very cool track - not quite the same quality and nuance with the sound production but damn fine tune and nicely constructed, damn fine legacy you have - seems like this leopard has always had great spots : )
You know what's interesting to me about this one, it's less sophisticated than your current material, sure. But it's still identifiable as you. It seems like I can hear a lot of your current oeuvre in embryo. It's possible I'm just projecting here but to my ear it genuinely sounds like what it is. A musical yearbook photo from long ago.
love that bounce Ben, the synths are gritty love it with that sub and a twitch of reverb its gritty AF, cool melody and a great bassline, old skool sounds nice bro love the bongo drop :))
Definitely has the retro - I mean vintage - vibe :P
Some elements remind of Leftfield back in the day. The 303(ish) synths really take me back too. Cheers!
Hello Ben.
Yes, mate. I m with Robbie on this one, It's a blast from the past. However, it's very well constructed and sounds really authentic to the era.
Great job.
Well done

It's a blast from the past!
You had some hardcore stereo
separation going on. The Synth
reminds me of the sounds you get
from the Mini or Micro Moog love it...
Great track (then and now). Faved..
Didn't forget to hit the button this time:-)
It was a bunch of Mods that emulated older tech circuitry (an actual synth not samples). Then it was arranged in a tracker program. I often used multiple software back then.
This is a really special track and even a bit funny with the frog in it.
I like that tune .
Some parts are for me a little to much to handle but thats personal.
For the rest a great track.
My word, just now. A rainbow-colored mushroom exploded out of my head. 1:26 we go all prog. This is Genius mate, prob one of my faves from u. 3:12 TO 3:16 NICE LEAD IN AND THEN ITS FREAKING GENISIS (PG era) meets Rush. Great Work
Thanks for the comment and the fave. I've been leaning more towards complexity lately, but avoiding metal and rock (for some reason), which leaves fusion and progressive elements (and a little IDM) to get my complexity fix.
What a lot of fun - love the balance of elements, psychedelic, prog, funk, and 'quirk', great synth sounds and as commented the drums are masterful - to my ears this gives a nod to zappa, king crimson and genesis or yes but charts it's own place in that landscape : )
What's up BofD,
I'm really feelin
the Psychedelic's
in your melodic as well
as rhythmic progressions
on this track. It feels
like something Zappa and Yes
would have made if they played
together. That change @ 3:18 almost
made me want to do some shrooms to get
the full effect.
Great track. Loved it! Faved..
PEACE from the far East... TTYL....
Thanks for listening and commenting. I was thinking 70s prog rock meets early 80s fusion, with modern production quality, so Zappa and Yes are perfect compliments.
this type of work is above my remit Ben, i wouldn't know where to start, but its like watching and riding the magic roundabout on acid or shrooms Doogle and Florence sat either side of me just grinning their heads off, mad trip with percs and foleys and that brooke burke (frog)
glorious cacophony of colliding sounds and very aptly titled - music for falling into a black hole - there is quite a bit of melody in there (strangely). a fairground organ merry go round sound that sounds like it could evolve into something - I like it!
Thanks. I listened to hundreds of files of raw data to make a decent sample folder. The amount of sonic information in a raw data file can be astonishing, from clips and pops to "whitish" noise with a million voices hidden inside (particularly when you resample down to about 4X the time duration and -2ish octaves or so.
Gotta love a little django - this is a wonderful utilisation and you have really brilliantly picked up on the emotional tone of the django samples and take us on beautiful and evocative musical journey. Couldn't help thinking it would be the best ever sound track to a woody allen film : )
thanks for that link Ben, id heard the name only, now i know how important he was, what a guitarist, you have definately captured his spirit here mate, now i know a little more about his equisite style
DOOM this is fly bro, love the jazzy happy feel it gives that bouncy funk edge, love the change ups it creates bags of swing love the music drops leaving the drum, and the accoustic guitar gives a latin/spanish harlem feel, real chilled happy afternoon lounge music, really enjoyed it Ben
