Really good poppy/chill track. Very catchy and the vox sound great. Can definitel feel that jazz influence coming through the music. Interested to hear the completed project. Good work.
You made a beautiful song. Farish's voice is always beautiful, but your music is really sweet and clear. Beautiful piece that brings me to my memories of Sade.
very nice recording on Farisha's vocal... stunning tune :)
really enjoyed hearing this on here... is it just me, or is there like waaaayyyy too much hip hop, rap and dubstep on looperman. it shows when a song actually sounds new and fresh and fun.
very very cool job!
well done and hat's off to you guys :)
Thanks Minette - I'm glad you like it! On the issue of genres I'm really not very familar with those styles - in fact Dubstep sounds more like a dance!
Cheers, Jamie.
yeah yeah bro...this would sound great in a mix tape with Dimeola's Land of the Midnight Sun vibe with Mingo Lewis on percs and Jaco etc...wow, taking me back bro...break out the Paul more often bro..Bilbozo's got to hear this..he's got more that Santana vibe...really digging this..RTF was on e of the best man..this is taking me back...well done Jamie, thanks for this..
hey Jaime it's victor! i like what you guys got going here..want to hear more on this, develop the bridge more i think and open up some of the arrangement ...great first draft..the most critical first creative level to get to maybe..btw...seeing my man Mike Stern next week and want 2 know if it's ok to give him a copy of our two collabs..known Mike since Berklee days and would love to get his opinion on it..let me know if that's ok with u...email you soon
Hi Victor - how are you? I really rate Farisha's voice - a new looperman star!
I caught Mike Stern a few years ago at "Band on the Wall" in Manchester (It's like your 55 Club) and he was great - I also got to meet him and he was a really nice guy! By all means show him our stuff! Thanks for listening and commenting - speak soon!
Cheers, Jamie.
Mate what a sensational piece, crystal clear and arrangement spot on, something I have come to expect from you and man you did not let me down, you definiately got the feeling you were are in this great piece, very refreshing sound to it also, synths and guitar are great, nice chillout beat, light percussion, so working so well together, magical piece...instant fav here for sure, stunning track...Peace and massive respect dude, Estefano...Jamie have new piece up I did as Tribute to the lost ones in Germany hop you get time to check it out and give me your views on it...Peace man....
Oooooh. I love this. Comparisions isn't always a good thing, but this reminds me of an Al diMeola song. Anyway, great track. You gave me the smile of the day. XLNT.
Although I did'nt consciously write this with him in mind - this reminds me of Al DI Meola too! The reasons are probably because I used my Les Paul to record it and for the hook I used a hungarian scale (which he uses extensively) to imply that eastern sound. Glad you liked it.
I don't know what fusion is but I like this track ~ I tusk you know what your doing with that Elephant guitar ~ This was a very enjoyable experience...
Elephant guitar, haha, never heard of such a thing till now but I believe I heard it in there, sooo cool Jamie. I'm sure that going to a place like Egypt must be such an inspiration to write some music to. Such a pleasure to listen to this, it put me there, right in the heart of Cairo.
Thanks for the listen Wayne! The Elephant guitar thing is something Adrian Belew does (as well as emulating various other animals on guitar), most notably on the track "Elephant talk" on the King Crimson album Discipline - thats where it can be heard done properly (lol).
Cheers, Jamie.
Wow, funny I was listening to Shut up n' play your guitar by frank zappa today...nice job on the soloing dude! Reminds me of zappa but also has a electronic/tribal feeling.
I like this alot...it really has a nice mix and the background melodies work really well...the guitar level on top of everything is just perfect...great track
this track has some very interesting mirage-like qualities - it has an arid, desert feel even tho every second is full of events - it seems like the gtr parts are 10 feet tall when they really only last under 30 seconds - and i must add the belew 'references' are right on - the riddle of the sands?
Safe journeys, Jamie
Thanks for the listen Michael - I'm glad you liked it! It's no secret that I like the work of guys like Belew/Fripp etc (just look at my avatar) and over the years I have made a study of the way they play. I just couldn't resist playing a little "Elephantosity" on this track - it just seemed to fit!
This is quite the beautiful track! Feels like a journey to Egypt to me. I love the synth arpeggios, they really compliment the rhythm! Really nice guitar playing! This is exactly the kind of thing I think of when I think fusion. Very cool rhythms, they're so exotic! Beautiful piece my friend!
Mate very nice piece, second of 2 colabs that I have heard today that Dave is involved in and have to say both brilliant piece's, nice pads/synths, totally relaxing piece, I agree about the Nora Jones vocals would fit this one, spot on, nice laid back beat, definiately has a summer feel about, relaxing on a island, or playing in the back ground of a restuarant, brilliant collab, both from very extremely talented dudes, ty for sharing, fav'd...Peace and respect...Estefano...
Hmmm some nice Git work ? cromatic use of Glokenspeil, Psst 21st centry scitsoidman ? lol any one who listens to Zappa, must be in the ZONE: right,,, cheer's for your Words on My FART Track,, lol will be Back,,, Pasta la vite :)
thanks for this - wonderful - the whole tone scale and how to apply it is still quite a mystery to me so I have a ton of respect for that alone - but also the choice of sounds, etc - really really nice work my friend!!
yeah!!! loved it from the start ...
it's pretty perfect, except one little thing: the bass is too low, I think it could carry the whole track way better if it was mixed a little more upfront ...
other than that: awesome!!!
Ooooh Yes!
I if mentioned a zappa influence earlier you took it all the way at 33 seconds. An instant fav (and a dl if that would have been an option). This track is so good that great is an understatement. Amazed.
Peace
Thanks for the review! My music has definately taken a turn towards "Gonzo" recently! If you still want a copy - I've made it downloadable.
Cheers, Jamie.
I can't believe I listened to this, sounded like Hill Street Blues to me, coupled with some lounge music and Mr. Lucky. I was expecting some guitar wailing, a pleasant surprise althugh I like wailing guitars (now I sound like lyrics to Greenback Dollar. It's hell having a mind that free flows from one thought to anoter different one). I like your avatar by the way, it gives soome evil to my vivid dreams..
Intro is splendent, piano bild up, my fav!
very good transitions, and a lot of contrast, really has a lot of intruments elements in the track just as you said in description!
i really like it, very well been worked track, and great collab!
