Hello, Jamie - there's a spatial groove and great sound to this re-vision that almost cries out for voice-over, and of course i'm thinking Hunter.

this is beautiful. sound choice is fantastic and it instantly takes you away to its own place. also reminded me at times of some videogames i grew up playing, only it was brought out of 8 bit land and into a new time and place. good track.

This is totally wild! I love ambient like this! The synths are beautiful, and once you bring in the guitar it all falls together! Very well done my friend!
jfw
jfw replied Unknown
Thanks Spivkurl - I'm getting more into the ambient thing and I'll be doing a few more from time to time!

Strange, after the brass intro I would expect a completely different song...

I've downloaded it and try to make a version with the intro brasses! If thats okay with you ofcourse.

I love this. It's a smooth funky ride and the horns are a special treat.Your guitar tones are perfect for this with just the right amount of delay on the distorted leads.
Great!

Cool!....like waking up in a dreamscape...I think your studio probably has a few plants in it and I'm guessing their pretty happy about the arrangement.....love that top layer synth line....I dig this music, relaxed, introspective and alive on a multitude of levels...it's also interesting to note that after listening one gets the feeling that they've gained something from the experience and that isn't something you can buy off the shelf, you either possess the ability to impart it or you don't...excellent work! cheers Dave :)

Hey Jamie..I see your still polishing diamonds in the cool end of the zone..a great clean arrangement with your signature audio fastidiousness, love the guitar tonality throughout and the horns really cement the changes to this Jazz/Funk groove..I always love the endings to your tracks! and this one is no exception with a great little flourish that's tight and precise....Feng Shui is a fitting name for this piece as it displays all the harmony and accord one would expect from a dynamically balanced production..Karma plus Kool!..cheers Dave :)
jfw
jfw replied Unknown
Some of the polish is due to some very useful mastering software! As regsrds beginning & endings, they kind of set the frame around the picture - if we can get those right what goes on in between is neither here nor there! lol.

Cheers, Jamie.

Nice classic piece. The horns give it the funk. It's almost a step back in time (a nice step). Easy jazz/funk listening. This is nicely constructed too btw. Do you create each of the instruments? It doesn't sound like loops at all. I could swear there are real people playing the instruments. The guitar is especially sweet. Very good job.
jfw
jfw replied Unknown
Thanks for the listen! I played all of the instruments heard here ( i very rarely use loops) except for some REX drums.
Cheers, Jamie.

Wow, this is smooth! I love the guitar playing and tone! You had me right from the intro on this one! Is that some kind of octave distortion on the lead? It sounds awesome! Nice horns too! Beautiful track my friend!
jfw
jfw replied Unknown
Thanks for the listen SpivKurl - the modulation on the distorted guitar is a little light flanging.

Cheers, jamie.
