Liked the feel to this. A nice gentle, floating atmosphere.
Some nice 'hooky' melodies too. Don't know if I'd call it
a lament...I found it quite uplifting.
I'm not sure how I feel about this one. Not sure if I like it but I do appreciate it. Not all music is meant to be liked, or to be beguiling, or to be pretty. This is a lament and, while I don't know if there are any formal "rules" to that form, I'm sure some heaviness and density of feeling is in order, and some disharmony. This dances on the blade of disharmony here and there, which makes it hard to listen to in spots, but the density of the sound layers draws in your ear and mind and keeps you going on the dark journey. That's what I appreciate about this piece and find effective. Thanks!
Thanks Citizen i appreciate the input normally a lament is done by a bagpipe player where i come from in Scotland but i have now changed this track completely and removed much of the drone. Thanks and best regards.
My take on this is that you captured more of a textural aspect of music that effects the listener in much more different ways, than say, a lullaby or pop music would. That can make the listener turn on defense mechanisms as a reaction to the grinding, pounding and seemingly attacking feel of the sounds you created here. In some ways similar reactions a captive person would experience to torture. hmmmmm
I'd say you accomplished something here, well done!
Thanks for your insightful comment when i listened to this again i can feel the aggression there, i don't think i could do a one hit on the guitar like that again but it fitted the bill at the time.
You should do more or that "noodling" cause it sounds exquisite! Very calming and dreamy with crystal clear sound and I love those background sounds....almost hypnotic. Big fav!
Sounds awesome man! Tele's have a cool, crisp edgy tone. Nice idea, the backing music is dreamlike and hypnotizing while the guitar cuts through like a knife. The idea is simple and it works just fine for me. Thoroughly enjoyed it, gave it a few listens, great noodling!
Your song hits the spot man! I'm loving it! Taking me back to the really early trance days, when technology was not so advanced, and when musicians worked hard for their craft. Has a touch of fusion or progressive with that lead synth, which sounds very 60-70s to me. Since I've been working with tape a lot, this makes me wonder how it would sound at "high speed dubbing" speed... could be a hardcore dance classic that way. ha ha. All in all, I dig this one! Fave!
Hey Nodog its me again =). Well yea since you asked if I could upload it with the drums i thought why not. I have deactivated the download button for now cause well its still yours and i dont want to upset you in any way. Have a listen if you dont like it i can take it down too no problemo =)
Kingbeatz187 sorry for late reply i have not been on the site for ages loved what you did and appreciate your work i could not have done that because the timing is so variable on my guitar as it was at such a slow tempo i have no discipline maybe one day :) best regards Robbie
That is some mighty fine noodling Nodog...the expressiveness of the playing and the flowing backing music just carries the whole thing along perfectly....doesn`t need another thing...Love the clean tone you are getting from that Tele...I have an old bandmate/friend who now lives more than 1000 miles away from here that would totally love this (I do too)...He has been into Teles since the 60s and owns/loves a couple of dozen of them (plus damn near every amp model Fender has ever made).....Fab bit of tasty playing...much ebjoyed & big fav....Ed
Build one :D https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/160347 I've applied this design to about 30 guitars so far, cigar boxes, cookie and other various tins, license plates, ect. Does an olive oil can count? Be warned though they are extremely addicting!!
Hey man i enjoyed the necromatricide track fantastically cinematographic when it comes to building guitars i'm clueless especially when a soldering iron appears. :) Robbie.
Very Beautiful! I will put drums on it after i've downloaded it and keep it for noone to hear because to me this is the only thing thats lacking for me its the drums. I was waiting for them for the whole song! Otherwise this is has a beautiful atmosphere perfect soundscheme! Nicely done!
