This tune is savage yet melodic at the same time. I'm a big fan of that style and try to do it myself sometimes (with limited success) Love the phatness of the drum section and dig your melodies. I'm glad i found your page again because you do some blinding stuff. How about we try a collab sometime?
Be good to have you show yourself on the site again. It's a bit dead round here just lateley.
All the best,

I saw your avatar whilst i was reviewing one of Spivkurls tracks so i thought i'd pay your profile a visit and check out some of your tunes. Haven't heard nothing from you for looooooong time. Anyway, this is sounding really cool, reminds me a little of john digweed with regards to the riff. I could listen to that all night. Anyway, the site aint the same without the old faces so where are you girl? You should come back because you make good tunes and what else are you doing anyway?
Kind regards (a very drunk) Free Radical (A.K.A. Nick Q)
It was good to see your avatar come up and even more of a pleasure to listen to your tune!!

Everybody throw your hands in the air!!! Excellent deep trance track Koukotsu. There's a dark edgyness to this which always tickles my senses. In short, It kicks ass and it's my fav tune of the day.

Hey! Where the hell have you been? I must have just missed ya until now.
Anyway, Liking the new material. Nice ringing noises and in a way reminds me a little of Sasha. This would go down well in a prog house set.

Hi Nick! I'm glad you decided to come back.

I honestly don't hang out quite as much as I used to, I'm having a bit of trouble adjusting to this new layout, you know?

But, I have new songs in the works and there really isn't a better place than this to share them in spite of all the changes!

I've never really listened to Sasha but you've got me interested! I'll have to check him out soon.

Thanks for listening and letting me know your new name, I would have never found you otherwise!

Super Happy Rainbow, kawaii name. (You called it Kablonk before ;))
Still, I love the song. It reminds me of neon tutus, neon tights, fuffy pink leg warmers, and cute fuzzy boots.
Hope to her more of your stuff soon,

Thank you!

Yes, I decided that it really deserved a better title, and being the super happy sounding, colorful song that it is, "Super Happy Rainbow Song" it became, lol.

I've been kinda busy lately but I'm hoping to get re-dedicated to music-making real soon!

Thanks so much for the comment!

Wow, yeah...big right enough! esp in the headphones here, raw energy yet soft on the ears, feeling the trace/euphoria vibe...very anthem like...dig all those interweaving click percussion sounds also...puts an edge on!, cool stuff :)

Koukotsu replied 13th Dec 2011 - 13 years ago
Thank you, glad you liked it! I've been using some dramatically different mastering techniques lately, like heavy compression and a very slight distortion effect on the entire track, it really spices things up I think!

I've shifting back into "soft and fluffy" mode as the winter sets in though, expect mellowness soon!

But I'll always have the occasional "paint peeler" in the works though, lol.

Thank you so much for commenting!

always such a full sound you get, thru phones this just , big! i can see the flaming monkeys reference...hah, not so much the tacos...great breakdowns, this has a cinematic quality as well, very nice K -dbl-

Koukotsu replied 13th Dec 2011 - 13 years ago
Ha ha, that gated lead synth just sounds too much like a flaming monkey for it to be named anything else!

My newest track will most likely be a little less ferocious than some of the ones I've been dabbling with lately, winter is setting in and I'm feeling more mellowed-out, lol.

Thanks a bunch for leaving a comment, sorry it took me so long to reply!

Wow....Is it just me or are you totally making your titles a bit...harsh? I dunno, but this is very nice. Even if it is a flaming monkey apocalypse. I thought it sounded like a taco....
Still, nice track.

Ha ha, yeah it might be a tad bit "violent," but the sound just really makes me imagine I'm being savagely attacked by a swarm of flaming monkeys, lol!

I was a bit angry at the time because my precious laptop computer fried as well :(

But I'm fine now! I think?

Anyway, thanks so much for leaving my first new Looperman site comment!

This is one of my personal favorites too, one of those "I can only do this once a year" songs!

But yeah, it's now trapped on the harddrive of a dead laptop, lol.

Thanks for the reviews!

Like it K. Like that deep bass and the awkward melody. Very chilled. I can see tha AFX influence. A bit Selcted Ambient Works 2 only more happy and slightly uptempo. Good job.

Sadly, my good computer finally died on me and took quite a few good tracks with it, including this one!

I'll get it working again one day though, lol.

Hi there!

I think I remember you; are you the one that made that post and I came in and got all bitchy at you for no good reason?

Sorry about that, lol :(

I was dealing with some "personal issues" back then, but I've matured quite a bit in the off season, I hope.

Thanks for listening and reviewing! I've been a little busier than usual (If you can call playing Little Big Planet 2 all day "busy") but I'll come give you some reviews real soon!

Thanks!

The last couple of tracks I created were a bit on the rowdy side, so I decided it was time to tone things down for this one.

I'll come repay you as quickly as I can, but I'm getting really far behind now, lol! I've been busier than usual lately and don't have quite as much time to dedicate to this site as I used to.

Totally brilliant! An outright fave!

It's weird, if I listen to one of your songs, you can always tell it's Koukotsu.
Strangely enough, it does feel like a chrysanthemum. A little white flower. I really like it. I will download when I have the chance. On to my iPod for listening.
Love your picture of Miku Hatsune. I really love her music.
Waiting to hear more....

I'm such a Mikutard! She's a much better singer than Katey Perry and isn't even human, lol.

I've thought about using her in some of my songs but most people would be driven insane!

...and I'm working on remixing one of Spivkurl's songs now, but it isn't going so well at the moment.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by!

This is a very good track! I love the interplay between the synths! Your arrangement and automation is awesome! I like the part where everything sounds far away, that's really creative! This is actually pretty danceable! Faved for sure! It's really good to have you back!
Koukotsu
Koukotsu replied Unknown
I can never get enough automation! I really wanted to capture that "noisy neighbor blasting annoying music really loudly" sound on those far away parts, lol.

Thanks a bunch for the review, I'll be working on that remix in my spare time this week, hopefully it won't disappoint!

Just love how benevolent this is...warm and gentle, really pleasant on the ears here, good stuff as always, you haven't lost your amazing touch....must admit I like your edgy tracks lol but I am hungover today and feeling a little tender...so this is just the stuff! keep up the good work K
Koukotsu
Koukotsu replied Unknown
Being a typically benevolent and gentle person, this is the sort of sound I tend to gravitate toward, lol.

But yeah, there is nothing wrong with a little variety every now and then!

Sorry to hear about the hangover! I stopped drinking altogether about 2 years ago but I remember how horrible they can be, lol.

Thanks a bunch for the review, I'll make sure to repay you real soon, I'm getting really behind!

Thanks! I had quite a rough time trying to tame the lead synth on this one. (step sequencers are such a pain, lol.)

I'll probably be updating this one soon, I just feel like I could do so much more with it, but I'm pretty pleased with it already!

I'll get you back tomorrow I promise, but it's bedtime for now, lol.

Sojobeast took the words right out of my mouth, "allergic to cardinals ?" haha! I do like how you used an everyday event for the title.

Hey K, this is cool, no complaints here. I'm sure if you rework it you could tidy things up but overall it is a very good song idea with some nice dynamics, well done!

Sorry to take so long to reply, I've been having some computer issues lately!

And yep, I was attempting to capture the essence of those ferocious feathered fighting fiends, that's why it's a bit on the rowdy side, lol. Plus I've been listening to a lot of rock albums lately.

Thanks so much for reviewing, I finally have some free time to devote to repaying everyone now!
