression & selected intervals of yours feat designedImpression .
this is second collaboration of yours & designedImpression I've had the chance to listen & enjoy , both faved & both wonderfully innovative . congrats to U both .
( ps : oOops ! star gazer me forgot abouT writing that autobiography !buT seeing your face made me remember that again & U'll recceive it in next 3 days ).
hope eveything goes fine with U .___B
hey behnam - everything is good. i'm really glad you had a chance to listen to this. It is always great to hear from you and have your comment. It is true what you say about dissonance and also i would say "asymmetry" in the music. it is not always "comfortable". thanks for remembering about the bio. it will be helpful for the site. talk to you soon. - Dan
I really dig the progression on this like others. It does sound like it needs some tweaking though, specifically at the 2:24 mark when the frantic guitar comes in. Sounds a bit muddy, but it doesn't cause too much friction between hearing the other instruments. Does sound something like a train, maybe's there's multiple doors to heaven(or some place else) and this is one of the train roads there. Idk if that would be possible, but maybe. Very cinematic. Great work here midisparks and designedimpression. (Designed seems to have a habit of deleting his tracks frequently too, you know why?) Anyways, keep up the producing. peace
thanks a lot Gramo. you are right about the muddiness. the track needs one more thorough EQ scrubbing. i sure hope there are multiple tracks to heaven! take care. look forward to listening to more of your work. Dan
hey Scotts. somehow I thought there was a kind of fusion element in it. Just the fact of some classical elements, a bit of big band in one section, etc. I really am happy you enjoyed it. thanks for stopping by! Dan
You've really managed to capture the vibe of a train going down the tracks and then some. This is vastly improved on the last version of this i listened to. I dig the drums and the piano parts and i like the way it goes a bit grungy and mental in the secon half of the track. It's in a very weird key but it works for the effect you were trying to achieve.
Very original and fun to listen to. Sounds like you're getting the hang of FL now.
FR
i was really hoping you would come back Free. after all, man, it's an Endless Journey! LOL. yea - Dave provided the drums and piano for the "mental" section (I like that) I guess I am keeping my head above water with FL - yea. mastering is where I should really take a frickin' course or something, but I see the light now and then. thanks very much for your positive review and encouragement. I look forward to reviewing more of your tracks. later. Dan
Fun to listen to, and extremely effective artistically! Love the sampling you did, and FL is just awesome for that in my opinion. I used to gravitate toward train tracks when younger, and I can definitely feel that magnetism in this track. The melodies have a very free feel that I can appreciate, like organized chaos or something like that. I like the noise sound around 3:00, very raw sounding and expressive for percussion. I'm curious about your sampling techniques in FL, do you use raw one shots, or do you edit them to have a loop point? Or both for that matter. Any way, a very enjoyable trip here! Fav'd!
i am happy you were feeling this one, Pat! Dave paul-stretched the brass (big band) section. I just shortened or lengthened the entire paul-stretch clip directly in the track to get what I was after. thanks again for stopping by. really appreciate it. Dan
Awesome track midisparks! I really liked how the track progressed. It kind of has a haunting vibe to it. Loved the piano and the guitar. The mix sounds good too. This one's a Fav. Nice work.
thanks a lot shatner. really glad you liked it. kind of used the track to learn a few things about sampling in FL Studio. DesignedImpression gave me the idea for a "fantasy" section which is based on some paul-stretches of parts of the track. thanks again.
I like this, this is original, never heard anything like this, its artistic...I do get a feeling of move-ment, and I can hear the different landscapes whizz by, I get a clear visual - Like a mini-acid trip on rails with out the acid, ha ha. I don't do acid by the way. Just saying...
thanks EMUZX. i'm honestly happy if i managed to achieve something of that sense of the train moving along. and yea - it is also about the scenery changing. i'm stoked you picked up on it and enjoyed it. thanks very much.
Looking at the picture while listening... amazing interpretation of the art! I love the degraded audio you've created, very deep and more complex than it seems. Very cool and dark, yet open to interpretation too, I hear light seeping in and hope for a release or escape.... something is trying to get in also, which means it will take some concentration to find exit without harm or being spotted. My type of ambient! Well done! Fave.
thanks, Pat. i like your narrative a lot. there is a sense of "creeping" along - concentrating intensely to avoid harm as we seek an exit. best regards, my friend.
Brilliant intro, lovely ambient sounds. like metallic and pad;like at the same time. Then a dissonant string hangs above the metalicpad swirl, interluded with bass clangs. You sir have not only understood what ambient is really about, you have added to the fine small distinction of ambient artists who get it right! hats off to you! Oh and I may have crapped my pants.....:-(
holy cow! crucethus - thou praisest too much! LOL. really appreciate your enthusiasm for this one. ambient is fun. i guess this creepshow worked out pretty well. thanks again very much. see you round the cyberhood. Dan
haunting as I like and live , dissonanT as I like and live ,imagery as i like and live ...and corridor creep as I don't like but unfortunately live...haha... so even althought i try

hey, behnam. nice to hear from you. all is good. working, writing. this one was easy - an application of "paulstretch" effect in audacity. don't deserve the credit I am getting in these kind comments. I added a few touches I suppose. take it easy for now - Dan
Amazing piece you have here. Sounds like this could be in a mystery/horror movie of some sort. I would really like to hear this while looking at those pictures, probably an amazing yet scary feeling.
Great work and please keep them coming, love atmospheric music like this! :)
thanks a lot. it really did turn out to have that horror movie sound. we used an effect in Audacity called Paulstretch. the original track was only about 1 minute or so and it got stretched to 25 minutes total! thanks for your great comment. really appreciate it.
Nice piece of atmospheric work. It sounds like a haunted house scene from a movie or something. It would make a great backdrop to a horror flick or a dark video game.
A relentless, spine tingling sound with thunderous beats.
I'm glad i'm not on drugs because this would probably have freaked me right out lol.
FR
LOL. I'm glad you are not on drugs also FR! thanks very much for your enthusiastic comment. yeah - the thunderous beats was a fun after touch. Audacity has a very nice "generate" menu that makes adding a few different sounds very easy. thanks again for stopping by and your comment. really appreciate it.
I was so sure I reviewed this one! Weird! It's so totally cool! I love 12 tone stuff generally, and you made it work great on this track! Glad I ran accross this one! Faved!
