Grabbed my attention so I hadta listen. Quick question- what happened with the College? Don't gotta answer though. I was just curious is all.
And in that kind of situation, I think that I'd be devastated too. So very apt name, mate. I love the grindy bass transition you've got in this coz it sounds super angry/frustrated. The drums on this are reminding me of somethin I heard on the Brain Bashers album I got. Dance to the House, I think (not 100 on that though). The usage of flighty synth on this is cool and it's tempo is very frenzied. Thanks for sharing. Lates mate!
got into a fight wiv a load of lads, who had been harasing my girlfriend over the whole year, flipped in the end and went overboard and tried to take them all out and got overpowered in the end..saw red ina drunken state. 7 statments against mine and hers, who was belived,.. anyway past history...
prob not 1 of my better traks, but it served its purpose at the time, thanx for the review
You reminded me. I seriously need new speakers. The one's I got now are beginning to skirt the ragged edge of crappin out. You know what set-up I'd love to have? A 2/4 (or 6) assemblage. 2 subs (10") with 4 or 6 tweets (6"). Kinda like the way some people have their cars.
Anywho, this is a pretty intense track. Very high energy that I could see glow-sticker kids goin crazy over (I'd be there too, with my little LED lights twirlin up a storm). The See-&-Say (atleast, I think that's the name of the toy) vox ya used were killer. The other vox kinda remind me of the stuff The Porn Kings used on their album 'Up To No Good' (absolutely great CD that I highly recommend ya check out). Thanks for sharing this mate. Later on!
ive jus gotta pair of M-AUDIO BX5a's for £150, active monitors and there beautys,, alot of the feedback ive had has been mix issues and after listening back to old tunes i can see wot was being said by peps, which i couldnt hear on my old speakers that were mid/high without ant bottom end at all so made all the mid/high freqs stand out nice and clear to me but sounded muggy and the bass freqs were overbearing to others, but with these new monitors i can sort that out so you can actually hear all the freqs of the trak stand out, ive been itching to get some for ages now and am glad i made the investment as it could save me alot of time in the long run, but always went out and got like MIDI controllers etc, when i probaly should of got the monitors, but when i started gettin reviews on here i saw the need to do so more as it wasnt jus me or my mates listening to the traks, so i would invest in some cuz its not like it one of those things you jus want, but essential in mastering your mastering and getting your traks spot on...glad you liked the trak and i will try to check that porn kings albulm out cuz ive never heard of them
yeh im really gutted, cuz i like being ina group of musicians and get areal buzz off of everyone else and come up with better ideas and like to produce the traks and do the engineering etc and makes a change from producing your own traks
good job loving the percussion. 1 thing that i would do would be crank up the volume on the melody and all the synths because the percussion is nice but the melody is just as important.
yeh ithink it might be cuz ma speakers have a great mid range, which is about where the synths etc lie and they come through really clear in the mix through them, so when played on speakers with a better dynamic range they tend to fall back in the mix...thanx for the feedback as i didnt really realise this was a problem, maybe with some new monitors i can sort this problem out so ta bud
hmm i agree with djvo hmm... other then that kick maybe try to make it more dynamic like put a break in there then break it down if your gettin what im saying good luck =)
yeh point taken, on my second mix i will add some more percussion and have a look at the kick and the breakdowns, cheers 4 the pointer, wish i cud get more reviews loike yours appriciated
nice bass line, but i think you have not choosed the right kick for the song, caus the gate on the kick dont fit whit the melody
but its my oppinion...
can be easily remadied ma friend thanx for the pointa cuz ive got no bottom end on ma speakers and its quite hard to diferentialate if thats a word between anything bottom end, any suggestions...like gotta be deeper, more velocity or a cleaner thump???
yeh cheers bud, that was what was intended for most of my traks...im from the old skool free party scene, including beach parties and my dream is to own a double decker bus. convert it into a studio/party bus, attatch speakers and stage to the bus and hit the free party scene, tour around the country and open up the studio in each part of the country, for people to either learn computer music or make up demo traks and seperate the wheat from the chaff and invite people on the bus to do the next party and perform... theres more detail to it but hey we've all got to have dreams...thanx for the encouraging words
That's ambient and a really cool one, nice bass guitar and atmospheric strings, soft vox. Thinkin that is a jam..Wonder how it'd be properly recorded and mastered. Cool Stuff
man this is bangin..!!! Love the kick here...really got my head boppin and me foot tappin....just needs some work on the mix, but fekkin great track!!!
jus wondrin about the mix issues, sum pointers wud be great help cuz ive only got sum tiny speakers at mo and no bottom end wot so ever and the mid range seems to be a muddle. wud be a great help... glad u liked the trak bud
If you aren't happy with certain parts the thing to do (as blakestringer said) would be to think about how you could improve it but apply it in your next tracks. I could go back to my first track (light and dark) and try to improve it with what i know now, but i don't think it would get better than the stuff i'm making now. Overall, i think you had some good ideas in there, it was just a bit hardcore compared with what i'm used to, but thats just my tastes.
I read your whole description, and I noticed that you were worried about the track lacking "momentum"
I'm not sure how other electronica artists work, but once you've done something, completed it, and felt it was advisable; it had to of been good enough at the time
Personally, I wouldn't change anything about your track, just use advice given here to help with your next track, so you can see development
