hey Rob,

Your new track is pretty good but i will pump up the beat level. May be you can create an effect on it:
from beginning until 0:56 at the actuel lvl and after upgrade it for example?

about the instruments, you find really good loops. i don't know the mords in english but in french here is my feeling: "les nappes sont super planantes, les petits sons acids derriere viennent contre balancer pour marquer le tempo. Hormis le pied qui est étouffé, je trouve ce morceau très abouti et original"

Very interesting track. Not sure if it comes cinematic though as it's quite trancy. Wrote a track about the fibonacci numbers a long time ago myself, and it was dance driven itself. Tracks that make you think and wonder. Keep it up man. blessings - B

Overall I like the drive. The timing of the loops needs to be tweaked, those key hits are a bit early. However, this is definitely a song you can dance too.

intro sounded like hardcore screeching, which gave it that dark and disturbing feeling, but turns out it was just space fx and pads lol

I like the scifi feel you get after the intro, when the choir kicks in
I LOVE when the percussions come in too, they give that lo-fi chill feel.

im guessing lots and lots of efforts goes to the track, hearing those ton of automation on the pads

cheers!

Hey 2d2r I took the 3 loops then lined up the synths but the key is the synth scream plus a beat late on the track. Assembling those ingredients took 3 days. I listened to those individual clips and when I had the overall concept in my head i recorded it in one hit manually doing the fades in session view in ableton live . I'm sure that's not how most people work their DAW but it's the way I like doing it. Thanks for your comment best regards . Robbie.

I loved this one, the distorted synth sounds reminded me of some of the early sounds I used to create with the Korg MS2000. Bravo

In short sidechaining makes other sounds lower when the beat kicks in. With heavy sidechain you got a pumping effect(which i dont like) but when used balanced it will make the mix more natural. But you have a lot of creativity and that is something you cant learn. Good job!

Very awesme intro....classical choir with some nice spacelike evolving pad. Creates a nice flow. You should use a bit of sidechain to let the drum pattern be in the mix instead of on top. For the rest it is a fun to listen to.

Thanks mudhoen your comment is appreciated i need to learn what sidechaining is all about i gather its a form of trigger. Best regards.

I feel this is a very modern cinematic track, very sad and emotionally heavy. Pieces of music this length can be so filled with a story and emotion and passion, I find that great about music. If this was 3 minutes longer I'm not sure that it wouldn't have had a different effect on me. I liked it!

Hmmmm... Lament = Deep and Heavy
You can really hear the deep vibe in the track
For me its very unsettling but I appreciated the composition of the track on how it constantly stayed its purpose, on "lamenting".

good sh*t right here

Hi,

Liked the feel to this. A nice gentle, floating atmosphere.
Some nice 'hooky' melodies too. Don't know if I'd call it
a lament...I found it quite uplifting.

Good stuff....thx

I'm not sure how I feel about this one. Not sure if I like it but I do appreciate it. Not all music is meant to be liked, or to be beguiling, or to be pretty. This is a lament and, while I don't know if there are any formal "rules" to that form, I'm sure some heaviness and density of feeling is in order, and some disharmony. This dances on the blade of disharmony here and there, which makes it hard to listen to in spots, but the density of the sound layers draws in your ear and mind and keeps you going on the dark journey. That's what I appreciate about this piece and find effective. Thanks!

Thanks Citizen i appreciate the input normally a lament is done by a bagpipe player where i come from in Scotland but i have now changed this track completely and removed much of the drone. Thanks and best regards.
