Hi. Yeah, it's a good track. Sort of hip hop but not exactly. Something slightly different about it. But in a good way.
I can hear something in common with your other tracks from the bass and drums.
The simple stabbed chord melody works nicely and complements his voice well. Has a good groove to it.
Simple, sparse drums until 1:10 when you add some other hats to give a bit of lift.
All the grooves fit well together and support the vocals nicely so you've found stuff that complements them well. Not always easy when you just start with an acapella (not that I try doing it often).
Not sure what else to suggest for this one as you've got a good length and the production is just fine and it's all about supporting those busy vocals anyway.
Hey, thanks. Yeah its all about the vocals in this one! Needed a little break from making my usual stuff so decided to have a go at hip hop. Maybe its more just straight up rap, I dunno. Thanks for listening again though, appreciated! :)
Hey great stuff! I like all the subtle accents the go on throughout the track! You and I seem to get into similar sorts of pad sounds, it's good to feel a connection. The basses you used are sweet, especially that nice rhythmic sequence! Good potent drums too! That synth that fades in at the end is nice, I could see it going off into an improv for a section as the focus or something. Nice chill but energetic song! Fave!
digging this here groove. That bass is dirty but i mean that in a good way. It sort of makes me think this is what happens when trip hop meets dubstep or sum ting.
Ah, the spooky synths have come in now and they give it an electro kind of twist.
This is great and it's making me think i need to write something down tempo with more boom in it.
Really enjoyed listening to this and i'm downloading it so i can listen to it some more.

Yo. I had to comment again as Beardyman is just such a musical genius. What a coincidence that you recommended that BBC radio clip. I had just watched it the day before as I regularly check for new uploads of his incredible live performances.
He's one of the greatest improvisers out there and such a natural comedian and also one of the best going. That track Timey Wimey from your link was amazing. From the presenter suggesting he sounded a bit Australian, he very quickly had a great didg loop going and then the killer beat kicked in. And he's a great improvisational lyricist. He can write some pretty good songs in real time, which is such a difficult skill.
So many other clips of his that I could suggest though make sure you check his full show in Seattle. Some of his rapping in that is really badass. He's also a great rapper as he can accurately sound like a whole load of other great rappers. Great reggae singer too.
The big shame for me (and I'd tell him this if I ever met him) is that he hasn't actually written and recorded a quality album of original material. He's got just one album and it's not very good.
But make sure you listen to his Don't Look Back In Africa song as it's one of the cleverest and most alternative cover songs I've ever heard.
I could witter on and on about Beardyman forever!
P.S. I've been to only two Beardyman gigs. Last one was him performing with a brilliant drummer, two violinists and a cellist. All spontaneous improvisational stuff, as usual.
Dan, some mega sub bass right there. Pretty damn funky beat too so you've got the engine room for some dancefloor action going on.
And the other synth on top of that bass fills things up nicely and they work really well together.
How did you make that intro synth lead build ?
0:53 what the hell is that noise? Probably another synth but it's a bit like some guy jumping out of the speakers at you.
1:15 gets more chilled with that floating pad.
This is good solid stuff though I would have liked a bit more of a change in it as well as perhaps some more melodic lead stuff. I guess it's supposed to be minimal and it works fine like that. I'm just expressing my personal preferences. But other people will be just fine with it as it is.
Actually, the most melody may well be right in the intro.
Really loving this DnB especially with those very nice sweeping pads, don't hear many tracks of this genre with them in, excellent flow and feel to the piece, nice little vocal bits, excellent piece, listening to this one, I might give DnB another go, after hearing this one, massive fav mate...Peace Mosaic...
You mentioned to me recently a 100BPM track so I guess this is it.
When the fat beat kicks in, it sounds like you're using some sort of dubstep kit. But not playing dubstep/brostep style - which I mostly do not like.
1:25 pause and high screech is cool. Then some megabass. It's now much dubsteppier but a good, throbbing rather than just all over the place craziness.
And at 2:05 you have your interesting melody and atmosphere that returns as well as your funky little bass so it's really quite musical.
2:43 drowsy lead
2:52 changes in note/chord that is a good bit of movement rather than dubstep wobbling about on one note.
Gotta bring that beat back in so you do. My only real complaint regarding the last section is that it doesn't really add much to the track. It's just a repeat of a previous section though it is good so that's OK. Just would have preferred some new element or new presentation of previous elements.
Overall excellent Great work.
Finally, here's my favourite musical performer and insane musical comedy genius giving you a bit of vocal-made d'n'b and dubstep. He's got way better stuff than this, including killer whole shows but I know you're gonna like this one.
Thank you for the detailed review of my track. I definitely appreciate that a lot! I guess you're kinda right about the second bass section, I still need to work on my arrangement a lot!
This is really interesting to me, throughout it I feel this frequency vibration that remains constant throughout. The glitch elements are subtle in a good way, and are mixed and effected very well. I kind of like it man, very fun listen!! faved!
Most of the glitches, bass and leads are all just variations of one patch i created in massive and lots of chopping bits up! The bass guitar was the scarbee rickenbacker sample library for kontakt. That thing sounds awesome and very realistic. Thanks for listening and the fav!
No problem - I enjoyed listening to it and would like to make more d'n'b. I'm not really sure why I don't. I seem to just be more comfortable working at mid tempo (80-110 BPM) rather than faster stuff ie 160-180 BPM.
I tend to do fast stuff just for certain sections of a track rather than have the whole track fast. I think I get a bit confused at high tempos and am much better at introducing good and varied grooves to my playing and more soul and funk when things are quite a bit slower.
I do particularly like your kettle drums, or whatever they were. Ah yes - timpani patches.
Yes, definitely check out The Prodigy's Their Law. As you don't know it, I'm guessing you maybe don't know that classic 90s electronic crossover group. They haven't really made much/any good music since then but I really recommend their Fat Of The Land album as a bit of a classic (though Their Law isn't on it). But they're still pretty big on the festival circuit due to their excellent back catalogue - music guaranteed to get a crowd moving!
And you did check out my track and liked it so that's good, for two reasons.
DnB can be quite a tricky one sometimes. I've had so many tracks that I started and then a couple hours later be like, this is crap!! haha. Im enjoying writing some 100bpm stuff recently as well, can get some nice grooves going at this tempo.
Yeah, the timpani does add an epic almost cinematic vibe to electronic beats which I like a lot.
Im very familiar with the prodigy I've just never heard that song you mentioned. The fat of the land still sounds fresh today, I love the song diesel power and of course smack my bitch up! There was a time when I went to the download festival a few years back and they were playing but when we went to go see them the queue was just too big, was gutted! Maybe I can still see them sometime in the future before they get old! lol.
Hey, this is way cool! Definitely a fresh style of DnB! Your mixing, as usual, is quite perfect! The drums flow oh so well, and your arrangement is great! This track seems to build in intensity toward the end, and I always like to feel that in a song. The subtle vocals add a lot to the vibes. Excellent work! Faved!
Kettles, Typmphany whatever you want to call them, pretty kick ass man ! Some nice Industrial vibe to this, I like those stabs too. Agreed with Static on wishing we would hear more DnB here.
Really enjoyed this.
I remember there used to be more dnb on this site in years gone by. Anyway, glad you liked it, kontakt comes with some cool timpani patches so I've been having a lot of fun with them recently!
Hi. This is cool. I don't actually hear that much d'n'b on Looperman (not sure why).
I like your kettle drums and would like to use more of them in my own music.
And it's good the way those drums build with the bass and then the funky flutey sound. Reminds me a little of The Prodigy's Their Law track. Do you know that one?
Solid d'n'b hats but the kettle drum low end makes this a bit different.
1:33 offbeat synth arrival I like. Funks it up a bit more.
2:06 new spacey pad minus the kettle drums makes the low end a bit cleaner and sparser though its fine when they return.
3:14 nice ending and a cool fadeout.
I could hear cello being on this and I think some of the lower end stuff made me think of low cello notes.
Good vibe that I like so well done.
I add small flavours of d'n'b into the many styles of music I make. Still never done a proper d'n'b track but will do someday. If you check my track Way Beyond Wrong, you'll hear d'n'b in there plus metal, hip hop, jazz, funk, banjo and saxophone in a crazy merger of genres and sounds. Here it is:
Really nice groovy track my friend! The guitar is jammin, and it goes well with the strings too. I echo larrywiggles about adding an organ in there, would give a very vintage sound to this. It's very good as is. The little jam session in the middle is awesome! Great track! Faved for sure!
Hey I don't know how I missed this! Didn't see it pop up in the forums for some reason. Anyway, it's a really awesome reinvention of this song! The stripped down, sort of half time feel really works! It puts me in mind of a very 90's style of electronic almost bordering on trip hop or something! You really gave a good feel to the chorus parts in my opinion. Thanks so much for doing this remix, I'm very impressed! Faved, and DL'd for future listening and broadcasting!
Thanks for letting me remix it, it was fun! And glad you liked it too! It came together quite fast, they are always the best ones! I'm going to put up my track "The Machine pt. II" for anyone to remix when I get home from work so keep your eyes peeled if you wanna have a bash at it!
I would consider myself a fan of Spivkurl. He has a great style that stands out here on the Loop. I was really curious to hear what you did with his work. I thoroughly enjoyed what you did. I've always said that if you're going to remix, or cover a tune, you tear it down to the foundation and rebuild it with all the pieces to make it completely your own. You've done just that. Good job.
Thanks man, yeah I'm really enjoying doing a bit of remixing right now and you're right, it's always better to strip it down and try make something completely new with the same sounds!

The intro lead synth was made in massive, love that synth and starting to get to grips with it now after using it for quite a while haha.
The noise at 0:53 is a guy going "yeahhh" but I pitched it down an octave and put some effects on it! Sounded quite cool I thought.
Yeah I was planning on doing more to it but I just listened to it too many times lol. Kinda spoiled it for myself.
Thanks again man, really like the detailed reviews! :)
