I like the synth sounds. nice choices. nice upbeat music. and it is great to hear the brass and sax. you have a great feel for this genre I think. all the best!
This is a groovin track. Very funky, indeed. Not allot of funk on this site, so have to check em out when I see them. You certainly did not disappoint, my friend.
I do love a track that makes me want to move, or get things done, and this has both of those qualities! I'd say that, for me, all of the guitar parts or the feature of this piece. They give a realism that is important, and the groove they create works very well! The drums are potent and danceable. I'm not a super funk fan, but this has a very nineties edge which does it for me. Fun to hear for sure!
Hey, the little acoustic funk chord rhythm was the very first thing we made for this, it basically all revolves around that and everything was added after. The guitar groove sounds pretty cool I thought, with all the little 'tick-a-tick-a's'. Thanks for listening!
Very cool funk here...like every movement in the song, specially those guitars...the groovy is simply brilliant...every instrument are on the top except that loop (on my humble opinion)...that sax from 0.40 and 2.16 is very mechanical...there isn't much similarity with the real sax voice...may I offer DVS Sax software for you? Perhaps you will hear better tune there...
Hey man, thanks for listening! The sax was a loop from this site, only software I have is the stock NI one in kontact but I don't particularly like it :-/ The one you mentioned sounds interesting, where can I get it?
Beautiful work! Truly is funky piece! In some areas with the brass and/or sax sections, I heard parts hat reminded me of the brass parts of Stevie Wonder's "Superstitious." Not sure if intentional or not, but was perfectly executed. All of the instrumentation was clear and balanced too. I recommend checking out a song called "The Recipe for the Perfect Afro" on YouTube. I think you may enjoy it! Cheers and thanks for sharing! Faved!
Thanks for listening, obviously I'm familiar with who stevie wonder is, but not really with his work. Tbh neither of us is really THAT familiar with funk at all, just trying to get into what we think is the groove!
I checked out that track on YT, like it! Def has a similar wibe to this! :)
I love the groove and the guitar in this (who's playing that?) and will give you a much fuller review later.
Also gotta say that I really enjoyed cellardoor's accurate and enthusiastic review and I enjoy relatively few track comments on this site (as the standard of commenting is so damn low).
Hey, thanks for listening! All the acoustic guitar parts were recorded by my friend that I made this with and I did the electric. All the bass, brass (with exception of the sax) and synths were played on keyboard and recorded in as MIDI by me. It was fun to make! :)
Oh, wow, this is slammin'. I love the catchy groove, and those gritty little synths in the intro. And the acoustic guitar is awesome. Cool juxtaposition of elements. I love the main melody being interspersed with brass. I love the trading back and forth of riffs between different awesome instruments. There's just so much confident attitude and swagger and joy going on here. My whole body's moving to this beat. I would dance like crazy if this came on while I was at a club or a wedding or something. I love the syncopated ostinato at 2:45; it's so playful. I can see myself pointing at other dancers and being super corny on the dancefloor to this. YAY.
Hey, thanks for listening and commenting! We had a few drunken jam sessions making this and we had a lot of fun, I think it shows! :). Getting the head bopping or the body moving was the idea so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks
I'm sitting in the back of the pick up holding my Kalashnikov tightly as I bounce around in the dust and I can hear this music coming from the cab and I'm envious of the guys in the front out of the dust and not having sore arses bouncing about on the bare metal.
See what the news can do to a guy!
But the tune obviously works ... it took me places ... and my arse is sore now .....
hi. so this is some quite short but very enjoyable piece. really nice work on this one. I can recognize the 'world beat' loop but it is played a bit faster here so overall your track sounds to me like a house track. I used this shortbusmusic's loop few months ago but it was played slower by contrast https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/159442
Will you be reworking this one again? For now it sounds like a sketch, it doesn't really evolve that much. But that's ok.
I was listening a lot to traditional hindu music. Compositions are usually very long and they are entirely improvised https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3lyYz19mEU very unlike looperman tracks haha.
Hey, thanks for commenting. I had fun just messing about with the above loops, I did have it a minute or two longer but it just didnt really work with this so I scrapped it, I quite like it just as a short track.
Just away to check out your track and the YT link. Thanks :)
The beginning made me expect to hear The Cure's "A Forest" start in, but you went a different direction with it. Don't know why, just sounded similar. It's an interesting style of music you made here, and I enjoyed listening!
I've never really been into the cure before but I'll check that track out! This is just a little tribute to the final fantasy games I used to play on playstation when I was a kid, the music in those games are awesome!
nice. this sound at the beginning reminded the violin sound a bit but it is of course computerized (I guess). I can hear harmonica as well and many other undefined sounds. Short but interesting.
In a sense you can label your track as an eclectic electronic as there is no proper stylistical frame here (to me). That's how I see it. You're simply combining very different elements of modern electronic music.
I noticed some older single stylistical sounds/flavours in here but I am not so knowlegable in dance/electronic to give you a very detailed review (I never saw anyone giving an insightful comment on the electronic track like this one on looperman so far anyway). Also I am not so hypnotized by that king of musical vibe - that's the reason why my comment may sound strange to you but that's ok.
As a whole it can be a techno - anything goes.
no proper ending so looking forward for a complete composition sometime. you can fade out the track anyway.
The beginning of this is really sounding tight. It has everything a great song should have. The part around 2:08 where it breaks down could have a little something else. Overall love it. Great work!
