Excellent Track. This is one of the best tracks that I've heard in a good while. You guys have hit it this one right on the ear hole. You have inspired me to move back to creating jazz tracks and I hope that I can do as well as you. Thanks for the pleasure of being able to listen to your work. Again Great Track
You were born with the chill gene, along with the song form gene, and the I CAN PLAY gene. you must be a medical musical miracle. Love that track. PEACE. THE MACK MAN OUT.
I could be gone from the loop for 100 years, and still I would end up here for some vintage SMOOTH JAZZ. It just don't get no better this. PEACE. THE MACK MAN OUT.
This one is stellar Jamie.....like having Oscar Peterson and George Benson in the same studio and maybe Freddy Gruber on percussion, and Dave Holland on bass :) This song is that good!!!!
I absolutely loved it. A tip of the hat to two of Looperman's finest.
You chickened out on some noodling?(unheard of for a guitar player)lol...oh well it's hardly torture listening to your playing now is it!(haha)..man I dig those sweet tones Jamie!especially when blended with Bear's atmospheric trails...somehow I can't see you hefting a flying V and getting paranoid your Marshall wall will collapse on you one day,or leaving your jeans in your car's engine compartment to break them in or spending $300 quid a week on hair product and wind machine extension leads.....thank God!...(ps.please do not ruin my image of you by admitting to any or all of these transgressions)
cheers Dave
Hi Dave - thanks for listening in! Flying V's now they are a strange concept. Since I would generally sit down to play -the damn thing would probably keep slipping off my lap. As for hairspray - I'm sure there are enough hip (or should that be sick) young dudes in the world to keep the producers of Narcissistic grooming products in business without me chipping in! I do however admit to inveterate noodling (it's something I need to grow out of) - on that one guilty as charged. Hope things are well with you Dave.
Wow Jamie, it is amazing how your filled in the holes in this one. Your guitar work is absolutely spectacular. It is like having George Benson sit in.....
Thanks for making it available for download. I'm going to share the new and improved version with everyone.
I'm glad you liked my efforts Bear and thanks for the kind comments. George Benson! - If only. I have updated this with a subtle remix following bbelle's comments.
I really like this but I think the mixing could use some work. The guitar sounds very nice but misplaced due to the volume. Everything sounds mushed together but other wise I really like it.
Bravo JFW....you are a musician...you honiured our talented friends work and yet added some very tasty little embellishments around those extra cool chord progs that Bear had going.Beautiful tone on that guitar......Well done...much respect to you....Ed
Wow Another enjoyed 3 minutes of my life. Appreciate it.
Shortbusmusic will under stand my statement.
Nice Guitar accompaniment. Just enough to add to it with out getting in the way of the main track.
Jamie, it is always such a pleasure to listen to your work. You are one of the best on Looperman when it comes to jazz, simply a master's class in doing things the right way. Your synth work was spot on. Beautiful mix, everything sitting so nicely. And then when that guitar comes in, my oh my, what a wonderful moment.
Like Patricia, I'm wishing I could download as well, hahaha.
This made me want to fly, it made me very confident that I could do it! It's very light and airy and almost like a dream, I do dream from time to time. Right now I'm dreaming I could download it haha :-)
Thanks for the listen Patricia! Nice to hear from you, I hope everything is going well for you musically. I saw a video of you live some months ago from a link you posted and you looked and sounded great! Stardom beckons methinks.
i know it is something of a backdoor comp when folks say it sounds like . . . such and such. but I think about wether report, and pat methene, and tower of power, . . . i never had the time to listen enough to those groups cause I was practicing the dam oboe for orchestra jobs!(so I don't know how accurate the comp is) but i am grateful you are writing this stuff now so I can enjoy it! peace.
man - this one is just to sit back, and relax, and unwind with for the duration. not for the internet (quick soundbite) generation though! the playing is superb. each section following chorus had some special interest and color. beautiful stuff.
It's been a while since I posted any comments but I feel compelled, drawn to tell you what a wonderful piece this is. I should have known when I saw who it was by. Always enjoyable!
Thanks for posting this song. I used to play it in my band back in the 70's era. I suppose many bands did back in the day. Of course I did it on my pedal steel.
Here on guitar, it sounds very close to that sound. Back then they didn't use the pedals on the steel guitar for that tune.
Anyways, you did an excellent job. Thanks for sharing...

Would it be a problem if I played around with this piece and maybe added some sax into the mix?
