Blake and others have right advice. This was good like it was. Apply your experience to your next track. I like some more bass--sound to it myself, but otherwse I like it. vigwig
agreed, ableton rules, controllers are the way 4ward with the rewire attatching it to other DAWS...
ma ideal set up:- USING REWIRE
1) ableton live (main programme) 2) fl studio (4 sound design) 3) reason (for the great instruments)
4) behringers BCR+bcf 2000 (for controlling instrument + fx parametres) 5) Akai APC 40 (for clip triggering and volume levels + selecting fx units)...
This is the set up that im nearly sooo close to getting to perform my tracks LIVE, i would also like to have a bass guitarist,a lead and rythum guitarist, some kind of wind instruments and a male + female vocalists, im going home to live again and am going to hook up with some of ma old friends to form a band with all these elements combined together i hope to have a recipe to get a gig or two
yeh cheers bud, ableton rocks, though fl studio has some great applications and sound creation tools, ive not really got into it coz ive learnt using logic, nuendo, ableton and reason, i spend a year on each programme and then decide which 3 main ones im going to concernatrate on, what with the rewire protacol i think you can cover most angles using 3 main DAWS, next year im going to get into flstudio, but i dont like the arrangement facilities, though i might be missing the point or no how to use it properly , maybe ile find out next year when i really pop the lid on it and get to the bottom of it, but asa rewire i think it could be one of the 3 because of the great sound creation it brings and hearing the results users such as ureself have shown me you can get a good track that sounds professional, i dont listen to these ignorant fools that pass it off asa toy, as those peeps are the ones that dont even scratch the surface of the programmes and blame it on their tools as ive found on each of the programmes theres something that u can use to enhance your productions in all of them, who says you have to only use 1 or 2 apps to make a track, steinburg arent going to give you a gold star if you only swear by using cubase and you stay loyal to them are they?!?
yeh cheers babes, i like to mash it up a lil, probaly cause my musical tastes are quite broad and like to add a lil variety...thanx 4 taking the time reviw the track
cheers bud, yeh sounds a bit naff, was experimenting at the time and its not actually tempo change but it does sound like it yeh , its midi tracks reversed and it came out like that wierd yeh
Simple synth, but very catchy... vox seem a little too forward, are clipping a bit on my setup. I think they might work better after like 8 bars of the drums instead of before the drum heavy part comes in?
I like the synth that plays in the background around 1:30 and onwards. Vox still seem a bit too loud here.
Drop at 2:05 is strange, but it works pretty well. The bumpin bass really carries this song.
Tempo mixup at 2:30 is great.
Vocals seem much better toward the end. Not sure why they sounded bad for me at the beginning.
/typed as listened, ignore anything that's not useful, your mileage may vary
yeh, im listening back to the track haven't heard it 4 ages, and yes u are right about the vox at the start, cheers 4 the great breakdown of the track, glad to see peps do actually listen with a critical ear as i think its how u move on as u cant always see stuff in ure own tracks but can pull them straight out of someone elses mix so ta bud
yeh cheers bud for the encouraging words, i personally cant remember the last time i went out to any kinda party so am sooooooo outta touch with current music circulating round the club scene at the moment, but im glad 4 the appriciation.
hi m8 1stly good 1st track m8 likin the beats sound nice and clear holds up well through out but u defo need to put some depth in ya basslines maybe by layerin or a sine wave to give some sub under the main bline u could try some eqing to sort it,,, also try using a plugin called camel phat makes some nice blines on that also ur tracks need to be about 5 to 6 mins long apart from that its good keep up the good work ...... peace
yes, the feedback 4 this track have all said the same thin oneg about the bottom end i'll definatly consider this when making another in this genre...think im going to emerse maself in the genre for a while 1st and check out some tracks...any suggestions???
its took a second to start digging it, but this is catching. The break is Good, I like the trashy sound of the reverb myself still very 1997, i think more drops and like Really absorb yourself in pushing the dynamics of fusion.
This track needs some heavy bass otherwise great work. The intermixed vocals are very cool. Maybe an explosive bit somewhere after the middle? Just an idea if you know what I mean. Enjoyed it.
Great Work Mate Proper Awesome Track, The Synths And The Synth Tune Are So Happy Soundin Like Makes Ya Wanna Smile And The Beat Just Makes You Wanna Move Hehe Carnt Wait Till I Can Make Shizz This Good
yeh is a bit ov a mess, one of those tracks where i went back to it a few weeks later and cudnt get back into the same groove as i left it...but this track did get me to think about mixing my tracks on ableton and hardware controllers, using different elements from each track during transitions from 1 to another...controlling each instrument independently on seperate sliders/knobs, so creating ure own mix on the fly...been real busy and at last gonna check out ur tracks
Damn i love this song! only 1 thing you should check ; at 3:44 sounds like there s something wrong with the transition, the way i hear it it's like suddenly the song goes slower. But this one is going in to my favourite members tracks.
yeh it was sort of done on purpose the tempo change but obviously wasnt executed very well, thanx for pointing that out to me...glad u liked the track bud
Haha, that voc-sam. OMG, man, where have I heard it before?
Does it go- Hey you, stomp your feet?
Man, I'm so brain dead at the mo'. Okay, it doesn't say that, but the 'Hey you' part, I swear I've heard that part somewhere before. It's gonna drive me crazy all day now.
The rest of it is pretty choice. Kinda remindin me of classic NES midi (like somethin from Castlevania, maybe). The way you start the drums on this is awesome. They kinda progress into a more standard pattern, but this is hardstyle after all, so that's cool. Hmm, at the moment I'm feelin like this needs some moor bass to it, yeah, more bass! Maybe just bump up yer current Basses volume just a little. And the fade out FX are killer. Styled after my own heart. Thanks for sharing. Later on!
Okies, waitin for the track length to show. Ah- 5:52. Eh, not bad lengthwise, but let's wait for the whole track to play before I really say anything there.
The vocal sample is different. Not a big fan of 'em, but you made 'em work. Hmm, I'm thinkin if ya added some effects to 'em it'd sound cooler, but that's just me (shrugs). I agree with Esh, this has more of a Techno vibe to it. Well, in the evolved sense of Tech, that is. Classically speaking it sounds more Electro (Kraftwerk in z house?, haha). This whole track is different though. Can't really put my finger on it. Hmm, maybe it's like the evolution of DDR or what an elevator would sound like if they played more EDM stuff. That prolly didn't sound right!? Hmm, its a slippery bastaad, I tell you. One minute I'm thinking crazy next generation stuff and the next I envision Disney's Brave Little Toaster dancing a jig. Insanity man, insanity. Later on!
I agree with phillyblunt good track im lovin the composition try eqing the bottom end right out of the bassline and layer a sinewave filtered right down underneath to add sub bass and then maybe layer something a bit gritty either bandpassed or with again bottom end taken out try it you never know Just an idea for ya Great track Respect DiR-T:H
yeh cheers 4 the pointers bud always good to hear sum positive suggestions into a genre im not that familiar to in making but enjoy the vibe drum and bass gives especially 6 in the morning ata a free party...brings back fond memories, ile give that a go and see wot results in doing it
awesome! i love the feel this track has, and the spacey pad layers you have stacked! i also liked the melody that gradualy builds up! keep up the good work! -Lorin
yeh cheers bud 4 the review, drum and bass int normally my thing so any input is well recieved and i will look in2 trying out a few basslines 2 see if i can get it too work but didnt want to overload the trak toooo much
