Some classic funky Rhodes (reminds me a lot of a Fun Lovin' Criminals track. Maybe Smoke Em?) and then a solid beat that is built upon at 0:36.
Everything sitting very tightly.
1:00 those vocals are awesome. Where are they from/who are they? Probably too much reverb on them but that's your choice.
1:48 clavichord change was needed then as the previous riffs had become a little monotonous.
Lots of funk in this.
2:37 beat gets subtler(it was just starting to get a bit boring) and there's some extra percussion in bongo/djembe form as well as some very cool bass guitar pops. Love that sound when it's done right.
Then a cool, big string sound, which continues in the background as those fine vocals return on 4:12.
Shame you didn't play any of this as I'd give you much higher marks if you had.
Overall, it's a well produced, tight and neat funky, cool groover and I don't have any additional production criticisms. Well chosen and arranged loops...
hey Extraball,
yes, very nice chill vibes on this one... Quite simple guitar but I like the oldschool beat you used on it, nice trumpet section at the end! You have a lot of really interesting concepts for the production using only some just simple sounds here. NIce work.

Very nice piece of work, can see where you may want vocals in the mix, but personally thinking track stands alone as it is too, even without vocals, been spoilt today hearing tunes on the loop, man this one is right up there with some very good tunes on here...Fav...Peace n Respect...Mosaic...
Hey this is pretty sweet! Definitely an original take on dubstep. Great use of the vocals! This made me wonder what this song would be like at drum and bass tempos, because it seems to have that nice DnB vibe to it. The more aggressive parts are quite cool, but I like the whole thing. Excellent work! Fave!
Your avatar fits this track so well...fells like I'm being transported to a very trippy place. lol and your avatar looks like the portal. Transporting, love the sounds used in this too. No rust here. peace
Oh yes! This is my favorite kind of beat! Dynamic and groovy! It's not often that one hears techno with this much melodic value, so way to go! The mildly dubstep sounding bass is a nice touch too, I like to hear people taking inspiration from lots of directions. I respect when someone can make entertaining songs with Live, as the songs I've made with it were pretty much my weakest ever. Great sounding use of reverb, and I know that's not always easy to tune. Good first song of the morning! Fave!
This track has a a slight deja vu feeling to it as it reminds me of a track i can't put my finger on , but yet the sound is recognizable, that is a good thing to me it shows you are going in the right direction with this track and the intro is truly brilliant and unique. All it is missing now is a rush in which i am sure you will work on as it then would be club worthy , as it makes me wanna dance but yet we need a break from dancing so a break unto a drumroll climax gets people dancing again and that all this needs to make it perfect ..
Sorry for the late reply dude! Thanks for listening and the suggestions, I'll take that on board. Im glad you liked it and it made you wanna dance, that was the intention really haha. Nice one, cheers!
So glad you enjoyed! I like a lot of your stuff. I'd love to collab with you for my next LP, it would be good promotion for the both of us. Only if you're interested, my email is stricklandchris1988@gmail.com If you don't mind, I'd rather contact that way because I very seldom log on looperman. Email me and I will send you the vocals, without the effects. What program do you use? I use Acid Pro but I'm not that great at making the quality sound very good. :\
When visiting your page, it's very good odds that if I haven't faved a song, I haven't listened to it yet... and this song proves that! Freeking awesome sparse and atmospheric dubstep! The bass line is killer, and it seems like you shared the low end with other instruments. Gives a nice complex feeling. Jammin stuff, I'd love to hear something like this performed live! Just enough dub influence to make it feel vintage, but it's very up to date too. The outro gives me vampire visions, I dig it!
Hey man, that's cool to hear from you since you are such a respected member here! :)
There is quite a lot of layers here, each one on its own is quite simple but like you say after they have all been added together it sort of gives the impression of complexity.
Thanks for listening again! Muahahahaha (dracula style)
Pretty epic intro. I like the sounds that i'm hearing and it's making me think i gotta get another copy of ableton as i always like what i hear when i play stuff made in that DAW. Really good synth leads, heavy basses and great melodies. You definitely gotta get this on your work computer!
Great stuff EB.
FR
Thanks dude, Im glad you liked the intro. Ableton is a great program but of course most of the sounds come from the array of plugins I use. I would highly recommend getting some native instruments stuff as it is fairly simple to use and sounds great too! And I got Ableton installed on the laptop as i managed to get administrator privileges, yay!!
That's awesome dude, really like what you've done! :)
I don't suppose I could maybe get a dry and wet vocal stem? I could probably EQ a few things in my track to make your vocals sit better! Thanks for doing this!
This remix has a totally different feel, tempo difference and a much more low key approach. The wobbly bass is certainly a unique approach. Well done, mix sounds good and a cool interpretation of the original. Like the noise you added, interesting touch.
Great remix! To me, the track takes off at 2:26 and holds me.
You worked the guitar in flawlessly...I couldn't work it in without it just sounding added but yours is out front and alive! Props!
Hey, thanks for listening to my version too! It was slowed down a little bit so I think the combination of the tempo change and the warping in ableton made it work quite well! Take it easy!
Oh yeah buddy! Awesome stuff! I didn't see this one coming! I've got to ask, did you change the tempo? It gives the impression that you did. The bass additions you made are just sweet as hell! The synth part that sounds a bit like an organ is very nice too, adds to the effect of the breakdown for sure. oooo and some piano too, sweet! Bangin mix, you've outdone yourself! Expected something cool from the Extraball though! Fave!
Hey! Thanks again and I'm glad you liked it! Yeah the tempo was changed to 120bpm so you were right about that. It's always easier when you have good sounds to start with and I liked how many loops there were and how they were organized, so well done with that! It was a lot of fun :)
Just noticed your remix effort up in the latest track comments so here I am, Yep like FR said a very much a dubstep version, so interesting what different sounds us guys can do with a same stems in our remixes, I've enjoyed listening to every version so far, been interesting, some used other bits apart from the stems, some used just stems provided, but every track had been great, yours no different mate...great listen...good work man...Peace n Respect dude...Mosaic...
Hey man, thanks for stopping in by again! Yeah its cool to see everyone's interpretation of it. I'm glad you enjoyed the listen, I had fun jamming with this!
