Hi Spivkurl, Synth intro very 80's sounding to my ear.Vocals could do with some treatment to beef em up a bit. Needs another segment to keep the listener interested.Solo is unusual waspy sort of sounding but quite different.
The synth playing seems very competent.
The end sounds like a party of frogs at the side of a frog pond which is certainly unique.......Not something I would usualy listen to but glad I did for the experience.......Keep on writing.........dylanthermos.

I was going for a very raw sound on the vocals, but I see what you mean. I really have been needing to make short songs lately, hence the lack of another segment. A party of frogs, interesting take on the outro. Thanks for going out of your way to review!

very brave stylization! behind the simplicity there's lot of thought and skill! love the synths - and vocals are perfectly matching the overall 'craziness'. somehow this track sounds genuinely British. great worj!

Thank you for the kind words! I would agree that there is some overall craziness, but that can't be avoided with me. I've been told I sound british before, but you can never hear that too often. Thanks for the listen!

No, no, no, no... F888 you!
    Hahaha!

Don'tcha just love that word? It has so many applications and all that. Anyways, this is strange in a Tricky sorta way. Its kinda Glitchy, but it also has some Garage Electro qualities to it too. The "Just havin fun" part of the lyrics really struck a chord with me (or is it supposed to be accord, shrugs). That's what its all about, right- havin fun? Kinda like if someone aint havin fun with it then why they doin it at all, ya know? Lates!

Awesome shit man. This track rocks. I love it. It's fun doing this kinda shit, but not the easiest task to make a decent song outta it. Well done!

Thank you so much! I think it sounds kinda tribal for being circuit bent sounds. And you are right, it wasn't too easy especially when I decided to use the reel to reel to capture the sounds. Thanks for the review!

This is like some off-the-wall 80's new-age synth-pop track. The vocals kinda reminded me the most of that. Kinda like a mix between the singers of Devo and New Order. The synth treatment of this is like something we'd prolly be likely to hear at some fancy art gallery that doubles as a lounge. Sorta like the evolution of those hipster coffee jazz bars of the 50's. Cheers!

Thanks for the good comments on the vocals, you compared it to some of my favourite vocalists of the new wave scene. That coupled with the last review comparing it to talking heads, I'm in heaven. The art gallery/louge you describe sounds like something I'd like to open if I wasn't broke living in a hick town. Thanks for the great review!

i liked it at first the weird glitchy vocals turned me off but by the end i appreciated them, the chorus reminded me of my own voice so i had to listen to it lol..love the main beat as simple as it is it kicks through solid the whole song, i liked the song much more by the end then i did at first, seems like a fun one to play turned up really loud for all to hear!

hehehehe, i like the way u are saying the f*ck u on this track makes me laugh.like u are saying it on the annoying side, like the second fast F*uck u. also i like the quick "he" sound, like someone is pushing up and is tired from a stroke.
this is my first Glitch track i think so i am not sure how this goes. good work.

    Spivkurl
    Reply by Spivkurl

It's definitely meant to be slightly annoying, as the F*uck you is definitely directed towards certain people. I think the pitched down "f*ck you" adds a little ghetto element to the track. Don't worry to much about the genre. I only put it under glitch because the song is primarily composed of circuit bent glitches. Thanks for the review!

don't know the Glitch genre,it's al music to me!cool beat and awsome vocals.a padsound in the back would be nice i think and a bit deeper bass sound!electro pop comes to mind when i listen to this track.good work for sure!

    Spivkurl
    Reply by Spivkurl

Thanks for your review. Both the genre selection and the lack of pads or deep bass are the result of the limited sound source I used. If I remember right it;s all circuit bent sounds, I stayed away from traditional instrumentation. Electro pop sounds okay to me. Thanks again!

Thanks friend! I am fairly proud of this one, considering the single instrument origin of all the sounds. I'm honored you say it creates a mood and images, as that is my goal when I'm making instrumental tracks. I though this had a bit of a tribal head rocking feel to it. Thanks again!

I know I've already reviewed this track once befoe. But I happen to click through on the featured track part of this site, to listen to this song. Then I realized that I had heard it once before. I would like to say that I'm impressed with the skill it takes to circuit bend things. I'm also very impressed with the skill it takes to make music with such gadgets, to turn them into real instruments. I feel like I can appreciate your work that much more than before.

    For real!

Thanks a lot my friend. It took me years after I bent some of these instruments to use them in music that I could be satisfied with. In fact this toy is now sitting in a scrap pile, but if I were to go put batteries in the pile, and plug in a 1/4 inch, I'm sure I could coax some new noises out of it. I'm almost done with the album this song will be on, and there's a lot more circuit bent instrumentation on it. Be on the look out for a track "FoodCrow", which was created with the same theory in mind. Thanks for the good feedback.

I haven't listened to much Glitch....in a way that's good..because it's a whole new area to discover and enjoy....There's a real method to this 'madness' and seeing as you actually created the instruments that made these sounds..I'm totally blown away!...necessity is the mother of invention they say..do you create your 'homebrews' with a sound spectrum in mind?...I think it's brilliant what your doing..I'm really looking forward to whatever else you'll be coming up with!...cheers planet :)

Thanks for listening! I think when I'm bending I really look for sounds that stand out and say they could be useful - rhythmically, musically, psychologically... that sort of thing. Brilliant is a nice thing to say. I've got a couple more songs in the works right now. Thank you for taking a sonic detour with me.

This would work well in a killer fight scene in a motion picture. It sounds like rampage and total mayhem. I'm not typically one to listen to this kind of music. But I think I can appreciate it as an art form that helps to paint some kind of a picture for the listener. Very good Sculpting. You've won me over to this kind of sound. Very kick-butt track.

I think I will make that my next loop project then. I just uploaded some other glitch loops from the same computron session as well, but they wouldn't be validated yet. Thanks for the good feedback.

Edit - I think with this track I'll be settling for uploading loops made with the soundset, and not the loops for the actual song. If anyone want's to remix though, I would provide them in uncompressed wav's. Hit me up.
